    Waterfront Analysis and Design Comparative Report of Beijing, Suzhou and Yinchuan systematically summarizes the research and planning cases. Conventional concepts and strategies concerning urban planning implemented in Beijing, Suzhou and Yinchuan have long been established, and the construction of many areas in these cities have been widely finished. Under such circumstances, based on analyses of the three cities and several typical cases of waterfront planning, this book breaks through the established conceptual constraints and delves into the commonalities and differences among the cases through systematic scientific approaches. On top of conducting the intensive research into urban waterfronts planning at levels of both basic theory and methodology, this book also presents specific practices of urban waterfront planning and design customized to the urban water system, as well as the layout and space of waterfront areas. By displaying how research findings can be applied into urban design, this book is of unique significance on value transmission. The book is broken down into four chapters, namely Comparison, Beijing, Suzhou and Yinchuan. Comparing and researching the water-city relations of the three cities. Chapter Comparison makes clear of the development characteristics of urban spatial structure based on changes of water systems in these cities with different geographical environments, and researches the patterns of urban spatial organization. Finally, the chapter summarizes the creating mode and focus of urban waterfronts under the effects of different natural environments, water networks and city landscapes. Chapter Beijing is compiled jointly by Harbin Institute of Technology and China Architecture Design and Research Group. Led by Professor Suning Xu, the study is structured as the combination of “research”, “judgment” and “design”. Studying the historical changes of water-city relation in Beijing and comparing the water-city relation of world typical capitals with that of prominent Chinese ancient capitals. This chapter sets the overall goal for Beijing’s waterfront development; The value system of the waterfront area is evaluated in 6 dimensions, including ecology, space, demand, history, economy and aesthetics, based on which the urban design strategy is crafted and verified with the design of typical nodes. Chapter Suzhou is put together by Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Iuav University of Venice, Tianjin University, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou and China Architecture Design and Research Group. At the macro level, the joint research team analyzed the spatial structure of Suzhou urban area, selected important urban waterfronts based on the comprehensive considerations of urban functions, different water network structures, ecological protection and urban landscapes, and proposed practical urban design strategy and guidance at various grades and of different types; At the micro level, dedicated to the objectives of “properly clustered water networks, water conservation, living along the water, open and sharing, and reflection of historical culture”, the team offered key points for different urban waterfront designs. Chapter Yinchuan is collectively compiled by Delft University of Technology, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Ningxia University and China Architecture Design and Research Group. Adopting the RTD (research through design) method, in other words, further defining research questions through designing and exploring various possibilities and solutions, the joint research team attempted to identify comprehensive solutions at multiple levels: Yinchuan city as a whole, the urban areas where the waterfronts are located, and the waterfronts themselves; Jointly led by landscape architects and urban designers, the research of waterfront design in Yinchuan highlights the ecology-based analysis method and design strategy

    Identification of a venetoclax-resistance prognostic signature base on 6-senescence genes and its clinical significance for acute myeloid leukemia

    BackgroundSatisfactory responses can be obtained for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) treated by Venetoclax (VEN)-based therapy. However, there are still quite a few AML patients (AMLs) resistant to VEN, and it is critical to understand whether VEN-resistance is regulated by senescence.MethodsHere, we established and validated a signature for predicting AML prognosis based on VEN resistance-related senescence genes (VRSGs). In this study, 51 senescence genes were identified with VEN-resistance in AML. Using LASSO algorithms and multiple AML cohorts, a VEN-resistance senescence prognostic model (VRSP-M) was developed and validated based on 6-senescence genes.ResultsAccording to the median score of the signature, AMLs were classified into two subtypes. A worse prognosis and more adverse features occurred in the high-risk subtype, including older patients, non-de novo AML, poor cytogenetics, adverse risk of European LeukemiaNet (ELN) 2017 recommendation, and TP53 mutation. Patients in the high-risk subtype were mainly involved in monocyte differentiation, senescence, NADPH oxidases, and PD1 signaling pathway. The model’s risk score was significantly associated with VEN-resistance, immune features, and immunotherapy response in AML. In vitro, the IC50 values of ABT-199 (VEN) rose progressively with increasing expression of G6PD and BAG3 in AML cell lines.ConclusionsThe 6-senescence genes prognostic model has significant meaning for the prediction of VEN-resistance, guiding personalized molecularly targeted therapies, and improving AML prognosis

    High-performance infrared photodetectors based on InAs/InAsSb/AlAsSb superlattice for 3.5 µm cutoff wavelength spectra

