    No full text
The objective of this project was to generate an intervention in the neighborhood Chasquipampa that promotes the implementation of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design concepts in order to reduce the sense of insecurity and improve the quality of life of the area. The project also follows the example of Bogota as a successful case of developing of urban space in the region. The project was able to design an intervention in Chasquipampa based on the CPTED concepts. The intervention affects the complete study area with some special emphasis in three areas. The project directly improves quality of life in the neighborhood. The project proposes the creation of new public areas in the vicinity of the market and transformation of some streets to pedestrian boulevards. It also promotes the attraction of more commercial business. This can be done by making the urban environment more attractive for pedestrians in general and modifying the regulation to include these uses. In general the project defines the standardization of sidewalks across the neighborhood to accommodate pedestrian features (trees, benches, and signage)
