Universality classes in anisotropic non-equilibrium growth models
We study the effect of generic spatial anisotropies on the scaling behavior
in the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation. In contrast to its "conserved" variants,
anisotropic perturbations are found to be relevant in d > 2 dimensions, leading
to rich phenomena that include novel universality classes and the possibility
of first-order phase transitions and multicritical behavior. These results
question the presumed scaling universality in the strong-coupling rough phase,
and shed further light on the connection with generalized driven diffusive
systems.Comment: 4 pages, revtex, 2 figures (eps files enclosed
Supersymmetric features of the Maxwell fish-eye lens
We provide a supersymmetric analysis of the Maxwell fisheye (MF) wave problem
at zero energy. Working in the so-called sector, we obtain the
corresponding superpartner (fermionic) MF effective potential within Witten's
one-dimensional (radial) supersymmetric procedure.Comment: 5 pages in Latex, one figure not included has been published as Fig.

How to test SME with space missions ?
In this communication, we focus on possibilities to constrain SME
coefficients using Cassini and Messenger data. We present simulations of
radioscience observables within the framework of the SME, identify the linear
combinations of SME coefficients the observations depend on and determine the
sensitivity of these measurements to the SME coefficients. We show that these
datasets are very powerful for constraining SME coefficients.Comment: Presented at the Sixth Meeting on CPT and Lorentz Symmetry,

Optimal livestock diet formulation with farm environmental compliance consequences
The current method to derive livestock diets is to optimize cost performance subject to animal performance and resulting nutritional requirements via a linear programming model. In contrast, we examine the livestock diet formulation problem as a multi-criteria decision model with the criteria being cost performance, feed efficiency, and environmental compliance costs. We find that there are many situations where farm financial situations are improved by feeding products with higher costs per unit of protein but lower phosphorus levels.Environmental Economics and Policy,
Non-Locality of Experimental Qutrit Pairs
The insight due to John Bell that the joint behavior of individually measured
entangled quantum systems cannot be explained by shared information remains a
mystery to this day. We describe an experiment, and its analysis, displaying
non-locality of entangled qutrit pairs. The non-locality of such systems, as
compared to qubit pairs, is of particular interest since it potentially opens
the door for tests of bipartite non-local behavior independent of probabilistic
Bell inequalities, but of deterministic nature
Muon-spin-rotation study of the magnetic structure in the tetragonal antiferromagnetic state of weakly underdoped BaKFeAs
With muon spin rotation (SR) we studied the transition between the
orthorhombic antiferromagnetic (o-AF) and the tetragonal antiferromagnetic
(t-AF) states of a weakly underdoped BaKFeAs
single crystal. We observed some characteristic changes of the magnitude and
the orientation of the magnetic field at the muon site which, due to the fairly
high point symmetry of the latter, allow us to identify the magnetic structure
of the t-AF state. It is the so-called, inhomogeneous double-
magnetic structure with -axis oriented moments which has a vanishing
magnetic moment on half of the Fe sites.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures. Supplementary Material: 8 figure
