A Review of Forest Resources and Forest Biodiversity Evaluation System in China

    Get PDF
China is a country rich in diverse forest ecosystems due to the large span of the country, complex topography, and multiple climate regimes. In this paper, the basic information of forest resources in China was briefly introduced and the current state in the measurements of forest biodiversity and the establishment of forest biodiversity index systems in related studies were reviewed. The results showed that a lot of studies on forest biodiversity have been conducted mostly at landscape or stand level in China and the commonly used biodiversity indicators were identified and compared. Several comprehensive forest biodiversity index systems were proposed. However, there are still some problems during the construction of forest biodiversity assessment system. Due to the late establishment of biodiversity monitoring system in China, the availability of data that could be included in a forest biodiversity index system is limited, which hurdles the precise assessment of forest biodiversity. It is suggested to develop long-term monitoring stations and keep data recording consistently. Concerns should also be given to the construction of the framework of the forest biodiversity index system and the determination of the indicators’ weight. The results will provide reference for the establishment of national or regional forest biodiversity evaluation indicator systems in China

The Dynamics and Frontiers of Video Game Social Research in Communication Studies-A Scientometrics Analysis Based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer

    Get PDF
In this media-rich era, digital entertainment in the form of video games has a major impact on our social interaction and productivity in a borderless social mode. As a result, in order to comprehend the research progress of video game, CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used for scientometrics and knowledge mapping in this study. It displays the state of development, fundamental structure, and frontier areas of video game social communication. The mapping is based on 448 publications collected through Web of Science core database searches. The findings indicate that (1) video game social research has gained increasing attention over the last 23 years, with a curvilinear growth in annual publications, but a core authorship group has yet to materialize, and the United States institutions dominate the number of publications on this topic. (2) Gaming behaviors, gender studies, media effects, and gaming experiences have emerged as the four main hotspots of research in this field under the keyword co-occurrence and clustering analyses. (3) Research in this area has traditionally concentrated on violent, addictive, and other problematic gaming behaviors. The findings of this study forecast future trends in the study of video game social communication and provide the groundwork for more in-depth research

Promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China during the Epidemic Using Modern Visual Technologies with Information Security

The transition from physical work to cyberspace has been happening in a very rampant phase in recent years, which has changed and transformed the notion of traditional physical museums into digital but more interactive museums. The worldwide shutdown due to the pandemic has led to the closure of museums and other cultural heritage artifacts. However, a major advantage that could be reaped from technological advancement is the protection and inheritance of age-old Intangible cultural heritage without disrupting its originality by deploying immersive technologies. This study proposes a holistic three-layered framework that considers the possible technologies, storage options, and user views without compromising information security. An overview of the widely deployed technologies is also presented in the work along with its potential usage. The work enumerates the popular technologies, software, and tools that can find their application in the establishment of digital museums. Finally, the work discusses the important challenges and limitations that should be confronted by the digitization of the elements of museums, which are the future research directions. These limitations are a blessing in disguise that can be convolved into the de facto design of the future digital museums to provide a more realistic and appealing experience to the visitors so that the ICH is preserved for generations

Case Report: Surgical management of idiopathic pulmonary aneurysms and review surgical approaches

    Get PDF
Idiopathic pulmonary aneurysm is a clinically rare condition characterized by an unknown etiology and episodic occurrence. Despite its rarity, idiopathic pulmonary artery aneurysm poses potential risks to patients. Currently, there is a lack of established clinical guidelines and consensus regarding its management, leading to ongoing controversies in treatment strategies. Particularly, the optimal approach for addressing the main pulmonary artery, its branches, and the pulmonary artery valve remains uncertain. A 57-year-old female patient presented with chest pain and tightness, leading to the diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary artery aneurysm after excluding other potential causes. Subsequently, she underwent surgical treatment. However, during the surgery, the pulmonary artery wall was found to be extremely weak, prompting us to employ a surgical approach involving the utilization of autologous vessel wrapping with artificial grafts. By summarizing almost all surgical treatment strategies reported in recent years, including the management of pulmonary artery vessels and the pulmonary valve, we have developed a treatment flow chart. This flowchart serves as a valuable guide for the management of future cases presenting similar challenges, offering clinicians valuable insights and evidence-based recommendations

Fabrication of nanowire network AAO and its application in SERS

    Get PDF
In this paper, nanowire network anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) was fabricated by just adding a simple film-eroding process after the production of porous AAO. After depositing 50 nm of Au onto the surface, nanowire network AAO can be used as ultrasensitive and high reproducibility surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate. The average Raman enhancement factor of the nanowire network AAO SERS substrate can reach 5.93 × 10(6), which is about 14% larger than that of commercial Klarite® substrates. Simultaneously, the relative standard deviations in the SERS intensities are limited to approximately 7%. All of the results indicate that our large-area low-cost high-performance nanowire structure AAO SERS substrates have a great advantage in chemical/biological sensing applications

Visual Relationship Detection with Relative Location Mining

Visual relationship detection, as a challenging task used to find and distinguish the interactions between object pairs in one image, has received much attention recently. In this work, we propose a novel visual relationship detection framework by deeply mining and utilizing relative location of object-pair in every stage of the procedure. In both the stages, relative location information of each object-pair is abstracted and encoded as auxiliary feature to improve the distinguishing capability of object-pairs proposing and predicate recognition, respectively; Moreover, one Gated Graph Neural Network(GGNN) is introduced to mine and measure the relevance of predicates using relative location. With the location-based GGNN, those non-exclusive predicates with similar spatial position can be clustered firstly and then be smoothed with close classification scores, thus the accuracy of top nn recall can be increased further. Experiments on two widely used datasets VRD and VG show that, with the deeply mining and exploiting of relative location information, our proposed model significantly outperforms the current state-of-the-art.Comment: Accepted to ACM MM 201
