The optimization of the production of sinter as the feedstock of the blast furnace process

    Get PDF
The performance of the sintering process can be increased by means of various procedures. One of the options is increasing the permeability of the sintering charge and improving the gas-dynamic conditions during the combustion. This can be achieved by dosing coarse sinter on the sintering strands. This article analyzes a research conducted in order to experimentally verify the impact of the use of coarse sinter on the performance of the sintering process.Web of Science561-213413

Measuring the metallurgical supply chain resilience using fuzzy analytic network process

    Get PDF
The article presents a methodology for measuring the metallurgical supply chain resilience, which enables the ascertainment of key resilience capabilities and measurable criteria, and determining a level of the resilience. The methodology is based on Analytic Network Process (ANP), which is used to solve the complex decision-making problems, whose structures can be mapped as non-linear networks. Since ambiguous pairwise comparisons expressed by fuzzy sets are considered, the Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (FANP) is applied. The methodology is verified on the generalised model of a metallurgical supply chain. The SuperDecisions software was used for the application. The experiments performed demonstrate the high level of suitability of the FANP approach for measuring metallurgical supply chain resilience.Web of Science55478678

A computer simulation-based analysis of supply chains resilience in industrial environment

    Get PDF
The article presents a computer simulation-based model for analysis of supply chain resilience, which allows determining and verifying the generally valid principles, capabilities and ways for building long-term resilience of global supply chains against serious disruptions. The model is created on the basis of a supply chain from automotive industry and contains the main logistics flows used by present automotive producers. Any real automotive supply chain can be modelled as a combination of these logistics flows. The model was created in DOSIMIS-3® and verified using experimental data. The performed simulation demonstrates a significant decrease of the supply chain performance in case of serious disruption occurrence.Web of Science54470670

Comparison of Human Resource Management Practices in Czech and Chinese Metallurgical Companies

    Get PDF
The objective of this chapter is to analyze and compare various aspects of human resource management (HRM) practices in Chinese and Czech metallurgical companies. A questionnaire consisting of 58 questions devoted to specific aspects of HRM such as recruitment, performance evaluation and remuneration, and training and development was designed to acquire necessary data. Data acquired from 42 Chinese and 36 Czech companies were analyzed in order to yield the most beneficial outcomes. This chapter focuses on recruitment and selection of employees, evaluation, remuneration, and motivation of employees and career management. Results show significant differences in various aspects of HRM between both countries. Differences and some similarities are discussed and managerial implications are presented in the chapter

Management tools and systems - usage in logistics companies in the Czech Republic

    Get PDF
The paper presents the analysis and comparison of management tools and systems usage in companies in Czech Republic as the part of the research that has been done in 2013 and then in 2021 via structured questionnaires The aim of the paper is to define which management tools and systems are being used by Czech logistics centers, distribution and transport companies and warehouses, what are differences based on the company size (micro, small and medium, large size companies) and what are similarities and new trends across the research sample. The output of the research presents the total and relative frequency of management tools and systems usage comparing 2013 and 2021 outputs and describe current trend of usage, especially with continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, Lean, 6Sigma) that popularity and positive impact on companies' metrics and results is unarguable. TOP 10 management tools and systems are almost same in 2013 and 2021. Usage of management tools and systems in 2021 is higher than 2013 and the increase is significant. We can see the progress of KPI which total frequency (TF) was 25 and relative frequency (RF) was 5.80% in 2013 and 2021 results presents TF: 292 and RF 76.40%.Web of Science91988

Methodology for evaluation of Industrial Supply Chain Resilience

    No full text
K vytvoření flexibilní a objektivní metodiky jsou využity především metody vícekriteriální hodnocení variant AHP (analytický hierarchický proces) a ANP (analytický síťový proces). Verifikace navržené metodiky (poslední cíl disertační práce) je realizována na případové studii z prostředí ilustrativního hutního dodavatelského řetězce. K verifikaci byl využit software SuperDecisions, který je předním nástrojem při aplikaci metod AHP a ANP.This dissertation thesis deals with the management of industrial supply chains. It examines the current trends in this field, focusing on the concept of management of resilient supply chains, whose origin is a response to the unstable conditions of the global market environment. The application of this concept to real management of industrial supply chains is, however, very problematic. One of the limiting factors is the absence of systematic procedures and tools for measuring and assessing the resilience of supply chains. There are only rigid (closed) and highly subjective scoring tools. This drawback has motivated the author to define the following objectives of this dissertation thesis: - to characterize and analyse the possible approaches to the management of supply chains, focusing on the concept of resilience, - to propose a methodology for measuring and evaluating the resilience of industrial supply chains, - to verify the methodology through a case study from the environment of metallurgical supply chain. This work includes a definition of the problems of supply chain management in order to meet the first of the presented objectives. It mainly examines the contemporary management concepts, including the management of lean, agile, green and resilient supply chains. The main goal of this work is to design a methodology for measuring and evaluating the resilience of industrial supply chains, which eliminates the shortcomings of the existing tools. The creation of a flexible and objective methodology takes advantage of the methods of multi-criteria evaluation of options called AHP (analytic hierarchy process) and ANP (analytic network process). The verification of the proposed methodology (the last objective of this dissertation thesis) is performed on a case study from the environment of an illustrative metallurgical supply chain. The verification was carried out by means of SuperDecisions software, which is a leading tool in the application of AHP and ANP methods.Prezenční634 - Katedra ekonomiky a managementu v metalurgiivyhově
