Given that autonomy-supportive teaching has the potential to enhance students’ learning motivation and promote their self-development, it is of immense value and far-reaching significance to assist novice teachers in mastering and employing this teaching method effectively. The study employs multi-variable linear regression to analyze the factors influencing novice teachers’ use of the autonomy-supportive teaching method and Shapley value decomposition to reveal the contribution rate of each variable. The analysis is based on data extracted from a large-scale survey of urban districts. The findings of the study are as below: (i) Scientific research literacy, professional knowledge, professional competence, and job satisfaction have a significant impact on novice teachers’ adoption of the autonomy-supportive teaching method; (ii) the greatest impact is exerted by scientific research literacy, followed by professional competence and professional knowledge. Therefore, teacher professional development is the key to the successful implementation of autonomy-supportive teaching by novice teachers, while environmental support is the path. To accomplish this, it is necessary to improve their scientific research literacy and emphasize the application of their scientific research results; expand their professional knowledge and skills; increase the frequency of in-service training and create a positive development environment; encourage professional exchanges and eliminate utilitarian competition; and motivate teachers’ pursuit of life meaning and attend to their emotional needs

Introduction:The diagnostic accuracy of traditional imaging examination in predicting ypT stage of rectal cancer after neoadjuvant therapy is significantly reduced, which would affect patients’ subsequent treatment choices. This study aimed to investigate the use of endorectal shear wave elastography (SWE) for diagnosing ypT0 stage of rectal cancer after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT).Methods:Sixty patients with rectal cancer were prospectively recruited in this study. Data on endorectal ultrasound (ERUS) and SWE parameters were collected before nCRT and 6–8 weeks after nCRT. Postoperative pathological results were the gold standard for evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of SWE and ERUS in predicting the ypT0 stage of rectal cancer after nCRT. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the cut-off values of the SWE parameters that best corresponded to the ypT0 stage and analyze the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. Results:The diagnostic accuracies of using ERUS to predict the ypT and ypT0 stages of rectal cancer after nCRT were 58.1% (18/31) and 64.3% (9/14), respectively. The ROC curve was constructed with the lesion’s Emean, Emean corrected (EC), Emean difference (ED), Emean corrected differencede (ECD), Emean descendding rate (EDR) and Emean corrected descendding rate (ECDR) values after nCRT, the cut-off values of diagnosing the ypT0 stage were 64.40 kPa, 55.45 kPa, 72.55 kPa, 73.75 kPa, 50.15%, and 55.93%, respectively; the area under the curve (AUC) for diagnosing the ypT0 stage was 0.924, 0.933, 0.748, 0.729, 0.857 and 0.861, respectively. The EC value showed the best diagnostic performance. Conclusion:SWE could improve the accuracy of conventional ERUS in diagnosing the ypT0 stage of rectal cancer after nCRT. It is expected to become a new method to help predict pathological complete responses in clinical practice and provide new evidence for the watch-and-wait approach

To reduce its environmental impacts, numerous efforts are focused on finding sustainable and eco‐friendly approaches to textile recycling. However, waste textiles and fibers are still mainly disposed of in landfills or by incineration after their service life and thereby pollute the natural environment, as there is still no effective strategy to separate natural fibers from chemical fibers. Herein, a green chemistry strategy is developed for the separation and regeneration of waste textiles at the molecular level. Cellulose/wool keratin composite fibers and multicomponent fibers are regenerated from waste textiles via a green chemical process. The strategy attempts to reduce the large amount of waste textiles generated by the fast‐developing fashion industry and provide a new source of fibers, which can also address the fossil fuel reserve shortages caused by chemical fiber industries and global food shortages caused by natural fiber production

BackgroundImmunoglobulin G4-related sclerosing cholangitis (IgG4-SC) is frequently accompanied with type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP). Isolated IgG4-SC which is not accompanied with AIP is uncommon in clinical practice, and its manifestations are similar to those of hilar cholangiocarcinoma.Case presentationA 55-year-old male presented with persistent aggravation of icteric sclera and skin. He was initially diagnosed with hilar cholangiocarcinoma and underwent surgery. However, positive IgG4 plasma cells were found in the surgical specimens. Thus, a pathological diagnosis of IgG4-SC was established. After that, steroid therapy was given and initially effective. But he was steroid dependent, and then received rituximab therapy twice. Unfortunately, the response to rituximab therapy was poor.ConclusionIt is crucial to differentiate isolated IgG4-SC from hilar cholangiocarcinoma to avoid unnecessary surgery. Future studies should further explore effective treatment strategy in patients who do not respond to steroids therapy. It is also required to develop novel and accurate diagnostic approaches to avoid unnecessary surgical procedures

