catena-Poly[[[diaquairon(II)]-μ-pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylato-[tetraaquairon(II)]-μ-pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylato] tetrahydrate]
In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Fe2(C7H3NO4)2(H2O)6]·4H2O}n, there are two types of coordination for the FeII atoms. One FeII atom is in a distorted octahedral N2O4 environment, with two chelating rings from the pyridinedicarboxylate ligands and two O atoms from the water molecules, while the other is in a distorted octahedral O6 environment with two O atoms from the pyridinedicarboxylate ligands and four O atoms from the water molecules. Both FeII atoms lie on crystallographic centers of symmetry. The complex possesses an infinite chain structure running along the [101] direction. These chains are interconnected by the uncoordinated water molecules through O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds
Involvement and repair of epithelial barrier dysfunction in allergic diseases
The epithelial barrier serves as a critical defense mechanism separating the human body from the external environment, fulfilling both physical and immune functions. This barrier plays a pivotal role in shielding the body from environmental risk factors such as allergens, pathogens, and pollutants. However, since the 19th century, the escalating threats posed by environmental pollution, global warming, heightened usage of industrial chemical products, and alterations in biodiversity have contributed to a noteworthy surge in allergic disease incidences. Notably, allergic diseases frequently exhibit dysfunction in the epithelial barrier. The proposed epithelial barrier hypothesis introduces a novel avenue for the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases. Despite increased attention to the role of barrier dysfunction in allergic disease development, numerous questions persist regarding the mechanisms underlying the disruption of normal barrier function. Consequently, this review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the epithelial barrier’s role in allergic diseases, encompassing influencing factors, assessment techniques, and repair methodologies. By doing so, it seeks to present innovative strategies for the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases
An Updated Search of Steady TeV Ray Point Sources in Northern Hemisphere Using the Tibet Air Shower Array
Using the data taken from Tibet II High Density (HD) Array (1997
February-1999 September) and Tibet-III array (1999 November-2005 November), our
previous northern sky survey for TeV ray point sources has now been
updated by a factor of 2.8 improved statistics. From to
in declination (Dec) range, no new TeV ray point
sources with sufficiently high significance were identified while the
well-known Crab Nebula and Mrk421 remain to be the brightest TeV ray
sources within the field of view of the Tibet air shower array. Based on the
currently available data and at the 90% confidence level (C.L.), the flux upper
limits for different power law index assumption are re-derived, which are
approximately improved by 1.7 times as compared with our previous reported
limits.Comment: This paper has been accepted by hepn
Dual-comb spectroscopy over 100km open-air path
Satellite-based greenhouse gases (GHG) sensing technologies play a critical
role in the study of global carbon emissions and climate change. However, none
of the existing satellite-based GHG sensing technologies can achieve the
measurement of broad bandwidth, high temporal-spatial resolution, and high
sensitivity at the same time. Recently, dual-comb spectroscopy (DCS) has been
proposed as a superior candidate technology for GHG sensing because it can
measure broadband spectra with high temporal-spatial resolution and high
sensitivity. The main barrier to DCS's display on satellites is its short
measurement distance in open air achieved thus far. Prior research has not been
able to implement DCS over 20 km of open-air path. Here, by developing a
bistatic setup using time-frequency dissemination and high-power optical
frequency combs, we have implemented DCS over a 113 km turbulent horizontal
open-air path. Our experiment successfully measured GHG with 7 nm spectral
bandwidth and a 10 kHz frequency and achieved a CO2 sensing precision of <2 ppm
in 5 minutes and <0.6 ppm in 36 minutes. Our results represent a significant
step towards advancing the implementation of DCS as a satellite-based
technology and improving technologies for GHG monitoringComment: 24 pages, 6 figure
Screening Level of PAHs in Sediment Core from Lake Hongfeng, Southwest China
