Learning Intrinsic Dimension via Information Bottleneck for Explainable Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis
Gradient-based explanation methods are increasingly used to interpret neural
models in natural language processing (NLP) due to their high fidelity. Such
methods determine word-level importance using dimension-level gradient values
through a norm function, often presuming equal significance for all gradient
dimensions. However, in the context of Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA),
our preliminary research suggests that only specific dimensions are pertinent.
To address this, we propose the Information Bottleneck-based Gradient
(\texttt{IBG}) explanation framework for ABSA. This framework leverages an
information bottleneck to refine word embeddings into a concise intrinsic
dimension, maintaining essential features and omitting unrelated information.
Comprehensive tests show that our \texttt{IBG} approach considerably improves
both the models' performance and interpretability by identifying
sentiment-aware features.Comment: Accepted by COLING 202
Triply charmed baryons mass decomposition from lattice QCD
We present the first lattice QCD calculation about the mass decomposition of
triply charmed baryons with as and .
The quark mass term contributes about 66\% to the mass
of state, which is slightly lower than that of the meson system
with the same valence charm quark. Furthermore, based on our results, the total
contribution of sea quarks, the gluons and the QCD anomaly accounts for about a
quarter of the mass of these two triply charmed baryons. The mass difference of
and states is mainly from the quark energy
of the QCD energy-momentum tensor. For comparison, the
mass splitting is also calculated under the framework of the constituent quark
model.Comment: 7 page, 14 figure
Antenna Positioning and Beamforming Design for Fluid-Antenna Enabled Multi-user Downlink Communications
This paper investigates a multiple input single output (MISO) downlink
communication system in which users are equipped with fluid antennas (FAs).
First, we adopt a field-response based channel model to characterize the
downlink channel with respect to FAs' positions. Then, we aim to minimize the
total transmit power by jointly optimizing the FAs' positions and beamforming
matrix. To solve the resulting non-convex problem, we employ an alternating
optimization (AO) algorithm based on penalty method and successive convex
approximation (SCA) to obtain a sub-optimal solution. Numerical results
demonstrate that the FA-assisted communication system performs better than
conventional fixed position antennas system
(Z)-1-[4-Fluoro-2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)phenyl]-3-phenyl-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)prop-2-en-1-one
In the title molecule, C21H19FN4O, the triazole ring forms dihedral angles of 67.0 (1) and 59.6 (1)° with the phenyl and fluoro-substituted benzene rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the phenyl ring and the fluoro-substituted benzene ring is 79.1 (1)°. The pyrrolidine ring is in a half-chair conformation. In the crystal, weak C—H⋯O and C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds connect molecules into layers parallel to (001)
Intravenous thrombolysis versus dual antiplatelet therapy for patients with acute minor ischaemic stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Background and purposeThe efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in patients with acute minor ischaemic stroke (AMIS) remains unclear. We performed a meta-analysis to compare the efficacy and safety of IVT and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in patients with AMIS.MethodsThe Embase, Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Web of Science databases were searched up to 10 October, 2023. Prospective and retrospective studies comparing the clinical outcomes of IVT and DAPT were included. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for early neurological deterioration (END), excellent and favourable functional outcomes, recurrent ischaemic stroke at 3 months, mortality at 3 months, and symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage (ICH) were pooled using a random-effects model.ResultsOf the five included studies, 6,340 patients were included. In patients with AMIS, IVT was not significantly associated with excellent and favourable functional outcomes, recurrent ischaemic stroke, or all-cause mortality at 3 months compared to early DAPT. However, a higher risk of symptomatic ICH (OR, 9.31; 95% CI, 3.39–25.57) and END (OR, 2.75; 95% CI, 1.76–4.30) were observed with IVT.ConclusionThis meta-analysis indicated that IVT was not superior to DAPT in patients with AMIS, especially in those with nondisabling AIS. However, these findings should be interpreted with caution and have some limitations. Further, well-designed randomised controlled trials are warranted
