Probing dark particles indirectly at the CEPC

    Get PDF
When dark matter candidate and its parent particles are nearly degenerate, it would be difficult to probe them at the Large Hadron Collider directly. We propose to explore their quantum loop effects at the CEPC through the golden channel process e+eμ+μe^+e^-\to \mu^+\mu^-. We use a renormalizable toy model consisting of a new scalar and a fermion to describe new physics beyond the Standard Model. The new scalar and fermion are general multiplets of the SU(2)L×U(1)YSU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y symmetry, and couple to the muon lepton through Yukawa interaction. We calculate their loop contributions to anomalous γμ+μ\gamma\mu^+\mu^- and Zμ+μZ\mu^+\mu^- couplings which can be applied to many new physics models. The prospects of their effects at the CEPC are also examined assuming a 0.002 accuracy in the cross section measurement

Suppose that X={Xt,t0}X=\{X_t, t\ge 0\} is a supercritical superprocess on a locally compact separable metric space (E,m)(E, m). Suppose that the spatial motion of XX is a Hunt process satisfying certain conditions and that the branching mechanism is of the form ψ(x,λ)=a(x)λ+b(x)λ2+(0,+)(eλy1+λy)n(x,dy),xE,λ>0, \psi(x,\lambda)=-a(x)\lambda+b(x)\lambda^2+\int_{(0,+\infty)}(e^{-\lambda y}-1+\lambda y)n(x,dy), \quad x\in E, \quad\lambda> 0, where aBb(E)a\in \mathcal{B}_b(E), bBb+(E)b\in \mathcal{B}_b^+(E) and nn is a kernel from EE to (0,)(0,\infty) satisfying supxE0y2n(x,dy)<. \sup_{x\in E}\int_0^\infty y^2 n(x,dy)<\infty. Put Ttf(x)=PδxT_tf(x)=\mathbb{P}_{\delta_x}. Let λ0>0\lambda_0>0 be the largest eigenvalue of the generator LL of TtT_t, and ϕ0\phi_0 and ϕ^0\hat{\phi}_0 be the eigenfunctions of LL and L^\hat{L} (the dural of LL) respectively associated with λ0\lambda_0. Under some conditions on the spatial motion and the ϕ0\phi_0-transformed semigroup of TtT_t, we prove that for a large class of suitable functions ff, we have limteλ0t<f,Xt>=WEϕ^0(y)f(y)m(dy),Pμa.s., \lim_{t\rightarrow\infty}e^{-\lambda_0 t}< f, X_t> = W_\infty\int_E\hat{\phi}_0(y)f(y)m(dy),\quad \mathbb{P}_{\mu}{-a.s.}, for any finite initial measure μ\mu on EE with compact support, where WW_\infty is the martingale limit defined by W:=limteλ0tW_\infty:=\lim_{t\to\infty}e^{-\lambda_0t}. Moreover, the exceptional set in the above limit does not depend on the initial measure μ\mu and the function ff

    Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy in Asia

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is an analytical detection technique based on atomic emission spectroscopy to measure the elemental composition. LIBS has been extensively studied and developed due to the non-contact, fast response, high sensitivity, real-time and multi-elemental detection features. The development and applications of LIBS technique in Asia are summarized and discussed in this review paper. The researchers in Asia work on different aspects of the LIBS study in fundamentals, data processing and modeling, applications and instrumentations. According to the current research status, the challenges, opportunities and further development of LIBS technique in Asia are also evaluated to promote LIBS research and its applications

Computational Approach to Investigating Key GO Terms and KEGG Pathways Associated with CNV

Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is a severe eye disease that leads to blindness, especially in the elderly population. Various endogenous and exogenous regulatory factors promote its pathogenesis. However, the detailed molecular biological mechanisms of CNV have not been fully revealed. In this study, by using advanced computational tools, a number of key gene ontology (GO) terms and KEGG pathways were selected for CNV. A total of 29 validated genes associated with CNV and 17,639 nonvalidated genes were encoded based on the features derived from the GO terms and KEGG pathways by using the enrichment theory. The widely accepted feature selection method—maximum relevance and minimum redundancy (mRMR)—was applied to analyze and rank the features. An extensive literature review for the top 45 ranking features was conducted to confirm their close associations with CNV. Identifying the molecular biological mechanisms of CNV as described by the GO terms and KEGG pathways may contribute to improving the understanding of the pathogenesis of CNV

AIM: To analyze the recovery of visual cortex activation range of color vision in anisometropia amblyopia children after treatment by using blood oxygen level dependence-functional magnetic resonance imaging(BOLD-fMRI)and SPM8 software.<p>METHODS: Self-control study. This fMRI study directly compared activity in visual cortex produced by color monocular stimulation in 13 monocular anisometropia amblyopia children. The project of study was blocked design. The data of functions and anatomical MRI was stimulated by three-primary colors and was preprocessed and analyzed by SPM8 that based on MATLAB software. According to the data, we compared the change of the central area of color vision when first visit and 1, 2,4wk after treatment. <p>RESULTS: The BA17, BA18, BA19 and BA37 of amblyopia children were different activated after they accepted the three-primary colors stimulation(<i>P</i><0.01). After 4wk treatment, amblyopia children accepted red stimulation, the visual cortex activation range without expanding; after accepting green stimulus, on the left side of the visual cortex BA37, BA19, BA20, the average <i>t</i> value were 3.5210, 3.2716, 3.1534(<i>P</i><0.01); after accepting blue stimulation, the scope of the right side of visual cortex at BA19, BA18 were expanded to different extent, the average <i>t</i> value were 3.7345, 3.2701(<i>P</i><0.01).<p>CONCLUSION: After 4wk treatment, visual cortex activation of color vision of anisometropia amblyopic children is expanded, but with low extent, after the short-term treatment of amblyopia, visual cortex activation of color vision has a certain degree of recovery but not obvious
