Composite Fault Diagnosis in Rotating Machinery Based on Multi-Feature Fusion

    Get PDF
The rotating machinery working in complex environments of petrochemical units often develops composite faults and its vibration signal exhibits multicoupling, fuzziness, and nonlinearity, making it difficult to effectively diagnose composite faults. This paper proposes a composite fault diagnosis for rotating machinery based on multi-feature fusion. This method firstly extracts the time domain, the frequency domain and the dimensionless feature information, using the correlation analysis and normalization to obtain bodies of evidence with different features. Then, according to the fusion rules of the evidence theory, the synthesis of different bodies of evidence is completed. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed method is verified. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method exceeds 90%, thus it has been shown that the composite fault diagnosis of rotating machinery in petrochemical units is effective

Hemp protein hydrolysates with various yields of trichloroacetic acid (TCA)-soluble peptides (Ysp) and surface hydrophobicity (Ho) were obtained by Neutrase® hydrolysis from hemp protein isolate (HPI). The peptide profiles, amino acid composition and antioxidant activities (DPPH radical scavenging ability, reducing power and Fe2+ chelating ability) of the hydrolysates, obtained at 60–240 min, were evaluated. Higher DPPH radical scavenging (IC50, 2.3–2.4 mg/mL) and Fe2+ chelating (IC50, 1.7–1.8 mg/mL) abilities were observed for the hydrolysates with Ysp in the range of 28–30 and 18–28 %, respectively, while the high reducing power was only observed for the hydrolysate with Ysp of 18 %. The DPPH radical scavenging and Fe2+ chelating abilities were closely correlated with the peptide profiles and Ho of the hydrolysates. The peptide profiles of the hydrolysates with higher hydrophobic amino acids exhibited higher DPPH radical scavenging and Fe2+ chelating abilities.Hidrolizom izolata proteina pomoću enzima Neutrase® dobiveni su hidrolizati proteina konoplje s različitim prinosom peptida topljivih u trikloroctenoj kiselini (Ysp) i hidrofobnošću površine (Ho).

Purpose: To investigate the protective effect of Evodia rutaecarpa (Juss.) Benth. extract (ERBE) against Alzheimer's disease in 3xTg-AD mice. Methods: The cognitive function of 3xTg-AD mice was assessed using Morris water maze test. The levels of amyloid beta deposits and NeuN in the mouse hippocampus were evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Brain neurotrophic derived factor (BDNF) and tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) expressions were determined by western blot analysis. Results: ERBE treatment significantly ameliorated learning and memory deficits in AD mice, as shown by increased time spent in the target zone during probe tests. The escape latency in the animals treated with 400 mg/kg ERBE (20.5 ± 1.3 s) was significantly higher than untreated 3xTg-AD mice (12.4 ± 1.3 s, p < 0.01). In addition, ERBE significantly decreased Aβ deposits, increased NeuN-positive cells, and upregulated the expressions of BDNF (1.4 ± 0.2, p < 0.05) and TrkB (1.1 ± 0.2, p < 0.05) in 3xTg AD mice. Conclusion: The results suggest that ERBE administration may be a useful strategy for treating memory impairment induced by several neurodegenerative diseases. Keywords: Evodia rutaecarpa, Alzheimer, Memory impairment, NeuN-positive cell

Sporadic meningioangiomatosis-associated atypical meningioma mimicking parenchymal invasion of brain: a case report and review of the literature

Meningioangiomatosis is a rare hamartomatous lesion or meningiovascular malformation in brain. In extremely rare condition, meningioma may occur together with meningioangiomatosis, and only 19 cases have been described in English literature until now. We now report a case of meningioangiomatosis-associated meningioma with atypical and clear cell variant. A 34-year-old man presented a 3-month history of progressive numbness and weakness of his left lower extremity. He had no stigmata of neurofibromatosis type 2. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed multifocal lesions in the right frontoparietal lobe. The lesions were totally removed. Microscopically, parts of lesions were atypical and clear cell meningioma corresponding to WHO grade II. The adjacent brain parenchyma showed the histological features of meningioangiomatosis. Neoplastic cells in atypical meningioma area were immunoreactive to epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) with high MIB-1 index of up to 20%. However, the spindle cells in meningioangiomatosis area were negative for EMA with low MIB-1 index of up to 1%. The diagnosis of atypical meningioma associated with sporadic meningioangiomatosis was made. To our knowledge, this is the first case of a meningioangiomatosis-associated meningioma with atypical and clear cell variant component to be described. The patient had been followed-up for 11 months without adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy. No tumor recurrence was found during this period. Meningioangiomatosis-associated meningioma is more likely to occur in younger patients and histologically to mimic parenchymal invasion of brain. We suggest that postoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy should be given careful consideration to avoid over-treatment due to erroneously interpret as malignant meningioma

Peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) is rare and difficult to treat for its high relapse rate. The authors report a case of PTCL of the skin, regarding which clinical and pathological features, treatment, and prognosis were discussed. A 66-year-old woman was admitted with complaints of enlarging erythematous noduloplaques on the right anterior tibial skin for one year and similar lesions on the left for 6 months. Surgical resection of right leg lesion and biopsy of enlarged inguinal lymph nodes histologically indicated a PTCL of the nasal type. The patient was treated by CHOP plus bortezomib, reached complete remission just after two courses of chemotherapy and then received another two as consolidation. The patient remained in remission for 11 months until local relapse. As for cutaneous lesions, detailed lymph node examination and prompt tissue biopsy are judicious choices prior to any medical management. The chemotherapy consisting of bortezomib and CHOP is safe and efficient in PTCL of the skin
