    A Proposed MIS Curriculum Modeled on Anthony\u27s Pyramid

    This paper describes a management information systems (MIS) curriculum modelled on Anthony\u27s Pyramid. In contrast to past and present models that tend to organize course content around technologies and methodologies, the proposed model structures course content by type of problem: operations, management, and strategic. After completing two courses covering organizational and technological foundations, the authors propose a two-course sequence at each pyramid level. The first course in sequence emphasizes concepts while the second course emphasizes application of concepts through integrated projects. After presentation of proposed course structures and sequences, curriculum issues are considered

    Despite the demonstrated potential of rhizoma peanut (Arachis glabrata Benth.; RP) for grazing in the southeastern USA (Ortega-S. et al. 1992), high establishment cost and removal of land from production during establishment have limited its use to primarily hay production systems. The premise of this experiment is that strip-planting RP in existing bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum Flügge) pastures offers the opportunity to use grass forage during the legume establishment phase so that land need not be totally removed from grazing, while allowing successful establishment of the legume

    Phase behavior of hydrogen–light-hydrocarbon systems

    The decreasing solubility of hydrogen in hydrocarbons with decreasing temperature continues down to the freezing point of the hydrocarbons, around −300°F. This behavior is shown to be an enlargement of phenomena exhibited by normal hydrocarbon mixtures. Methods of predicting equilibrium-phase compositions are presented for hydrogen in ligh-hydrocarbon systems.     Unusual Field-Dependence of the Intragrain Superconductive Transition in RuSr2EuCu2O8

    A narrow intragrain phase-lock transition was observed in RuSr2EuCu2O8 under a magnetic field H up to a few Tesla. The corresponding transition temperature, T2, decreases rapidly (about 100 K/T at low fields) with H indicating that the grains of RuSr2EuCu2O8 behave like a Josephson-junction-array instead of a homogeneous bulk superconductor. Our data suggest that the bulk superconducting transition may occur on a length scale well below the grain size of 2 to 6 micrometer
