    Fluor albus is a genital disorder symptoms by women because of infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var Rubrum) is one of the natural ingredients has been used the potential as antifungal because of the content the active compound for example flavonoids, alkaloids, tannin, saponin and terpenoid. In this research, examines the effects of antifungal C. albicans ethanol extract red ginger after formulated vaginal douche with varying concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. vaginal douche is made using by soap base sodium lauryl sulfate, citric acid, sodium chloride, propilenglikol and water. Red ginger extraction methods remaserasi for 5 days using ethanol 96% by the turn of the solvent every 24 hours. Test power using the antifungal C. albicans on PDA medium. Evaluation of vaginal douche red ginger extract consist of organoleptic, homogenity, specific of gravity, pH, and antifungal effect. The results showed that the concentration of ethanol extract red ginger 10%, 15% and 20% have antifungal activity against C. albicans. Power test vaginal douche red ginger activity lower than vaginal douche containing povidone iodine as an active ingredient with the analysis results were significantly different (p <0.05)

    Immunomodulatory compounds that alter the activity of the immune system with the dynamic regulation of immune cells such as cytokine. There are two types of immune responses that may occur when the body is exposed to a foreign substance, the immune response is non-specific and specific. This study aims to determine the immunomodulatory activity of the ethyl acetate fraction of leaf Som Java (Talinumpaniculatum (Jacq.) Gaertn) towards the non-specific immune responses. Test a non-specific immune response by using carbon clearance index and lymphoid organs. Analysis of data obtained using SPSS version 16.0. Carbon clearance test results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves 50 mg/kg bw are immunostimulatory being the phagocytic index (K) 1,34. While the ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves 100 and 150 mg/kg bw is a powerful immunostimulant with phagocytic index (K)> 1,5. The test results lymphoid organs index showed significant differences percent index of liver, spleen, and thymus between ethyl acetate fractionSom Java leaves three doses with the negative control. Based on the test results of non-specific immune responses can be summed ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves have immunostimulatory activity

    SARI Infeksi adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh mikroba patogen. Salah satu bakteri patogen penyebab infeksi adalah Staphylococcus aureus. Umbi bawang merah dan daun kemangi merupakan tanaman yang dapat digunakan untuk mengobati infeksi bakteri gram positif Staphylococcus aureus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan konsentrasi efektif kombinasi minyak atsiri umbi bawang merah (Allium cepa L.) dan daun kemangi (Ocimum americanum L.) dengan perbandingan kombinasi 1:0; 0:1; 1:1; 1:2 dan 2:1 terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan aktivitas antibakteri kombinasi dari konsentrasi efektif minyak atsiri umbi bawang merah dan daun kemangi dengan perbandingan 1:0; 0:1;1:1; 2:1 dan 1:2 terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphlococcus aureus secara berurutan yaitu sebesar 1,057; 1,300; 1,385; 1,354 dan 2,043 cm.     Abstract Photoaging is a common problem that occurs in our community due to ongoing exposure to ultraviolet rays. The use of antioxidants is an effective approach to prevent symptoms related to photo-induced aging of the skin. The objective of this study was to purification alkaloid and to formulate antioxidant cream extract Perna viridis. Thus, the present study was to prepare and evaluate the antioxidant cream extracts of Perna viridis for their radical scavenging activity. Perna viridis is one of the economically important biotas. This biota is diverse in Indonesia waters and occurred in coastal, mangrove area and estuarine. Initially, the material was macerated gradually with ethanol. The extract obtained was filtered and evaporated. The extracts were fractionated and analyzed by Thin-layer Chromatography. The extracts were examined for DPPH (2, 2 - diphenyl - 1- picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity with reference standard ascorbic acid through in vitro models. The ethanolic extract Perna viridis was found to act in scavenging DPPH radicals with ascorbic acid used as the reference standard, and an IC50 value was found to be 90.17 μg/mL. The results showed that these extracts of Perna viridis could be considered as natural antioxidants and may be useful for curing diseases arising from oxidative deterioration.</jats:p

    Abstract The presented study aimed to characterize the content, biological activity and formulation of extracts prepared from dried Stevia rebaudiana Bert leaves. Stevia rebaudiana Bert is the leaves that have antioxidant activity. The leaves, stems and flowers of stevia contain a complex mixture of sweet diterpene glycosides, including isosteviol, stevioside, rebaudioside (A, B, C, D, E, and F), steviolbioside and dulcoside A. In addition to glycosides, the leaves of stevia also contain other phytoconstituents, such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, fatty acids, proteins, and vitamins. These compounds can prevent and retain free radicals substitution, which can cause aging and chronic diseases. The extract obtained was filtered and evaporated — determination of total phenolics and total flavonoid using spectrophotometric methods. The antioxidant potential of this extract was evaluated by 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. In the DPPH radical-scavenging activities, the extract had the antioxidant activity (IC50 = 48.18 μg / ml). The results showed that these extracts of Stevia rebaudiana Bert could be considered as natural antioxidants. The evaluation of the formulated cream showed good results and can be good potential for cosmetic product development.</jats:p
