The swap operation in the two-qubit Heisenberg XXZ model-effects of anisotropy and magnetic field

In this paper we study the swap operation in a two-qubit anisotropic XXZ model in the presence of an inhomogeneous magnetic field. We establish the range of anisotropic parameter within which the swap operation is feasible. The swap errors caused by the inhomogeneous field are evaluated

Isolation of an ascorbate peroxidase in Brassica napus and analysis of its specific interaction with ATP6

In Brassica napus, ATP6 is related to Pol cytoplasmic male sterility. To understand the mechanism of Pol CMS, proteins which interact with ATP6 were screened in a yeast two-hybrid system. A partial sequence of a putative and ascorbate peroxidase (Bn-APX) was isolated from Brassica napus. By use of rapid amplification of cDNA ends method, the full length of Bn-APX coding sequence was cloned. The deduced amino acid sequence contained 438 amino acid residues with a conserved ascorbate peroxidase domain and shared 77% identity with that of APX from Arabidopsis thaliana. Further analyses revealed that the region of Bn-APX interacting with ATP6 was at its c-terminal. It was also observed that the expressions of ATP6 and Bn-APX were strongly similar in the floral tissue of CMS line and the restoring line. Furthermore, in restoring line, the expression of Bn-APX is higher in the flower than that in other tissues

Role of electromagnetic dipole operator in the electroweak penguin dominated vector meson decays of BB meson

The pure annihilation type decays Bd0ϕγB^0_d\to\phi\gamma and BsργB_s\to\rho\gamma receive only color suppressed penguin contributions with a very small branching ratio in the standard model. When we include the previously neglected electromagnetic dipole operator, the branching ratios can be enhanced one order magnitude larger than previous study using QCD factorization approach. That is BR(Bˉd0ϕγ)1×1011{\cal BR}(\bar B^0_d\to\phi\gamma)\simeq 1 \times 10^{-11} and BR(Bsργ)(616)×1010{\cal BR}(B_s\to\rho\gamma) \sim (6-16)\times 10^{-10}. The new effect can also give a large contribution, of order 10910^{-9}, to transverse polarization of BϕρB\to\phi\rho and BωϕB\to \omega\phi which is comparable to the longitudinal part. These effects can be detected in the LHCb experiment and the Super-B factories.Comment: Revised extensively. 8 pages, 4 figure

Probing Topcolor-Assisted Technicolor from Like-sign Top Pair Production at LHC

The topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) theory predicts tree-level flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) top quark Yukawa couplings with top-pions. Such FCNC interactions will induce like-sign top quark pair productions at CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). While these rare productions are far below the observable level in the Standard Model and other popular new physics models such as the Minimal Supersymmetric Model, we find that in a sound part of parameter space the TC2 model can enhance the production cross sections to several tens of fb and thus may be observable at the LHC due to rather low backgrounds. Searching for these productions at the LHC will serve as an excellent probe for the TC2 model.Comment: 10 pages, 6 fig

Numerical investigation of flow fields of air-cooled condenser cell including fan blade passages

Paper presented at the 8th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Mauritius, 11-13 July, 2011.The primary purpose of this numerical investigation is to analyze the characteristic of inside and outside flow fields of air-cooled condenser (ACC) cell in power plant. The fin-tube bundles are modeled using porous regions, and fan blade passages are modeled in details to gain accurately fan exhaust flows. Results of numerical investigation indicate that rotational fan exhaust flows lead to inside rotational symmetry flows and distributions of outflows from fin-tube bundles in Aframe ACC cell. When rotational flows are in same direction of ACC outflows in the area, high pressure increases the ACC mass outflows. In the under corner near the ACC inlet with inconsistent interfaces, less ACC outflows appear because of air flows paralleling to the ACC outflow side, influenced by the rotational flows.pm201

Synthesis and calcium mobilization activity of cADPR analogues which integrate nucleobase, northern and southern ribose modifications

    Get PDF
Novel cADPR mimics, which integrate nucleobase, northern and southern ribose modifications were synthesized. The key steps of the synthesis were a Cu(I)-catalyzed Hüisgen [3+2] cycloaddition and a microwave-assisted intramolecular pyrophosphorylation. Preliminary biological investigations showed that these cADPR mimics are membrane-permeating agonists of the calcium signaling pathway. The introduction of chlorine or fluorine at the 2'-position of the southern riboses led to a decrease of activity. The existence of a hydrophobic group on the 3'-OH of the southern riboses does not obviously alter the agonistic activity. © 2012 by the authors.published_or_final_versio
