Data for nutritional knowledge and practice among patients with non-communicable diseases attending Mbale Regional Referral Hospital in Eastern Uganda
This dataset is obtained from a study that aimed at assessing nutrition knowledge and practices among NCD patients attending Mbale Regional Referral hospital. From the data presented, most respondents were female (n= 157, 60.4%) and majority (n=138, 53.1%) were in the age group of 35-59 years. The mean age was 55 years (SD= 14) and a range of 19 to 90. Most respondents (n=156, 60%) had a high level of nutrition knowledge, however only 48.8% (n=127) were utilizing the knowledge. Hospital was the main source of nutrition information (n=243, 23. 1%). Patients who had attained secondary level of education were 2.308 more likely to utilize the nutrition knowledge than those who had never studied p value of 0.028, 95CI (1.093-4.874). Those with tertiary education were even 9.261 times more likely to utilize the knowledge. Those with adequate knowledge were about 1.6 times most likely to utilize the nutrition knowledge compared to those with inadequate knowledge level, though the results were not statistically significant, p value 0.098. The data can be used to show the association between nutritional knowledge, level of education, utilization of the knowledge among patients with NCDs. It can also be very vital in policy formulation. From the current dataset, NCD patients had adequate knowledge, with a few of them utilizing the knowledge and high education level was associated with better nutrition practices
Data for green synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles from ethanolic extracts of fruits of Annona muricata
This data was obtained from the synthesis and characterization of highly stable silver nanoparticles from ethanolic extracts of fruits of Annona muricata. AgNPs can be synthesized from Annona muricata fruits (AgNPs-F) using AgNO3 solution. The AgNPs can be characterized using spectroscopy and microscopy techniques. The data is composed of images, Microsoft excel data sheets, tables, among others. The data can be used by researchers undertaking similar research involving synthesis of AgNPs using fruit extracts of Annona muricata or any other plant species belonging to the same family. It can also be used to compare results from similar studies and or even replicate research as presented herein
Data for green synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles from ethanolic extracts of leaves of Annona muricata
This data was obtained from the synthesis and characterization of highly stable silver nanoparticles from ethanolic extracts of leaves of Annona muricata. AgNPs can be synthesized from Annona muricata leaves (AgNPs-L) using AgNO3 solution. The AgNPs can be characterized using spectroscopy and microscopy techniques. The data is composed of images, Microsoft excel data sheets, tables, among others. The data can be used by researchers undertaking similar research involving synthesis of AgNPs using leaves extracts of Annona muricata or any other plant species belonging to the same family.
