Full Glowworm Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Whole-Set Orders Scheduling in Single Machine

By analyzing the characteristics of whole-set orders problem and combining the theory of glowworm swarm optimization, a new glowworm swarm optimization algorithm for scheduling is proposed. A new hybrid-encoding schema combining with two-dimensional encoding and random-key encoding is given. In order to enhance the capability of optimal searching and speed up the convergence rate, the dynamical changed step strategy is integrated into this algorithm. Can the Elite Stream Improve the Academic Achievement of Senior Secondary School Students? A Study of High School Students from X City in western China based on Regression Discontinuity Analysis

The fairness and efficacy of the elite stream in general senior secondary education have long been a contentious issue. Based on the longitudinal data of the students who were enrolled in five senior secondary schools in X City in western China in 2017 and 2018, this study examined the effects of elite class streaming in improving student academic performance, using regression discontinuity analysis. The research findings showed that: despite the significant differences in the grade-10 streaming examination results and the grade-12 academic achievement between the elite class and regular class students, the gap was not markedly widened after three years of senior secondary education; the elite stream did not exhibit distinct promotive effects on the advancement of students’ overall performance when the cutoff point of elite class admission was utilized as the exogenous variable to evaluate the effects of the elite stream on student performance; both the parameter estimation and non-parametric estimation results demonstrated that the elite stream had no marked effects in improving student performance and there was no gender difference or urban vs. rural difference in the impact of the elite stream on student academic achievement

Based on the GEM listed companies in 2009-2016, the authors discuss the impact of government-enterprise cooperation on enterprise technology innovation and its actual economic consequences from the two dimensions of R&D investment and corporate performance. The empirical results of this paper are as follows: the government-enterprise cooperation model does not promote enterprises to invest more funds for technological innovation, but it has a positive effect on corporate performance. The conclusion of this paper provides a new perspective and empirical evidence for us to understand the nature of government-enterprise cooperation and its impact on the entire economic market. Web based CINDI system : graphical user interface design and implementation

As the World Wide Web grows, more and more information will be available on the Internet. However, how to organize such information and let people search for it efficiently is a big problem. As we know, there are a lot of search engines on the web. However, because of the lack of a standard indexing scheme and an informative query interface, they still cannot offer the Internet users a very efficient way to search for information. The CINDI (Concordia Indexing and Discovery) system provides a standard index scheme called Semantic Header, which is introduced by Dr. Bipin C. Desai et al. Moreover, the CINDI system provides an informative query interface for users and a resource registration interface for contributors. This report presents the design and implementation of the CINDI system based on the World Wide Web. It emphasizes on the graphical user interface (GUI) design and implementation for the CINDI system. UML (Unified Modeling Language) has been used in the design and analysis procedure of CINDI system. PHP has been used in the implementation of the user interface. MySql has been used to implement the database of the system. The Apache web server allows the clients' request and stores the useful information from the database by using HTTP protocol
