DETERMINATION OF OPTIMAL CHELATING RESIN MASS AND pH ON URANIUM COLLECTION IN PROCESS EFFLUENT. Activity in the production of nuclear fuel facilities bothpower and research reactors will produce process effluent which still contains relatively highconcentrations of uranium, exceeding 50 ppm. Various methodes have been attempted in order torecollect uranium in the process effluent. One methode that continues to be developed is ionexchange method using chelating resin to improve the efficiency of collected uranium. Modified resinis made by adding a chelating compound (TOPO) to the resin Dowex 21K. The research wasconducted to determine the capacity of the chelating resin and to optimize chelating resin mass andpH of feed solution in collecting uranium in collection process. The method used in the ion exchangeprocess is a batch, carrying out by adding a chelating resin into a 50 mL of effluent process with initialuranium concentration of 491,59 ppm and contact time of 4 hours. The experiment results showedthat the capacity of the chelating resin was 10.03 mg/g, optimum conditions obtained in addition ofchelating resin 8.0041 grams and pH 3.4. In that condition, collection efficiency and equilibriumconstant were 93,36% dan 3,75 ×10-5 respectively