Background Currently, there is no clinically relevant non-invasive biomarker for early detection of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Herein, we established and evaluated a circulating microRNA (miRNA)-based signature for the early detection of ESCC using a systematic genome-wide miRNA expression profiling analysis. Methods We performed miRNA candidate discovery using three ESCC tissue miRNA datasets (n = 108, 238, and 216) and the candidate miRNAs were confirmed in tissue specimens (n = 64) by qRT-PCR. Using a serum training cohort (n = 408), we conducted multivariate logistic regression analysis to develop an ESCC circulating miRNA signature and the signature was subsequently validated in two independent retrospective and two prospective cohorts. Results We identified eighteen initial miRNA candidates from three miRNA expression datasets (n = 108, 238, and 216) and subsequently validated their expression in ESCC tissues. We thereafter confirmed the overexpression of 8 miRNAs (miR-103, miR-106b, miR-151, miR-17, miR-181a, miR-21, miR-25, and miR-93) in serum specimens. Using a serum training cohort, we developed a circulating miRNA signature (AUC:0.83 [95%CI:0.79–0.87]) and the diagnostic performance of the miRNA signature was confirmed in two independent validation cohorts (n = 126, AUC:0.80 [95%CI:0.69–0.91]; and n = 165, AUC:0.89 [95%CI:0.83–0.94]). Finally, we demonstrated the diagnostic performance of the 8-miRNA signature in two prospective cohorts (n = 185, AUC:0.92, [95%CI:0.87–0.96]); and (n = 188, AUC:0.93, [95%CI:0.88–0.97]). Importantly, the 8-miRNA signature was superior to current clinical serological markers in discriminating early stage ESCC patients from healthy controls (p < 0.001). Conclusions We have developed a novel and robust circulating miRNA-based signature for early detection of ESCC, which was successfully validated in multiple retrospective and prospective multinational, multicenter cohorts

Real-time Monitoring for the Next Core-Collapse Supernova in JUNO

Core-collapse supernova (CCSN) is one of the most energetic astrophysical events in the Universe. The early and prompt detection of neutrinos before (pre-SN) and during the SN burst is a unique opportunity to realize the multi-messenger observation of the CCSN events. In this work, we describe the monitoring concept and present the sensitivity of the system to the pre-SN and SN neutrinos at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), which is a 20 kton liquid scintillator detector under construction in South China. The real-time monitoring system is designed with both the prompt monitors on the electronic board and online monitors at the data acquisition stage, in order to ensure both the alert speed and alert coverage of progenitor stars. By assuming a false alert rate of 1 per year, this monitoring system can be sensitive to the pre-SN neutrinos up to the distance of about 1.6 (0.9) kpc and SN neutrinos up to about 370 (360) kpc for a progenitor mass of 30MM_{\odot} for the case of normal (inverted) mass ordering. The pointing ability of the CCSN is evaluated by using the accumulated event anisotropy of the inverse beta decay interactions from pre-SN or SN neutrinos, which, along with the early alert, can play important roles for the followup multi-messenger observations of the next Galactic or nearby extragalactic CCSN.Comment: 24 pages, 9 figure

Detection of the Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background with JUNO

As an underground multi-purpose neutrino detector with 20 kton liquid scintillator, Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is competitive with and complementary to the water-Cherenkov detectors on the search for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB). Typical supernova models predict 2-4 events per year within the optimal observation window in the JUNO detector. The dominant background is from the neutral-current (NC) interaction of atmospheric neutrinos with 12C nuclei, which surpasses the DSNB by more than one order of magnitude. We evaluated the systematic uncertainty of NC background from the spread of a variety of data-driven models and further developed a method to determine NC background within 15\% with {\it{in}} {\it{situ}} measurements after ten years of running. Besides, the NC-like backgrounds can be effectively suppressed by the intrinsic pulse-shape discrimination (PSD) capabilities of liquid scintillators. In this talk, I will present in detail the improvements on NC background uncertainty evaluation, PSD discriminator development, and finally, the potential of DSNB sensitivity in JUNO

Potential of Core-Collapse Supernova Neutrino Detection at JUNO

JUNO is an underground neutrino observatory under construction in Jiangmen, China. It uses 20kton liquid scintillator as target, which enables it to detect supernova burst neutrinos of a large statistics for the next galactic core-collapse supernova (CCSN) and also pre-supernova neutrinos from the nearby CCSN progenitors. All flavors of supernova burst neutrinos can be detected by JUNO via several interaction channels, including inverse beta decay, elastic scattering on electron and proton, interactions on C12 nuclei, etc. This retains the possibility for JUNO to reconstruct the energy spectra of supernova burst neutrinos of all flavors. The real time monitoring systems based on FPGA and DAQ are under development in JUNO, which allow prompt alert and trigger-less data acquisition of CCSN events. The alert performances of both monitoring systems have been thoroughly studied using simulations. Moreover, once a CCSN is tagged, the system can give fast characterizations, such as directionality and light curve
