    Social, Environmental, and Economic Fundamentals for the Development of a Biosphere Reserve in the Mining Area of South Ural

    The paper dwells upon the theoretical foundations and practical issues of the development of a biosphere reserve as a component of a major social, environmental, and economic system. Mining South Ural is a biosphere reserve that is cited as an example of how the success of its development depends on the opportunity and adequacy of adapting the requirements of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves regulations (the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere program) to the historical specific issues of the reserve and its surrounding areas. Particular attention is paid to the specific matters of how the biosphere reserve has been formed under the conditions of the spatial integration of natural and urbanized areas of the old industrial region. The paper demonstrates the specifics of creating project-based solutions and drafting a biosphere reserve management plan for industrially developed areas

    Lanthanide ions doping effects on structural, electrophysical and functional properties of sol-gel fabricated PbTiO<sub>3 thin films

    Perovskite-type lead titanate-based ferroelectrics became the most prominent candidates for applications in different kinds of modern transducers, sensors and actuators. Particular interest in these materials is driven by their unique dielectric, ferroelectric, pyroelectric and piezoelectric characteristics. The application of these materials in thin film form is even more attractive since it allows direct integration into existent semiconductor technology. The properties of lead-titanate based ferroelectrics are known to strongly depend on the stoichiometry and nature of substituent elements either on Pb (A) or Ti (B) sites. In this respect, appropriate doping by different elements offers the possibility to tune materials functional properties. A modified sol-gel method was adopted to fabricate lead titanate thin films doped with Ce, Sm, Dy, Er and Yb. The structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, leakage current and functional properties were investigated in order to reveal the effects of nature and concentration of doping ions, substrate heterostructure and film thickness on the main characteristics of the films

    The article analyzes the changes in the regulatory and legal framework related to the development of the main document on oil spill response planning. the key points of the regulatory and methodological framework applied until January 1, 2021, which should have been given special attention, are highlighted. The second part of the article analyzes the updated regulatory and legal framework for preventing and responding to spills. the third part provides a comparative analysis of the old and new legislation governing the development of oil and petroleum product spill prevention and response plan, and also discusses some methodological aspects. The results of the analysis are formulated in the conclusion. It is noted that despite innovations, scientific and methodological support of development remains insufficient

    Three-cell traveling wave superconducting test structure

    Use of a superconducting traveling wave accelerating (STWA) structure with a small phase advance per cell rather than a standing wave structure may provide a significant increase of the accelerating gradient in the ILC linac. For the same surface electric and magnetic fields the STWA achieves an accelerating gradient 1.2 larger than TESLA-like standing wave cavities. The STWA allows also longer acceleration cavities, reducing the number of gaps between them. However, the STWA structure requires a SC feedback waveguide to return the few hundreds of MW of circulating RF power from the structure output to the structure input. A test single-cell cavity with feedback was designed, manufactured and successfully tested demonstrating the possibility of a proper processing to achieve a high accelerating gradient. These results open way to take the next step of the TW SC cavity development: to build and test a traveling-wave three-cell cavity with a feedback waveguide.
