    Service Failure Complaints Identification in Social Media: A Text Classification Approach

    The emergence of social media has brought up plenty of platforms where dissatisfied customers can share their service encounter experiences. Those customers’ feedbacks have been widely recognized as valuable information sources for improving service quality. Due to the sparse distribution of customer complaints and diversity of topics related to non-complaints in social media, manually identifying complaints is time-consuming and inefficient. In this study, a supervised learning approach including samples enlargement and classifiers construct was proposed. Applying small labeled samples as training samples, reliable complaints samples and non-complaints samples were identified from the unlabeled dataset during the sample enlargement process. Combining the enlarged samples and the labeled samples, SVM and KNN algorithms were employed to construct the classifier. Empirical results show that the proposed approach can efficiently distinguish complaints from non-complaints in social media, especially when the number of labeled samples is very small

    Energy Efficient Power Allocation for Distributed Antenna System over Shadowed Nakagami Fading Channel

    In this paper, the energy efficiency (EE) of downlink distributed antenna system (DAS) with multiple receive antennas is investigated over composite fading channel that takes the path loss, shadow fading and Nakagami-m fading into account. Our aim is to maximize EE which is defined as the ratio of the transmission rate to the total consumed power under the constraints of maximum transmit power of each remote antenna. According to the definition of EE and using the upper bound of average EE, the optimized objective function is provided. Based on this, utilizing Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions and mathematical derivation, a suboptimal energy efficient power allocation (PA) scheme is developed, and closed-form PA coefficients are obtained. The developed scheme has the EE performance close to the existing optimal scheme. Moreover, it has relatively lower complexity than the existing scheme because only the statistic channel information and less iteration are required. Besides, it includes the scheme in composite Rayleigh channel as a special case. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the developed scheme

    Growing Business in Live Commerce: A Tripartite Perspective and Product Heterogeneity

    Live streaming becomes an important channel helping organizations and individual sellers boost their sales. Our research takes an integrated perspective and examines the simultaneous influences of streamers-, consumers-, and products-related factors on sales volume in live commerce. We apply multiple linear regression to analyze a panel data set collected from Taobao live in Double 11, 2020, which contained 34,925 product sales records. We find that streamers’ social capital, consumers’ engagement, and products’ live demonstration all significantly contribute to product sales volume. In addition, product heterogeneity matters in live commerce such that the effects of streamers’ social capital and products’ live demonstration on sales volume work only for experience products (not for search products) and for the products with less popular brands (not for the products with popular brands). Our research offers comprehensive insights for both researchers and practitioners on how to grow business in live commerce

    Coordinated Formation Control for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles in Multiple Traffic Scenarios

    In this paper, a unified multi-vehicle formation control framework for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (ICVs) that can apply to multiple traffic scenarios is proposed. In the one-dimensional scenario, different formation geometries are analyzed and the interlaced structure is mathematically modelized to improve driving safety while making full use of the lane capacity. The assignment problem for vehicles and target positions is solved using Hungarian Algorithm to improve the flexibility of the method in multiple scenarios. In the two-dimensional scenario, an improved virtual platoon method is proposed to transfer the complex two-dimensional passing problem to the one-dimensional formation control problem based on the idea of rotation projection. Besides, the vehicle regrouping method is proposed to connect the two scenarios. Simulation results prove that the proposed multi-vehicle formation control framework can apply to multiple typical scenarios and have better performance than existing methods

    Dome Argus: Ideal site for deep ice drilling

    Located on the centre of ice drainage range, the highest Dome Argus (Dome A) of East Antarctic Ice Sheet (EAIS), could be represented as an ideal site for deep ice cores drilling containing oldest paleo-climate records. To select a suitable drilling site for deep ice core, it needs gather all information pertaining to the local meteorology, ice sheet landforms, ice thickness, subglacial topography of bed rocks, ice velocity, internal structures of ice sheet, etc. Based on the International Partnerships in Ice Core Sciences (IPICS), we present recent achievement of glaciological research and its perspective at Dome A in this paper. We systematically discussed the merits and possible ventures of potential drilling sites around Dome A. Among all the candidates, we find that the Chinese Antarctic Kunlun Station is the best site for carrying out the first deep ice core drilling campaign. We emphasize and assess further the possibility to obtain a replicate core for studying dynamics and evolution of climate change

    Biportal endoscopic decompression, debridement, and interbody fusion, combined with percutaneous screw fixation for lumbar brucellosis spondylitis

    ObjectiveThis study aims to investigate the effectiveness and feasibility of biportal endoscopic decompression, debridement, and interbody fusion, combined with percutaneous screw fixation for lumbar brucellosis spondylitis (LBS).MethodsThe data of 13 patients with LBS were retrospectively analyzed, who underwent biportal endoscopic decompression, debridement, and interbody fusion, combined with percutaneous screw fixation from May 2020 to June 2022. The patients’ clinical data, the duration of operation, the estimated blood loss (including postoperative drainage), and complications were recorded. Clinical outcomes include serum agglutination test (SAT) measures Brucella antibody titer, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), the visual analog scale (VAS) scores of low back and leg, Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), American Spinal Injury Association neurological classification, and lordotic angle were analyzed. All patients were assessed using the modified Macnab criteria at the final follow-up. The intervertebral bone graft fusion was assessed using the Bridwell grading criteria.ResultsThe mean operation duration was 177.31 ± 19.54 min, and the estimated blood loss was 176.15 ± 43.79 ml (including postoperative drainage was 41.15 ± 10.44 ml). The mean follow-up period was 13.92 ± 1.5 months. SAT showed that the antibody titers of 13 patients were normal 3 months after the operation and at the final follow-up. ESR and CRP levels returned to normal by the end of the 3-month follow-up. VAS scores of low back and leg, JOA score, and ODI significantly improved after the operation throughout the follow-up period (P < 0.05). Based on the modified Macnab criteria, 92.3% showed excellent to good outcomes. One patient had only a percutaneous screw internal fixation on the decompression side due to severe osteoporosis. One case suffered a superficial incision infection postoperatively that healed with dressing change and effective antibiotic treatment. Bony fusion was obtained in all patients at the last follow-up, including 12 cases with grade I and 1 case with grade II, with a fusion rate of 92.31%.ConclusionBiportal endoscopic decompression, debridement, and interbody fusion, combined with percutaneous screw fixation is an effective, safe, and viable surgical procedure for the treatment of LBS
