Simultaneous CTEQ-TEA extraction of PDFs and SMEFT parameters from jet and ttĖ‰t{\bar t} data

Recasting phenomenological Lagrangians in terms of SM effective field theory (SMEFT) provides a valuable means of connecting potential BSM physics at momenta well above the electroweak scale to experimental signatures at lower energies. In this work we jointly fit the Wilson coefficients of SMEFT operators as well as the PDFs in an extension of the CT18 global analysis framework, obtaining self-consistent constraints to possible BSM physics effects. Global fits are boosted with machine-learning techniques in the form of neural networks to ensure efficient scans of the full PDF+SMEFT parameter space. We focus on several operators relevant for top-quark pair and jet production at hadron colliders and obtain constraints on the Wilson coefficients with Lagrange Multiplier scans. We find mild correlations between the extracted Wilson coefficients, PDFs, and other QCD parameters, and see indications that these correlations may become more prominent in future analyses based on data of higher precision. This work serves as a new platform for joint analyses of SM and BSM physics based on the CTEQ-TEA framework.Comment: 39 pages, 18 figure

With the intensification of competition in the business environment, organizational creativity is increasingly becoming crucial for organizations to build competitive advantages and promote organizational development. For innovative enterprises, their entrepreneurs largely determine the development orientation of the enterprise. They are one of the most critical factors determining the level of corporate innovation, but there need to be more effective creativity transformation path to pursue innovation development. The findings in this study show that entrepreneurial individual creativity has a significant positive effect on organizational creativity, platform leadership mediates the path of creativity transformation across hierarchical levels, and organizational culture has positive moderating effect between platform leadership and organizational creativity. The study results explain the transformation mechanism of creativity from the entrepreneur's perspective, expand the potential transformation path of organizational creativity, and are instructive for enhancing organizational creativity

IntroductionRecent genome-wide association studies in Caucasians revealed association with lung cancer risk of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the locus containing two nicotine acetylcholine receptor CHRNA genes. However, the reported risk SNPs are extremely rare in Asians. This study sought to identify other variants on CHRNA3 associated with lung cancer susceptibility and to explore whether SNPs of CHRNA3 are of prognostic factors in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in Chinese Han population.MethodsA case-control study of 529 cases and 567 controls was performed to study the association of three SNPs (rs3743076, rs3743078, and rs3743073) in CHRNA3 with lung cancer risk in Chinese Han population using logistic regression models. The relationship between CHRNA3 polymorphisms with overall survival among 122 patients with advanced stage (stage IIIb and IV) NSCLC were evaluated using Cox multiple model based on the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer recommended tumor, node, metastasis new staging.ResultsPatients with genotypes TG or GG for the novel SNP rs3743073 in CHRNA3 gene, compared with those with TT, showed an increased risk of lung cancer (adjusted odds ratio = 1.91; 95% confidence interval, 1.38ā€“2.63; p = 9.67 Ɨ 10āˆ’5) and worst survival (adjusted hazard ratio = 2.35; 95% confidence interval, 1.05ā€“5.26; p = 0.04) in patients with advanced stage NSCLC based on International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer recommended tumor, node, metastasis new staging.ConclusionsThese results suggest that the rs3743073 polymorphism in CHRNA3 is predictive for lung cancer risk and prognostic in advanced stage NSCLC in Chinese Han population

TarFisDock: a web server for identifying drug targets with docking approach

    Get PDF
TarFisDock is a web-based tool for automating the procedure of searching for small moleculeā€“protein interactions over a large repertoire of protein structures. It offers PDTD (potential drug target database), a target database containing 698 protein structures covering 15 therapeutic areas and a reverse ligandā€“protein docking program. In contrast to conventional ligandā€“protein docking, reverse ligandā€“protein docking aims to seek potential protein targets by screening an appropriate protein database. The input file of this web server is the small molecule to be tested, in standard mol2 format; TarFisDock then searches for possible binding proteins for the given small molecule by use of a docking approach. The ligandā€“protein interaction energy terms of the program DOCK are adopted for ranking the proteins. To test the reliability of the TarFisDock server, we searched the PDTD for putative binding proteins for vitamin E and 4H-tamoxifen. The top 2 and 10% candidates of vitamin E binding proteins identified by TarFisDock respectively cover 30 and 50% of reported targets verified or implicated by experiments; and 30 and 50% of experimentally confirmed targets for 4H-tamoxifen appear amongst the top 2 and 5% of the TarFisDock predicted candidates, respectively. Therefore, TarFisDock may be a useful tool for target identification, mechanism study of old drugs and probes discovered from natural products. TarFisDock and PDTD are available at

Genome-wide analysis of regulation of gene expression and H3K9me2 distribution by JIL-1 kinase mediated histone H3S10 phosphorylation in Drosophila

In this study we have determined the genome-wide relationship of JIL-1 kinase mediated H3S10 phosphorylation with gene expression and the distribution of the epigenetic H3K9me2 mark. We show in wild-type salivary gland cells that the H3S10ph mark is predominantly enriched at active genes whereas the H3K9me2 mark is largely associated with inactive genes. Comparison of global transcription profiles in salivary glands from wild-type and JIL-1 null mutant larvae revealed that the expression levels of 1539 genes changed at least 2-fold in the mutant and that a substantial number (49%) of these genes were upregulated whereas 51% were downregulated. Furthermore, the results showed that downregulation of genes in the mutant was correlated with higher levels or acquisition of the H3K9me2 mark whereas upregulation of a gene was correlated with loss of or diminished H3K9 dimethylation. These results are compatible with a model where gene expression levels are modulated by the levels of the H3K9me2 mark independent of the state of the H3S10ph mark, which is not required for either transcription or gene activation to occur. Rather, H3S10 phosphorylation functions to indirectly maintain active transcription by counteracting H3K9 dimethylation and gene silencing

Lithiumā€“sulfur (Liā€“S) batteries are famous for their high energy density and low cost, but prevented by sluggish redox kinetics of sulfur species due to depressive Li ion diffusion kinetics, especially under low-temperature environment. Herein, a combined strategy of electrocatalysis and pore sieving effect is put forward to dissociate the Li+ solvation structure to stimulate the free Li+ diffusion, further improving sulfur redox reaction kinetics. As a protocol, an electrocatalytic porous diffusion-boosted nitrogen-doped carbon-grafted-CoP nanosheet is designed via forming the NCoP active structure to release more free Li+ to react with sulfur species, as fully investigated by electrochemical tests, theoretical simulations and in situ/ex situ characterizations. As a result, the cells with diffusion booster achieve desirable lifespan of 800 cycles at 2 C and excellent rate capability (775 mAh gāˆ’1 at 3 C). Impressively, in a condition of high mass loading or low-temperature environment, the cell with 5.7 mg cmāˆ’2 stabilizes an areal capacity of 3.2 mAh cmāˆ’2 and the charming capacity of 647 mAh gāˆ’1 is obtained under 0 Ā°C after 80 cycles, demonstrating a promising route of providing more free Li ions toward practical high-energy Liā€“S batteries
