    The title compound, [CoBr2(C18H12N6S)], is a mononuclear complex in which a twofold rotation axis passes through the Co and S atoms. The CoII center is six-coordinated by four N atoms from one bis­[4-(2-pyrid­yl)pyrimidin-2-yl] sulfide (L) ligand and two bromide anions, forming an octa­hedral coordination geometry, where the four donor N atoms are located in the equatorial plane and the Br atoms occupy the axial positions. The sum of the bond angles around the Co atom in the equatorial plane is 360.5°, with the four N atoms and the central Co atom almost coplanar. In the crystal structure, the mononuclear units are linked by π–π stacking inter­actions (the inter­planar distances are 3.469 and 3.533 Å, and the corresponding centroid–centroid distances are 3.791 and 3.896 Å) into a three-dimensional supra­molecular network

    STAR-RIS Assisted Covert Communications in NOMA Systems

    Covert communications assisted by simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR-RIS) in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems have been explored in this paper. In particular, the access point (AP) transmitter adopts NOMA to serve a downlink covert user and a public user. The minimum detection error probability (DEP) at the warden is derived considering the uncertainty of its background noise, which is used as a covertness constraint. We aim at maximizing the covert rate of the system by jointly optimizing APs transmit power and passive beamforming of STAR-RIS, under the covertness and quality of service (QoS) constraints. An iterative algorithm is proposed to effectively solve the non-convex optimization problem. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms the conventional RIS-based scheme in ensuring system covert performance.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2305.04930, arXiv:2305.0399

    The title compound, C24H30O5, is the didehydro product of the steroid hellebrigenin (systematic name: 3β,5,14-trihy­droxy-19-oxo-5β-bufa-20,22-dienolide). It consists of three cyclo­hexane rings (A, B and C), a five-membered ring (D) and a six-membered lactone ring (E). The stereochemistry of the ring junctions are A/B cis, B/C trans and C/D cis. Cyclo­hexane rings A, B and C have normal chair conformations. The five-membered ring D with the C=C bond adopts an envelope conformation. Lactone ring E is essentially planar with a mean derivation of 0.006 (4) Å and is β-oriented at the C atom of ring D to which it is attached. There is an O—H⋯O hydrogen bond in the mol­ecule involving the hy­droxy groups. In the crystal, O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules into chains propagating along [010]. The chains are linked by C—H⋯O contacts into a three-dimensional network

    A Unified Quantum NOT Gate

    We study the feasibility of implementing a quantum NOT gate (approximate) when the quantum state lies between two latitudes on the Bloch's sphere and present an analytical formula for the optimized 1-to-MM quantum NOT gate. Our result generalizes previous results concerning quantum NOT gate for a quantum state distributed uniformly on the whole Bloch sphere as well as the phase covariant quantum state. We have also shown that such 1-to-MM optimized NOT gate can be implemented using a sequential generation scheme via matrix product states (MPS)

    Identification of Interleukin-9 Producing Immune Cells in Endometrial Carcinoma and Establishment of a Prognostic Nomogram

    Background: Interleukin-9 (IL9) plays a critical role in immunity and the pathogenesis of endometrial cancer (EC), especially endometrioid EC (EEC). This study aimed to identify the IL9+ immune cell subsets and their pleiotropic functions and establish an optimized prognostic nomogram towards the promotion of personalized treatment of EEC. Methods: 1,417 EC patients were involved in the present study. 143 patients from the tertiary gynecology centers in Shanghai between 2013 and 2019 were recruited, and the study protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital. The genomic data of the other 1,274 patients were extracted from the TCGA and the MSKCC datasets, respectively. Immune and stromal scores were calculated using the ESTIMATE R tool, and the tumor infiltration of immune cells was analyzed using the TIMER platform. Metascape and GEPIA datasets were used for bioinformatic analysis. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. All statistical analyses were performed with GraphPad Prism and R studio. Results: 552 genes that were correlated with leukocyte infiltration, lymphocyte activation, and regulation of innate immune response were up-regulated in the high immune score group. More IL9+ cell infiltration was detected in the highly and moderately differentiated EC (p = 0.04). High IL9+ lymphocyte infiltration was related to a better overall survival (p = 0.0027). IL9 positive cell clusters included ILC2s, Vδ2 γδT cells, mast cells, macrophages, and Th9 cells. Parameters such as FIGO stage, IL9 score, Vδ2 + γδT cell infiltration, classification of differentiation, and diabetes mellitus were assigned a weighted number of points in the nomogram for a specific predicted 3-, 5- and 10-year overall survival (OS). IL9–IL9R axis played a vital role in EEC, IL9R positive cell subgroups were also identified, and the related function was analyzed in the present study. Additionally, PR (Progesterone Receptor, or PGR) expression was relevant to a higher density of IL9+ lymphocyte infiltration. However, PGRMC1 (Progesterone Receptor Membrane Component 1) was negatively relevant to IL9R (p = 4.26e-8). Conclusion: We observed a significant infiltration of IL9+ cells and the overrepresentation of IL-9R in tissue specimens of patients in EC cases. The nomogram incorporating the IL9 could accurately predict individualized survival probability in EEC. Additionally, this study not only established a prognostic nomogram but also assist in the firmer understanding of the relevance of the IL9-IL9R axis and IL9-producing cells in EC immunity
