Experimental investigation on lightweight composite slab system with hollow box beam for flood resistant
Composite slabs are gaining wide acceptance in many countries as they are faster, lighter and economical in construction buildings. The ultimate behaviour of steel-concrete Lightweight composite slab system with hollow box beamis experimentally investigated in this paper. The strength of composite slabs system relies on the bonding action between the concrete and the steel deck, the shear connections and the cross sectional resistance of steel beam. However, structural behaviour of composite slab is complex phenomenon and therefore experimental study is often conducted to establish the strength of the structure under ultimate load capacity. The main objective of this study is to determine the structural behaviour of lightweight composite slab system with hollow box beam, compare the analysis and design method according to Eurocode 4. Total of two specimens are examined in order to obtain failure mechanism of the composite structure under full load capacity. A new design approach of composite slab for roofing system is proposed in this study and compared to experimental result. The comparison shows good agreement between experiment and theoretical results
Helicity hardens the gas
A screw generally works better than a nail, or a complicated rope knot better
than a simple one, in fastening solid matter, but a gas is more tameless.
However, a flow itself has a physical quantity, helicity, measuring the
screwing strength of the velocity field and the degree of the knottedness of
the vorticity ropes. It is shown that helicity favors the partition of energy
to the vortical modes, compared to others such as the dilatation and pressure
modes of turbulence; that is, helicity stiffens the flow, with nontrivial
implications for aerodynamics, such as aeroacoustics, and conducting fluids,
among others
DEFINITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE CORE COMPETENCE IN REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY
The real estate is a very high risk profession. Its funds devotion is big, the operation period is long and the market change quickly. At the same time, the real estate has to face the high level competition that brought by international capital investment. The key to deal with these problems is how to set up and enhance the core competence of the real estate industry while integrating the strategic resources. In this paper we will analyze the features of core competence, thus define the core competence in real estate Industry. The main competition factors of real estate industry include land resources, capital scale and market management. Accordingly, we put forward the solution to establish the core competence of real estate industry. Key words: Core competence, Real estate, Investmen
Therapeutic effect of modified trabeculectomy in treatment of neovascular glaucoma
AIM: To analyze the effect of modified trabeculectomy in the treatment of neovascular glaucoma.<p>METHODS: There were 44 cases of neovascular glaucoma enrolled during June 2008 to December 2012. They were randomly divided into experimental group(22 cases)and control group(22 cases). The experimental group were treated with the modified trabeculectomy, and the control group were treated with cyclocryotherapy. Therapeutic effect and complications between two groups were compared. <p>RESULTS: Introocular pressure in both groups were significantly lower after treatment than before treatment(<i>P</i><0.01), but there was no obvious difference between two groups(<i>P</i>>0.05). The total effective 21 cases(95%)in experimental group was higher than that in the control group 16 cases(73%)and the difference had statistically significance(<i>χ</i>2=7.3789, <i>P</i><0.05). At the same time, the incidence of complications and severity in control group were significantly higher than that in the experimental group(<i>P</i><0.05). <p>CONCLUSION: For patients with neovascular glaucoma, modified trabeculectomy can effectively reduce the intraocular pressure, and significantly improve the treatment success rate, as well as reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions. It is a safe and effective method, so modified trabeculectomy should be applied widely in clinical practice

Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy for Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Infection
Nowadays methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the most common multidrug resistant bacteria both in hospitals and in the community. In the last two decades, there has been growing concern about the increasing resistance to MRSA of the most potent antibiotic glycopeptides. MRSA infection poses a serious problem for physicians and their patients. Photosensitizer-mediated antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (PDT) appears to be a promising and innovative approach for treating multidrug resistant infection. In spite of encouraging reports of the use of antimicrobial PDT to inactivate MRSA in large in vitro studies, there are only few in vivo studies. Therefore, applying PDT in the clinic for MRSA infection is still a long way off
