Modernizacja linii technologicznej do wytwarzania kablowych zapór przeciwwilgociowych

The article presents the technology of the production of moisture resistant electrical and telecommunications cable laminates and the means of the modernisation of the technological line for their manufacture. Two innovative devices for the spread of superabsorbents and binding agents over the non-woven base developed and implemented within the framework of the modernisation. The technical solution applied in the devices enabled improvement in the quality of manufactured goods and improvement in the efficiency and profitability of the production process. The results of the verification tests of the developed devices are shown.W artykule omówiono technologię wytwarzania zapór przeciwwilgociowych do kabli energetycznych i telekomunikacyjnych oraz sposób modernizacji linii technologicznej do ich wytwarzania. Opisano dwa innowacyjne urządzenia do nanoszenia superabsorbenta i środka wiążącego na podłoże włókninowe, opracowane i wdrożone w ramach modernizacji. Rozwiązania techniczne zastosowane w urządzeniach pozwoliły na poprawę jakości wytwarzanych wyrobów oraz wydajności i opłacalności produkcji. Przestawiono wyniki badań weryfikacyjnych opracowanych urządzeń. Automatic station for oil spill detection

Artykuł przedstawia zagadnienia badawcze, które należało podjąć, aby zrealizować prototyp autonomicznej stacji, będącej elementem systemu wykrywania skażeń wody produktami ropopochodnymi. Stacja ma postać pływającej platformy i przeznaczona jest do stosowania na akwenach lądowych (rzeki, jeziora). Podstawowym wymogiem konstrukcyjnym jest autonomiczność oraz bezobsługowość urządzenia. Omówiono zastosowane rozwiązania konstrukcyjne w aspekcie konstrukcji mechanicznej, systemu zasilania oraz metody wykrywania zanieczyszczeń ropopochodnych.This paper describes a research problem which should be undertaken to create a prototype structure and practical implementation of an autonomous floating station destined for an automatic oil spill detection system. The device has the form of a floating platform, applicable for use on inland waters (lakes, rivers). The main requirement for such a device is that it should be autonomous and not require maintenance. The paper describes in detail the solutions applied, in particular with respect to the mechanical construction, photovoltaic power supply system and method of oil spill detection

Institutional imperfections and buyer-induced holdout in land acquisition

We look beyond the well-studied issues of fair compensation, regulatory tak-ings, and seller-induced holdout that arise in the government purchase of land for economic development. We argue that political rivalry distorts land acquisition negotiations between private sellers and a private buyer driven by profits. We determine these distortions endogenously and characterise conditions when the buyer’s optimal design to acquire land generates holdout. We analyse how bureaucratic corruption that increases transaction costs affects the degree and di-rection of political distortions and the incidence of holdout. We find that the size of corruption has nuanced nonmonotonic influences on holdout, seller welfare, and buyer’s profits

Measurement of hadronic production of the chi1++_{1}^{++}(3507) and the chi2++_{2}^{++}(3553) through their radiative decay to J/psi

The chi /sub 1//sup ++/(3507) and the chi /sub 2//sup ++/(3553) states have been observed in the Goliath spectrometer at the CERN SPS in 185 GeV/c\pi^{-}-Be collisions. Their radiative decays contribute 27.7% (for the chi /sub 1//sup ++/) and 12.8% (for the chi /sub 2//sup ++/) to J/ psi production. At this energy, their cross sections are 65+or-19 nb and 96+or-29 nb, respectively
