How Dose Rotation Effect Convection Criterion and Solar Granule Size
In this paper, based on the spherically symmetric expansion hypothesis of
solar granule, considering the effects of rotation factor on the rotational
energy and pressure of granules and making comparisons to molecular thermal
motion and ideal gas law, a rotating equivalent temperature hypothesis is
proposed, and a new convection criterion associated with rotational speed is
obtained. Through the analysis of the solar convection zone, it can be found
that there is a critical size of granules, and the rotation makes the granules
with small diameter in natural convection state, while the granules with large
diameter in forced convection state. This conclusion can be verified by the
observation data of granulation.Comment: 3pages, Submitted to MNRA
Bearing fault diagnosis via kernel matrix construction based support vector machine
A novel approach on kernel matrix construction for support vector machine (SVM) is proposed to detect rolling element bearing fault efficiently. First, multi-scale coefficient matrix is achieved by processing vibration sample signal with continuous wavelet transform (CWT). Next, singular value decomposition (SVD) is applied to calculate eigenvector from wavelet coefficient matrix as sample signal feature vector. Two kernel matrices i.e. training kernel and predicting kernel, are then constructed in a novel way, which can reveal intrinsic similarity among samples and make it feasible to solve nonlinear classification problems in a high dimensional feature space. To validate its diagnosis performance, kernel matrix construction based SVM (KMCSVM) classifier is compared with three SVM classifiers i.e. classification tree kernel based SVM (CTKSVM), linear kernel based SVM (L-SVM) and radial basis function based SVM (RBFSVM), to identify different locations and severities of bearing fault. The experimental results indicate that KMCSVM has better classification capability than other methods
Electrospun Thymosin Beta-4 Loaded PLGA/PLA Nanofiber/ Microfiber Hybrid Yarns for Tendon Tissue Engineering Application
Microfiber yarns (MY) have been widely employed to construct tendon tissue grafts. However, suboptimal ultrastructure and inappropriate environments for cell interactions limit their clinical application. Herein, we designed a modified electrospinning device to coat poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) PLGA nanofibers onto polylactic acid (PLA) MY to generate PLGA/PLA hybrid yarns (HY), which had a well-aligned nanofibrous structure, resembling the ultrastructure of native tendon tissues and showed enhanced failure load compared to PLA MY. PLGA/PLA HY significantly improved the growth, proliferation, and tendon-specific gene expressions of human adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells (HADMSC) compared to PLA MY. Moreover, thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) loaded PLGA/PLA HY presented a sustained drug release manner for 28 days and showed an additive effect on promoting HADMSC migration, proliferation, and tenogenic differentiation. Collectively, the combination of Tβ4 with the nano-topography of PLGA/PLA HY might be an efficient strategy to promote tenogenesis of adult stem cells for tendon tissue engineering
Enhanced bias stress stability of a-InGaZnO thin film transistors by inserting an ultra-thin interfacial InGaZnO:N layer
Amorphous indium-gallium-zinc oxide (a-IGZO) thin film transistors (TFTs) having an ultra-thin nitrogenated a-IGZO (a-IGZO:N) layer sandwiched at the channel/gate dielectric interface are fabricated. It is found that the device shows enhanced bias stress stability with significantly reduced threshold voltage drift under positive gate bias stress. Based on x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurement, the concentration of oxygen vacancies within the a-IGZO:N layer is suppressed due to the formation of N-Ga bonds. Meanwhile, low frequency noise analysis indicates that the average trap density near the channel/dielectric interface continuously drops as the nitrogen content within the a-IGZO:N layer increases. The improved interface quality upon nitrogen doping agrees with the enhanced bias stress stability of the a-IGZO TFTs.This work was supported in part by the State Key
