Cornea Microstructural and Mechanical Response Measured using Nonlinear Optical and Optical Coherence Microscopy with Sub-10-femtosecond Pulses
A detailed understanding of the corneal biomechanical response is an important
prerequisite to understanding corneal diseases such as keratoconus and for placing the
empirical equations used in refractive surgery on a physical basis. We have assembled a
combined nonlinear optical microscopy (NLOM) and optical coherence microscopy
(OCM) imaging system to simultaneously capture coregistered volumetric images of
corneal morphology and biochemistry. Fudicial markers visible in the OCM volume
enabled the calculation of strains for multiple depth layers in rabbit cornea. The results
revealed a depth dependent strain distribution, with smaller strains in the anterior stroma
and larger strains in the posterior stroma. The stress-strain curves can be grouped readily
by depth into three groups: anterior (~20%), transitional mid (~40%), and posterior
(~40%). Cross-sectional images of collagen lamellae, visible in NLOM, showed
inhomogeneous collagen structure and its response to intraocular pressure along the
anterior-posterior direction. The inhomogeneities correlate well with the noted
heterogeneous corneal mechanical properties. The combined NLOM-OCM system can measure corneal microstructure and mechanical response uniquely, thus providing a
microstructural understanding of corneal response to changes of collagen structure

Domain Knowledge Navigator : Topic Map for Practical Usages
This paper starts from a literature survey on Topic Map in the latest seven years in terms of the quantity of articles published in different databases, the trend of quantitative change, the distribution of affiliations and countries. The purpose of the survey is to show the research and development trend of Topic Map. Then a Topic Map in the domain of Customers' Service of Mobile Communication Corporations (MCCs) of China is constructed for knowledge navigation and information retrieval. Its building process contains topic selection, occurrence appending, and association analysis, while the implementing process involves domain knowledge navigation and information retrieval. Experiments have been made to compare the precision and recall of two kinds of information retrieval systems, i.e., keyword-based IR system and topic map-based IR system. From the application we can see that Topic Map is efficient in knowledge navigation. In the end, the paper addresses the future directions related to Topic Maps. The original publication is available at JAIST Press http://www.jaist.ac.jp/library/jaist-press/index.htmlProceedings of KSS'2007 : The Eighth International Symposium on Knowledge and Systems Sciences : November 5-7, 2007, [Ishikawa High-Tech Conference Center, Nomi, Ishikawa, JAPAN]Organized by: Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technolog

Optimization of energy storage assisted peak regulation parameters based on PSS/E
The development and utilization of new energy is one of the biggest issues facing mankind. With the rapid development of new energy, its proportion in the power system is getting higher and higher, which will inevitably lead to the increase of the peak–valley difference of the power grid, resulting in a series of stability problems. The connection of energy storage devices to the power grid can not only effectively utilize the power equipment, reduce the power supply cost, but also promote the application of new energy, improve the stability of the system operation, reduce the peak–valley difference of the power grid, and play an important role in the power system. In this paper, the simulation is carried out in PSS/E, and the excitation model and energy storage model are established based on the user-defined function of PSS/E. The particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of the excitation system and the energy storage control system, and the performance difference of peak regulation before and after adding the energy storage model and parameter optimization is simulated and compared. Through simulation, the correctness of the user-defined model of excitation and energy storage and the feasibility and superiority of energy storage participating in peak regulation are verified
Keyword-Enhanced Multi-Expert Framework for Hate Speech Detection
The proliferation of hate speech on the Internet is harmful to the psychological health of individuals and society. Thus, establishing and supporting the development of hate speech detection and deploying evasion techniques is a vital task. However, existing hate speech detection methods tend to ignore the sentiment features of target sentences and have difficulty identifying some implicit types of hate speech. The performance of hate speech detection can be significantly improved by gathering more sentiment features from various sources. In the use of external sentiment information, the key information of the sentences cannot be ignored. Thus, this paper proposes a keyword-enhanced multiexperts framework. To begin, the multi-expert module of multi-task learning is utilized to share parameters and thereby introduce sentiment information. In addition, the critical features of the sentences are highlighted by contrastive learning. This model focuses on both the key information of the sentence and the external sentiment information. The final experimental results on three public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model
Fluorescence Enhanced Optical Resonator Constituted of Quantum Dots and Thin Film Resonant Cavity for High-Efficiency Reflective Color Filter
Conventional color filters selectively absorb a part of the backlight while reflecting or transmitting other light, resulting in the problem of low efficiency and energy wasting. For this problem, a new concept of fluorescence enhanced optical resonator was proposed and verified in this paper. The new structure consists of structural color filter and light-conversion material. Specially, a thin film resonant cavity was designed, and InP/ZnSe/ZnS quantum dots were inserted inside the resonator. When illuminated by sunlight, the novel fluorescence enhanced optical resonator could not only reflect the specific light, but also convert absorbed energy into desired light, leading to the utilization efficiency improvement of solar energy. An all-dielectric red fluorescence enhanced optical resonator was fabricated, with peak equivalent reflectance up to 105%. Compared with a thin film resonator, the enhancement coefficient of the as-proposed structure is about 124%. The new optical structure can utilize solar source efficiently, showing application potential as the next generation of reflective color filters for display