Using data from a 25-year retrospective of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediment core from Lake Hongfeng, Southwest China, their possible sources and potential toxicologic significance were investigated. The total PAH concentrations (16 priority PAHs as proposed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency) in sediments ranged from 2936.1 to 5282.3 ng/g and gradually increased from the analyzed deeper sediments to surface sediments. PAHs were dominated by low molecular-weight components, especially phenanthrene (PHEN) and fluorene (FLU). However, a significantly increased number of high molecular-weight (HMW) PAHs was found in upper segments. The temporal trends of individual PAH species suggest that there may have been a change in energy use from low- to high-temperature combustion, especially after approximately 2001. PAH input to Lake Hongfeng originated mainly from domestic coal combustion and biomass burning, whereas fuel combustion characteristics have also been found in recent years. Sediment-quality assessment implied that potential adverse biologic impact could be a probability for most low-ring PAHs (including naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthylene, FLU, PHEN, and anthracene). Nevertheless, more concern should be paid to HMW PAHs in the future due to their rapidly increasing trends in upper sediments. Because only one core was analyzed in this study, more work is needed to confirm the sources and toxicity of PAHs in Lake Hongfeng
Management of granulomatous lobular mastitis: an international multidisciplinary consensus (2021 edition)
Granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) is a rare and chronic benign inflammatory disease of the breast. Difficulties exist in the management of GLM for many front-line surgeons and medical specialists who care for patients with inflammatory disorders of the breast. This consensus is summarized to establish evidence-based recommendations for the management of GLM. Literature was reviewed using PubMed from January 1, 1971 to July 31, 2020. Sixty-six international experienced multidisciplinary experts from 11 countries or regions were invited to review the evidence. Levels of evidence were determined using the American College of Physicians grading system, and recommendations were discussed until consensus. Experts discussed and concluded 30 recommendations on historical definitions, etiology and predisposing factors, diagnosis criteria, treatment, clinical stages, relapse and recurrence of GLM. GLM was recommended as a widely accepted definition. In addition, this consensus introduced a new clinical stages and management algorithm for GLM to provide individual treatment strategies. In conclusion, diagnosis of GLM depends on a combination of history, clinical manifestations, imaging examinations, laboratory examinations and pathology. The approach to treatment of GLM should be applied according to the different clinical stage of GLM. This evidence-based consensus would be valuable to assist front-line surgeons and medical specialists in the optimal management of GLM.Improving the Ability of Diagnosis and Treatment of Difficult Disease

Implementation and performances of the IPbus protocol for the JUNO Large-PMT readout electronics
The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a large neutrino
detector currently under construction in China. Thanks to the tight
requirements on its optical and radio-purity properties, it will be able to
perform leading measurements detecting terrestrial and astrophysical neutrinos
in a wide energy range from tens of keV to hundreds of MeV. A key requirement
for the success of the experiment is an unprecedented 3% energy resolution,
guaranteed by its large active mass (20 kton) and the use of more than 20,000
20-inch photo-multiplier tubes (PMTs) acquired by high-speed, high-resolution
sampling electronics located very close to the PMTs. As the Front-End and
Read-Out electronics is expected to continuously run underwater for 30 years, a
reliable readout acquisition system capable of handling the timestamped data
stream coming from the Large-PMTs and permitting to simultaneously monitor and
operate remotely the inaccessible electronics had to be developed. In this
contribution, the firmware and hardware implementation of the IPbus based
readout protocol will be presented, together with the performances measured on
final modules during the mass production of the electronics
Mass testing of the JUNO experiment 20-inch PMTs readout electronics
The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a multi-purpose,
large size, liquid scintillator experiment under construction in China. JUNO
will perform leading measurements detecting neutrinos from different sources
(reactor, terrestrial and astrophysical neutrinos) covering a wide energy range
(from 200 keV to several GeV). This paper focuses on the design and development
of a test protocol for the 20-inch PMT underwater readout electronics,
performed in parallel to the mass production line. In a time period of about
ten months, a total number of 6950 electronic boards were tested with an
acceptance yield of 99.1%
