T-duality in the weakly curved background
We consider the closed string propagating in the weakly curved background
which consists of constant metric and Kalb-Ramond field with infinitesimally
small coordinate dependent part. We propose the procedure for constructing the
T-dual theory, performing T-duality transformations along coordinates on which
the Kalb-Ramond field depends. The obtained theory is defined in the
non-geometric double space, described by the Lagrange multiplier and
its -dual . We apply the proposed T-duality procedure to the
T-dual theory and obtain the initial one. We discuss the standard relations
between T-dual theories that the equations of motion and momenta modes of one
theory are the Bianchi identities and the winding modes of the other
Non-abelian T-duality, Ramond Fields and Coset Geometries
We extend previous work on non-abelian T-duality in the presence of Ramond
fluxes to cases in which the duality group acts with isotropy such as in
backgrounds containing coset spaces. In the process we generate new
supergravity solutions related to D-brane configurations and to standard
supergravity compactifications.Comment: 35 pages, Late
Fermionic T-duality in the pp-wave limit
AdS5 X S5 and its pp-wave limit are self-dual under transformations involving
eight fermionic T-dualities, a property which accounts for symmetries seen in
scattering amplitudes in N=4 super-Yang-Mills. Despite strong evidence for
similar symmetries in the amplitudes of three-dimensional N=6 ABJM theory, a
corresponding self-duality in the dual geometry AdS4 X CP3 currently eludes us.
Here, working with the type IIA pp-wave limit of AdS4 X CP3 preserving twenty
four supercharges, we show that the pp-wave is self-dual with respect to eight
commuting fermionic T-dualities and not the six expected. In addition, we show
the same symmetry can be found in a superposition pp-wave and a generic pp-wave
with twenty and sixteen unbroken supersymmetries respectively, strongly
suggesting that self-duality under fermionic T-duality may be a symmetry of all
pp-waves.Comment: 21 pages, typos fixe
BMN vacua, superstars and non-abelian T-duality
Acting with non-Abelian T-duality on the inside the subspace of
with units of flux, we generate a new half-BPS solution
with symmetry that belongs to the Lin-Lunin-Maldacena class of
geometries. The analysis of the asymptotics, quantised charges and probe branes
in this geometry suggests an interpretation as the gravity dual to the
Berenstein-Maldacena-Nastase Plane Wave Matrix Model, in a particular vacuum
associated to a partition of , in which the multiplicity of each
irreducible representation is equal to its dimension. This vacuum is
interpreted in M-theory in terms of giant gravitons backreacting in the
maximally supersymmetric pp-wave geometry. Consistently with this, we show that
the non-Abelian T-dual solution exactly agrees with the Penrose limit of the
superstar solution in . This suggests an interesting global
completion of the non-Abelian T-dual solution in terms of an M5-brane geometry.Comment: 28 pages, discussion in section 5.1 improved, results unchanged,

Mesons from (non) Abelian T-dual backgrounds
In this work we study mesonic excitations in a Quantum Field Theory dual to
the non Abelian T-dual of , using a D6 brane probe on the
Sfetsos-Thompson background. Before and after the duality, we observe
interesting differences between the spectra and interpret them. The spectrum of
masses and the interactions among mesonic excitations teach valuable lessons
about the character of non-Abelian T-duality and its implications for
Holography. The case of Abelian T-duality is also studied.Comment: 26 pages plus many long appendice
Field theory aspects of non-Abelian T-duality and N = 2 linear quivers
In this paper we propose a linear quiver with gauge groups of increasing rank as field theory dual to the AdS 5 background constructed by Sfetsos and Thompson through non-Abelian T-duality. The formalism to study 4d N = 2 SUSY CFTs developed by Gaiotto and Maldacena is essential for our proposal. We point out an interesting relation between (Hopf) Abelian and non-Abelian T-dual backgrounds that allows to see both backgrounds as different limits of a solution constructed by Maldacena and Núñez. This suggests different completions of the long quiver describing the CFT dual to the nonAbelian T-dual background that match different observables
Integrability and non-integrability in N=2 SCFTs and their holographic backgrounds N = 2 SCFTs and their holographic backgrounds
We show that the string worldsheet theory of Gaiotto-Maldacena holographic
duals to N=2 superconformal field theories generically fails to be classically
integrable. We demonstrate numerically that the dynamics of a winding string
configuration possesses a non-vanishing Lyapunov exponent. Furthermore an
analytic study of the Normal Variational Equation fails to yield a Liouvillian
solution. An exception to the generic non-integrability of such backgrounds is
provided by the non-Abelian T-dual of . Here by virtue of the
canonical transformation nature of the T-duality classical integrability is
known to be present.Comment: 20 pages plus appendices. Various figures. References adde
