Interacting Ricci Dark Energy and its Statefinder Description
In this paper we have considered an interacting Ricci dark energy in flat FRW
universe. We have reconstructed the Hubble's parameter under this interaction.
Also, we have investigated the statefinder diagnostics. It has been revealed
that the equation of state parameter behaves like quintessence in this
interaction and from the statefinder diagnostics it has been concluded that the
interacting Ricci dark energy interpolates between dust and CDM stages
of the universe.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figure
Acid epimerization of 20-keto pregnane glycosides is determined by 2D-NMR spectroscopy
Carbohydrates influence many essential biological events such as apoptosis, differentiation, tumor metastasis, cancer, neurobiology, immunology, development, host-pathogen interactions, diabetes, signal transduction, protein folding, and many other contexts. We now report on the structure determination of pregnane glycosides isolated from the aerial parts of Ceropegia fusca Bolle (Asclepiadaceae). The observation of cicatrizant, vulnerary and cytostatic activities in some humans and animals of Ceropegia fusca Bolle, a species endemic to the Canary Islands, encouraged us to begin a pharmacological study to determine their exact therapeutic properties. High resolution 1H-NMR spectra of pregnane glycosides very often display well-resolved signals that can be used as starting points in several selective NMR experiments to study scalar (J coupling), and dipolar (NOE) interactions. ROESY is especially suited for molecules such that ωτc ~ 1, where τc are the motional correlation times and ω is the angular frequency. In these cases the NOE is nearly zero, while the rotating-frame Overhauser effect spectroscopy (ROESY) is always positive and increases monotonically for increasing values of τc. The ROESY shows dipolar interactions cross peaks even in medium-sized molecules which are helpful in unambiguous assignment of all the interglycosidic linkages. Selective excitation was carried out using a double pulsed-field gradient spin-echo sequence (DPFGSE) in which 180° Gaussian pulses are sandwiched between sine shaped z-gradients. Scalar interactions were studied by homonuclear DPFGSE-COSY and DPFGSE-TOCSY experiments, while DPFGSE-ROESY was used to monitor the spatial environment of the selectively excited proton. Dipolar interactions between nuclei close in space can be detected by the 1D GROESY experiment, which is a one-dimensional counterpart of the 2D ROESY method. The C-12 and C-17 configurations were determined by ROESY experiments
A multi-indices based method for fuzzy number comparison and ranking in fuzzy decision making
In this paper we present a multi-indices based method that can be used to compare and rank fuzzy numbers in decision making under uncertainty. The concepts of Euclidean distance and fuzzy maximum are effectively combined for determining each fuzzy number's performance index value in the process of fuzzy number comparison and ranking. To address the concern of this ranking index, two additional indices are introduced. As a result, all the information available in existing fuzzy numbers has been considered, and satisfactory ranking outcomes can be obtained. We further present representative examples in the fuzzy number ranking literature in order to illustrate the proposed method's applicability for effective fuzzy number comparison and ranking in fuzzy decision making

The relationship between observing behavior and food-key response rates under mixed and multiple schedules of reinforcement
Pigeons were trained under an observing response procedure in which pecks on one key (food key) were reinforced under a mixed fixed-interval 30-sec extinction schedule. A response on a second (observing) key replaced the mixed-schedule stimulus with either of two multiple-schedule stimuli (red and green keylights) for 5 sec. Observing response rates were positively correlated with food-key response rates in the presence of multiple-schedule stimuli and inversely related to food-key response rates in the presence of mixed-schedule stimuli. These results suggest that observing response output is controlled not only by the stimuli produced by observing responses but also by the stimuli in the presence of which observing responses occur. The possibility that observing responses alter the probability of reinforcement is advanced

Space station biomining experiment demonstrates rare earth element extraction in microgravity and Mars gravity
Microorganisms are employed to mine economically important elements from rocks,
including the rare earth elements (REEs), used in electronic industries and alloy production.
We carried out a mining experiment on the International Space Station to test hypotheses on
the bioleaching of REEs from basaltic rock in microgravity and simulated Mars and Earth
gravities using three microorganisms and a purposely designed biomining reactor. Sphingomonas desiccabilis enhanced mean leached concentrations of REEs compared to non-biological
controls in all gravity conditions. No significant difference in final yields was observed
between gravity conditions, showing the efficacy of the process under different gravity
regimens. Bacillus subtilis exhibited a reduction in bioleaching efficacy and Cupriavidus
metallidurans showed no difference compared to non-biological controls, showing the
microbial specificity of the process, as on Earth. These data demonstrate the potential for
space biomining and the principles of a reactor to advance human industry and mining
beyond Earth
