“A basis for the next technological revolution”, could be the exact phrase to express the giant leap made with the development of nanotechnology, which is defned as a branch of engineering that deals with creating objects smaller than 100 nm in dimension. Challenges, in its own distinctive indeed, brought by nanotechnology to our social aspect, notably: (i) handling matter at the atomic scale means that qualitatively different behavior needs to be taken into account, and (ii) regarding to the use for humankind, introduces the problem of handling vast number of entities. This article aims to seek the answer the challenge lies before nanotechnology development in Indonesia: the Patent. To what extent national legal framework on patent could encounter this rapid development of nanotechnology. Further the article focusses on the legal framework needed to guarantee the patent for nanotechnology.

Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3 in Indonesian abbreviation) have specific types and characteristics which could harm the environment itself and/or human health and other living being if thrown away to the environmental medium without proper treatment. On this basis, integrated hazardous waste treatment is needed to be regulated in a regulatory framework. Indonesian environmental law regime under Law no 32/2009 (EPMA) has given an integrated regulatory framework which intertwined every knot of hazardous and toxic waste treatment, including: containment, collecting, transporting, treatment, reuse, and dumping by Government Regulation No 101 year 2014. This article briefly explains the hazardous and toxic waste integrated treatment in Indonesia, both from the regulatory framework perspective and from environmental law aspect analysis.

Design optimisation of CO2 gas cooler/condenser in a refrigeration system

© 2015 Elsevier Ltd. As a natural working fluid, CO2 has been widely applied in refrigeration systems where heat is conventionally released to ambient through external airflow. Owing to its extraordinary thermophysical properties, especially a low critical temperature, the CO2 heat release through a high-pressure side heat exchanger will inevitably undergo either supercritical or subcritical processes, depending on ambient air temperatures and head pressure controls. Correspondingly, the heat exchanger will act intermittently as either a gas cooler or condenser within the system during an annual operation. Such evidence should therefore be taken into account for an optimal design of the heat exchanger and head pressure controls in order to significantly enhance the performance of both components and the associated system. To achieve these targets, two CO2 finned-tube gas coolers/condensers with different structural designs and controls have been purposely built, instrumented and connected with an existing test rig of a CO2 booster refrigeration system. Consequently, the performance of the CO2 gas coolers/condensers with different structure designs, controls and system integration at different operating conditions can be thoroughly investigated through experimentation. In the meantime, models of the finned-tube CO2 gas coolers/condensers have been developed using both the distributed (detailed model) and lumped (simple model) methods. The former is employed to give a detailed prediction of the working fluid temperature profiles, localised heat transfer rates and effects of pipe circuitry arrangements, while the latter is suitable for the simulation and optimisation of system integration with less computation time. Both models have been validated with measurements, and moreover the simple model has been integrated with other component models so as to create a system model. The effects of the CO2 gas cooler/condenser sizes and controls on the system performance can thus be compared and analysed

The aim of the study was to know the population condition in savannah invaded by plant of Melaleuca sp and Eucalyptus sp specially disavan of mixture Ud-Udi. Useful research as reference data in nimble population walabi management in Wasur National Park. Method used of strip transect and plot the swampy forest animal. Perception conducted at three band that is band ecoton, savana band which abut the ecoton and band of mixture savana. This research is executed by during one month that is from april until may 2008. From result invetarisation obtained by that average of density the nimble walabi at Udi-Udi mixture savana is 0,67 tail per hectare. Highest density that is at band ecoton with the density 1,67 tail per hectare. From this result is known that by the nimble walabi prefer to be at the band ecoton compared to by band of mixture savannah which abut the forest of mixture and band of mixture savana. This density is compared to by smaller of density of savana ukra (pure savana not yet invasion). Structure old age the nimble walabi with the adult composition 17 tail (77,27%), 2 tail (9,09%) and child 3 tail ( 13,64%). Sex-ratio of reproduction at nimble walabi is sex-ratio at adult walabi, adult female and adult masculine comparison is 1 1. Totalizeing child individual is 3 adult female individual amount and tail is 9, is hence obtained by a harsh birth value of nimble walabi in Udi - Udi of mixture savana of equal to 33%. Nimble walabi mortality in Udi - Udi of mixture savana difficult to be known. From perception activity in field is not found by a dead individual. Pursuant to result analyse the test of chi square , obtained by pattern of nimble spreading spasial walabi in Udi - Udi savana is group in band ecoton by ID = 3,52 (more than 1 group d= 12,36; d > 1,96 group)

The aim of this study is to explore the effect of motorization to the development of urban public transportation in urban areas in Indonesian city in the last decade. The study employs many statistical data regarding motorization and urban public transport. It can be concluded that the motorization will continue to grow, and the existing transport policy should be re-questioned. It roots on the lack of acceptable provision of public transport in term of quality and quantity, but also as a result of high preference on using private transport. The challenge becomes excessive and complex, since there is no appropriate visionary road map for development of urban public transport. In answering this problem, the authors propose an abstract of two sequence approach, namely setting priority in taking side in provision of acceptable mobility for all, and followed with the redefinition of urban transport development by implementing transit-oriented development

The existing cacao industry in West Sumatera is a small scale cacao industry. One of the risks encountered in this industry is that the production does not meet the target and the specification set, resulting in the difficulties for the industry to develop. The objective of the research is to conduct a supply chain risk management in the small scale cacao industry in West Sumatera. . This research used a survey approach method. While the data collected were primary and secondary data. The supply chain management process used descriptive method and Analytic Network Process (ANP). Study on cacao industry chain supply risk source showed indicates that production risks are in the highest priority with a value of 21.78%. The marketing, financial, institutional and human resource risks have the same priority risk i.e. 19.55%. The highest priority of risk types includes the risk of availability of industrial capital, government policy, skills and personal knowledge, and production process cost, with the priority values of 0.102634; 0.101024; 0.099903; and 0.041294 respectively. An alternative risk control priority is to weaken risk (0.39191), and risk segregation (0.25798). Supply chain risk management needs to be held by weakening and segregating risks through improving product management, supply management and information management prioritized on procurement and production processes, thereby enhancing the quality and quantity of processed cocoa products on an ongoing basis. The results of the study can become an input to stakeholders related to the development of small-scale cocoa industry in West Sumatera
