    Analysis of main causes of defects of multi-storey reinforced concrete frame buildings

    Multi-storey reinforced concrete frame buildings are widespread in Russia. Most of these buildings have braced frame system, where the main load-bearing elements are columns, beams and hollow floor slabs, and the spatial rigidity is provided by additional diaphragms, staircase and elevator section. Such buildings are easy to design and build and are quite multifunctional in purpose. The article on the basis of the authors’ experience in the survey examines the main defects in such buildings. The causes of typical defects can be divided into objective, technological and operational reasons. Usually, the cause of survey can be structural damage discovered by the building owner that is why often the survey is conducted during the emergency condition, which can be avoided, if inspections and monitoring of the structures technical state are regular. Also there is a necessity of improving the design methods of new buildings and strengthening of existing ones

    In the survey of reinforced concrete buildings and constructions it is necessary to determine the parameters of the reinforcement and establish the presence or absence of corrosion processes in reinforcement and steel embeds. In the case when the construction has the external evidence of emergency condition, baring isn’t possible due to the high probability of its collapse. In such situation it is advisable to use non-destructive methods. But on the basis of one method it isn’t possible to obtain reliable results. It is proposed to use a set of non-destructive methods to obtain objective and reliable results of research.В процессе обследования железобетонных конструкций зданий и сооружений возникает необходимость в определении параметров армирования и установлении наличия либо отсутствия коррозионных процессов арматуры и закладных элементов. В случае, когда конструкция имеет внешние признаки аварийного состояния, вскрытие не представляется возможным ввиду большой вероятности её обрушения. В такой ситуации целесообразно применение методов неразрушающего контроля. Но на основании одного какого либо метода не представляется возможным получить достоверный результат.     В данной статье на основании полученных результатов технических экспертиз гражданских зданий сделана попытка систематизировать возникающие повреждения и отказы каменных конструкций во временном формате их эксплуатации с привязкой к частоте их проявления, а также к категориям надежности. Полученные закономерности помогли бы сформировать эффективную систему профилактик по своевременному восстановлению зданий и продлить их эксплуатационный срок службы.In this article, based on the results of technical examinations of civil buildings, an attempt to systematize the resulting damage and failures of stone structures according to their operation period with reference to the frequency of their occurrence, as well as to the categories of reliability is made. The obtained regularities would help to form an effective prevention system for the timely reconstruction of buildings and extend their service life
