Time–space integrable decompositions of nonlinear evolution equations

    Get PDF
AbstractSeparation of the time and space variables of evolution equations is analyzed, without using any structure associated with evolution equations. The resulting theory provides techniques for constructing time–space integrable decompositions of evolution equations, which transform an evolution equation into two compatible Liouville integrable ordinary differential equations in the time and space variables. The techniques are applied to the KdV, MKdV and diffusion equations, thereby yielding several new time–space integrable decompositions of these equations

    Beamformer Based on Quaternion Processes

In this chapter, the problem of quaternion beamformer based on linear and widely linear hypercomplex processing is investigated in scenarios, where there exist one signal and one interference that are uncorrelated. First, we introduce brief information about the quaternion algebra and a quaternion model of linear symmetric array with two-component electromagnetic (EM) vector-sensors is presented. Based on array’s quaternion model, a quaternion MVDR (QMVDR) beamformer is derived and its performance is analysed. Second, we propose the general expression of a quaternion semi-widely linear (QSWL) beamformer and derive its useful implementation and the array’s gain expression. Finally, we give the main results of Monte Carlo simulation

Two Kinds of Analysis in the Issue of Dealing with EDPs

The settlement of EDPs [1] is one of the most knotty problems created by climate changes. In this paper, our team will give a comprehensive solution to tackle it. We construct two migration models to maximize the outcome of protecting the rights of EDPs and preserving their unique culture. Firstly, we talked about the reasons why we should protect the rights and culture of EDPs. We conclude that it is not only the spirit of UN, the morale responsibilities of every nation but also a good deed for human being which possibly can stop nationalism in each country from rising. I this process, we decide to use “carbon dioxide emission per capita” as standard to distribute responsibilities to different nations because it is more fair and efficient. Secondly, we start to build Migration Models. By using AHP, We quantify the important characteristics which will eventually make a big difference on the outcome of settlement. Then we get final results which indicate the most suitable countries for EDPs. Analyzing the results of Migration Models, we give policy recommendation at global and national level. For the first one, we suggest that UN should decide where EDPs’ be; when emergency happens or there are only few migrants, send them to the nearest countries to make sure of their safety and preservation of their cultures; and when it takes a long time to migrate and there are so many migrants, use Migration Model Two to decide because it needs to take the contribution to the world greenhouse effect, countries’ finance and preference of EDPs into consideration. Through the mathematic practice, we also find some factors, such as languages, population density and religious beliefs, can seriously affect the ultimate choice of the migration place so we recommend each nation positively take action to ensure EDPs can easily fit in. After that we bring time factors into our model. We use linear regression model to see the time when those island nations will be submerged. It indicates that UN should step in this issue as soon as possible otherwise it can be uncontrollable owing to the sinking islands and rising nationalism. At last, we list and compare three approaches to deciding where the home of EDPs should be. We conclude that only when UN in charge of this, it can make the best interest of both EDPs and different nations

Ada-DQA: Adaptive Diverse Quality-aware Feature Acquisition for Video Quality Assessment

Video quality assessment (VQA) has attracted growing attention in recent years. While the great expense of annotating large-scale VQA datasets has become the main obstacle for current deep-learning methods. To surmount the constraint of insufficient training data, in this paper, we first consider the complete range of video distribution diversity (\ie content, distortion, motion) and employ diverse pretrained models (\eg architecture, pretext task, pre-training dataset) to benefit quality representation. An Adaptive Diverse Quality-aware feature Acquisition (Ada-DQA) framework is proposed to capture desired quality-related features generated by these frozen pretrained models. By leveraging the Quality-aware Acquisition Module (QAM), the framework is able to extract more essential and relevant features to represent quality. Finally, the learned quality representation is utilized as supplementary supervisory information, along with the supervision of the labeled quality score, to guide the training of a relatively lightweight VQA model in a knowledge distillation manner, which largely reduces the computational cost during inference. Experimental results on three mainstream no-reference VQA benchmarks clearly show the superior performance of Ada-DQA in comparison with current state-of-the-art approaches without using extra training data of VQA.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, to appear in ACM MM 202

Purpose: To investigate the therapeutic effects of Jiaotai pill (JTP) on rats with insomnia induced by pchlorophenylalanine (PCPA).Methods: Rats with PCPA-induced insomnia were divided into 5 groups (n = 10), made up of control group, positive treatment group (estazolam 0.1 mg/kg), and 3 JTP treatment groups (0.6, 1.2 and 2.4 g/kg). Another group of 10 rats were treated as normal group. Rats in normal and control groups were treated with normal saline (10 mL/kg). After 14 days of drug treatment, the rats were injected intraperitoneally with sodium pentobarbital (45 mg/kg) and thereafter, latent period and sleeping time were recorded, while contents of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamic acid (Glu) in hypothalamus were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Furthermore, the expressions of glutamate decarboxylase 65 (GAD-65), glutamate decarboxylase 67 (GAD-67), GABAaminotransferase (GABA)-T, anti-GABA transporter 1 (GAT)-1, anti-GABA transporter (GAT)-3, and GABA receptors (GABA-A and GABA-B) in the hypothalamus were analyzed by western blotting assay. Results: The results showed that JTP (0.6, 1.2 and 2.4 g/kg) significantly shortened latent period and prolonged sleeping time (p < 0.01). JTP also increased GABA level (p < 0.01), but decreased Glu contents of the rat hypothalamus (p < 0.01). Western blotting data indicate that JTP significantly upregulated the levels of GAD-65 (p < 0.01), GAD-67 (p < 0.05), GAT-1 (p < 0.01), GAT-3 (p < 0.01), GABA-A (p < 0.01) and GABA-B (p < 0.01), while the level of GABA-T was down-regulated.Conclusion: The results demonstrate that JTP possesses significant sedative effects on insomnia in rats, most probably through a mechanism involving GABA signal pathway. Keywords: Jiaotai pill, Insomnia, GABA, Glutamate, Estazolam, GABA signal pathwa