    High-performance infrared p-i-n photodetectors based on InAs/InAsSb/AlAsSb superlattices on GaSb substrate have been demonstrated at 300K. These photodetectors exhibit 50% and 100% cut-off wavelength of ∼3.2 µm and ∼3.5 µm, respectively. Under -130 mV bias voltage, the device exhibits a peak responsivity of 0.56 A/W, corresponding to a quantum efficiency (QE) of 28%. The dark current density at 0 mV and -130 mV bias voltage are 8.17 × 10−2 A/cm2 and 5.02 × 10−1 A/cm2, respectively. The device exhibits a saturated dark current shot noise limited specific detectivity (D*) of 3.43 × 109 cm·Hz1/2/W (at a peak responsivity of 2.5 µm) under -130 mV of applied bias

    RAGE Mediates Accelerated Diabetic Vein Graft Atherosclerosis Induced by Combined Mechanical Stress and AGEs via Synergistic ERK Activation

    Aims/Hypothesis: Diabetes with hypertension rapidly accelerates vascular disease, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. We evaluated the hypothesis that the receptor of advanced glycation end products (RAGE) might mediate combined signals initiated by diabetes-related AGEs and hypertension-induced mechanical stress as a common molecular sensor. Methods: In vivo surgical vein grafts created by grafting vena cava segments from C57BL/6J mice into the common carotid arteries of streptozotocin (STZ)-treated and untreated isogenic mice for 4 and 8 weeks were analyzed using morphometric and immunohistochemical techniques. In vitro quiescent mouse vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) with either knockdown or overexpression of RAGE were subjected to cyclic stretching with or without AGEs. Extracellular signalregulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylation and Ki-67 expression were investigated. Results: Significant increases in neointimal formation, AGE deposition, Ki-67 expression, and RAGE were observed in the vein grafts of STZ-induced diabetic mice. The highest levels of ERK phosphorylation and Ki-67 expression in VSMCs were induced by simultaneous stretch stress and AGE exposure. The synergistic activation of ERKs and Ki-67 in VSMCs was significantly inhibited by siRNA-RAGE treatment and enhanced by over-expression of RAGE.     The suburban area is a multifunctional area that has a few problems. This area should protect the ecological city area, should solve the recreation problems of the city, should supply citizens with perishable goods, and should also have an economy and science functions for the city development. In connection with the development process of suburbanization, this territory is very important for city development. Russia’s economy is going through major transitions. These transitions are rapidly changing the relationship between cities (urban areas), countryside (rural areas) and the development, growth, and popularity of suburbia. The process of suburbanization takes place in biggest cities of Russia, including Krasnoyarsk City. The modern Krasnoyarsk with a population of about 1mln people occupies the territory of 34115 ha. This article examines the analysis of functions of suburban area and connects these functions with zoning of the suburban territory. The author analyze the nature conditions of suburban area and it connection with functional zoning of territory.Пригородная зона как многофункциональная территория решает несколько проблем города. Эта зона способствует экологической защите города, отдыху горожан, обеспечивает их необходимыми продуктами питания, а также сочетает в себе функции экономического и научного роста и развития города. Пригородная зона крайне важна в исследовании вопросов развития территорий городов и стран, особенно с учетом набирающего популярность процесса субурбанизации. Российская экономика в настоящий момент находится в переходной фазе развития. В результате экономических и политических реформ изменились отношения между городом и деревней, городом и его пригородной территорией. Процесс субурбанизации получил свое развитие в крупнейших городах России, в том числе и в Красноярске. Современный Красноярск – это город с населением более 1 млн чел., расположенный на площади в 34115 га. В данной статье представлен анализ функций современной пригородной зоны и их зависимость от природного компонента. В соответствии с полученными данными авторы предлагают функциональное зонирование территории пригорода Красноярска

    Identification and time series monitoring of hidden dangers of geological hazards in the typical loess hilly regions

    The geomorphology of southern Ningxia is dominated by loess hills, with gullies and well-developed small landslides in the area, making surface deformation monitoring difficult. To explore the identification method of geological hazards in the loess hilly area, Jingyuan district in the city of Guyuan in Ningxia Huizu Zizhiqu is taken as the study area, and the SBAS-InSAR technology is applied to process a total of 11 periods of ascending L-band ALOS-2 data collected from July 2016 to May 2021 to obtain the deformation rate of the Jingyuan district. Combined with high-resolution optical images, a comprehensive analysis is carried out according to factors such as deformation rate, deformation scale, slope, and disaster-bearing body. A total of 27 suspected hidden dangers are identified. After field verification, 22 of them show obvious signs of deformation and have clear hazard-bearing bodies. The time-series deformation analysis of the typical hidden danger points shows that these areas have continuous and significant surface deformation during the monitoring period, and the maximum subsidence rate reaches 91.53 mm/a. The results show that the combined L-band SAR and high-definition optical image data and the application of the integrated remote sensing identification method are highly accurate and are of high applicability in the area. The next step is to collect L-band data on a combination of ascending and descending orbits and to conduct in-depth research on the basis of LiDAR data from drones in order to further improve the accuracy of geological hazard identification and to provide technical support for the precise prevention and control of geological hazards
