    Get PDF
Due to its high step-up voltage ratio, high utilization rate, and good stability, the bidirectional half-bridge current-doubler topology is widely used in lithium battery system. This paper will further analyze the bidirectional half-bridge current-doubler topology. Taking into account the fact that the current is not equal to the two times current inductance may lead to a greater transformer magnetizing current leaving the transformer core saturation occurring. This paper will focus on the circuit modeling of steady-state analysis and small signal analysis, analyzing the influence parameters for the inductor current by steady-state model and analyzing the stability of the system by the small signal model. The PID controllers and soft start algorithm are designed. Then the influence of circuit parameters on the steady state and the effect of soft start algorithm is verified, and finally the function of the soft start algorithm is achieved by the experimental prototype

On state instability of the bi-stable flow past a notchback bluff body

    Get PDF
The wake of a notchback Ahmed body presenting a bi-stable nature is investigated by performing wind tunnel experiments and large-eddy simulations. Attention is confined to the Reynolds number (Re) influence on the wake state instability within 5 x 10(4) <= Re <= 25 x 10(4). Experimental observations suggest a wake bi-stability with low-frequency switches under low Re. The wake becomes \u27tri-stable\u27 with the increase of Re with the introduction of a new symmetric state. The higher presence of the symmetric state can be considered as a symmetrization of the wake bi-stability with an increasing Re. The wake symmetry under high Re attributed to the highly frequent switches of the wake is extremely sensitive to small yaw angles, showing the feature of bi-stable flows. The wake asymmetry is confirmed in numerical simulations with both low and high Re. The wake asymmetries are indicated by the wake separation, the reattachment and the wake dynamics identified by the proper orthogonal decomposition. However, the turbulence level is found to be significantly higher with a higher Re. This leads to a higher possibility to break the asymmetric state, resulting in highly frequent switches showing symmetry

Comparison of flow characteristics behind squareback bluff-bodies with and without wheels

The wake dynamics of two referenced variations of the squareback Windsor model with and without wheels is numerically studied by performing improved delayed detached eddy simulation. Numerical assessments are validated against publicly available experimental data. The focus of this study is on the wake states influenced by the wheels and the thick oncoming floor boundary layer. Results show that the addition of the wheels significantly changes the aerodynamic forces, the underbody flow, and the wake topology. The wake bi-stability is also enhanced with wheels in place due to the increased curvature of lateral shear layers in the near wake. However, the bi-stable behavior is largely suppressed when immersed in a thick boundary layer. These alterations depend on the degree of interaction between the wake recirculation and the bottom flow, and such degree is strongly affected by the underbody flow momentum. The evolution of low-order flow organizations and complementary spectral analysis highlight the differences in the coherent dynamics of the wake. The finding of this present work suggests that the wake bi-stability behind the squareback body can exist not only for a simplified geometry but also for a more realistic car with wheels in real-world upstream conditions

Horizontal Pyramid Matching for Person Re-identification

Despite the remarkable recent progress, person re-identification (Re-ID) approaches are still suffering from the failure cases where the discriminative body parts are missing. To mitigate such cases, we propose a simple yet effective Horizontal Pyramid Matching (HPM) approach to fully exploit various partial information of a given person, so that correct person candidates can be still identified even even some key parts are missing. Within the HPM, we make the following contributions to produce a more robust feature representation for the Re-ID task: 1) we learn to classify using partial feature representations at different horizontal pyramid scales, which successfully enhance the discriminative capabilities of various person parts; 2) we exploit average and max pooling strategies to account for person-specific discriminative information in a global-local manner. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed HPM, extensive experiments are conducted on three popular benchmarks, including Market-1501, DukeMTMC-ReID and CUHK03. In particular, we achieve mAP scores of 83.1%, 74.5% and 59.7% on these benchmarks, which are the new state-of-the-arts. Our code is available on GithubComment: Accepted by AAAI 201

ObjectiveThe global mortality rates have surged due to the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), leading to a worldwide catastrophe. Increasing incidents of patients suffering from cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) exacerbations after either contracting COVID-19 or getting immunized against it, have been observed in recent research. However, the precise intricacies that prompt this unexpected complication are yet to be fully elucidated. This investigation seeks to probe into the molecular events inciting this adverse outcome.MethodGene expression patterns from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, specifically GSE171110 and GSE109248, were extracted. We then discovered common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in both COVID-19 and CLE. This led to the creation of functional annotations, formation of a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, and identification of key genes. Furthermore, regulatory networks relating to these shared DEGs and significant genes were constructed.ResultWe identified 214 overlapping DEGs in both COVID-19 and CLE datasets. The following functional enrichment analysis of these DEGs highlighted a significant enrichment in pathways related to virus response and infectious disease in both conditions. Next, a PPI network was constructed using bioinformatics tools, resulting in the identification of 5 hub genes. Finally, essential regulatory networks including transcription factor-gene and miRNA-gene interactions were determined.ConclusionOur findings demonstrate shared pathogenesis between COVID-19 and CLE, offering potential insights for future mechanistic investigations. And the identification of common pathways and key genes in these conditions may provide novel avenues for research

Thermoresponsive hydrogel is a type of material which can experience a reversible transition from hydrated state to dehydrate state. One of the well-studied materials PNIPAM, has a transition temperature around 32 ℃, has been widely chosen for biomedical applications. However, the biocompatibility and mechanical properties are not good enough, as well as the deformation when experienced temperature changes are difficult to fathom. The aim of this study is to introduce another hydrogel GelMA together with PNIPAM to develop a substrate with tunable mechanical properties. The mechanical and thermal properties of different concentration of these hydrogels were tested, and the bilayer structures were designed using Solidworks and the mechanical changes were simulated using commercial software COMSOL. The results show that different membrane devices composed of varying PNIPAM and GelMA underwent different deformation profile when experienced a temperature change. Generally speaking, this study serves as a foundation for development of themoresponsive membrane used for drug delivery device.Master of Science (Smart Manufacturing

    Binary Affinity Genetic Algorithm ∗

    No full text
Based on certain phenomena from the human society and nature, we propose a binary affinity genetic algorithm (aGA) by adopting the following strategies: the population is adaptively updated to avoid stagnation; the newly generated individuals are guaranteed to survive for certain number of generations in order for them to have enough time to develop their good genes; new individuals and the old ones are balanced to take both of their advantages. In order to quantitatively analyze the selective pressure, the concept of selection degree and a simple linear control equation are introduced. We can maintain the diversity of the evolutionary population by controlling the value of the selection degree. The performance of aGA is further enhanced by incorporating local search strategies
