    Correction for mapping errors in non-null test of aspheric surface

    The non-null testing methods have the potential to allow measurement of aspheric surfaces with large departures from a reference sphere. In a non-null configuration, the ray will return along a different path and interfere with a different reference ray. This difference in ‘’mapping” between the test and reference rays creates an additional optical path difference (OPD) contribution, which causes test part errors to be mapped to the wrong location. To correct the mapping errors in non-null test of aspheric surface, correction method are proposed by ray trace and wave-front analysis. Experiments are carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach. The methods can work well, despite large deviation between the theoretic value of the aspheric and the reference wave-front

    Bed topography of Jakobshavn Isbrae, Greenland, and Byrd Glacier, Antarctica

Copyright 2015 International Glaciological SocietyThis paper presents the bed topography of Jakobshavn Isbrae, Greenland, and Byrd Glacier, Antarctica, derived from sounding these glaciers with high-sensitivity radars. To understand the processes causing the speed-up and retreat of outlet glaciers, and to enable the development of next-generation ice-sheet models, we need information on bed topography and basal conditions. To this end, we performed measurements with the progressively improved Multichannel Coherent Radar Depth Sounder/Imager (MCoRDS/I). We processed the data from each antenna-array element using synthetic aperture radar algorithms to improve radar sensitivity and reduce along-track surface clutter. We then applied array and image-processing algorithms to extract the weak bed echoes buried in off-vertical scatter (cross-track surface clutter). At Jakobshavn Isbrae, we observed 2.7 km thick ice ∼30 km upstream of the calving front and ∼850 m thick ice at the calving front. We also observed echoes from multiple interfaces near the bed. We applied the MUSIC algorithm to the data to derive the direction of arrival of the signals. This analysis revealed that clutter is dominated by the ice surface at Jakobshavn Isbrae. At Byrd Glacier, we found ∼3.62 km thick ice, as well as a subglacial trench ∼3.05 km below sea level. We used ice thickness information derived from radar data in conjunction with surface elevation data to generate bed maps for these two critical glaciers. The performance of current radars must be improved further by ∼15 dB to fully sound the deepest part of Byrd Glacier. Unmanned aerial systems equipped with radars that can be flown over lines spaced as close as 5 m apart in the cross-track direction to synthesize a two-dimensional aperture would be ideal for collecting fine-resolution data over glaciers like Jakobshavn near their grounding lines

    Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of CD105 Expression with a 64Cu-Labeled Monoclonal Antibody: NOTA Is Superior to DOTA

    Optimizing the in vivo stability of positron emission tomography (PET) tracers is of critical importance to cancer diagnosis. In the case of 64Cu-labeled monoclonal antibodies (mAb), in vivo behavior and biodistribution is critically dependent on the performance of the bifunctional chelator used to conjugate the mAb to the radiolabel. This study compared the in vivo characteristics of 64Cu-labeled TRC105 (a chimeric mAb that binds to both human and murine CD105), through two commonly used chelators: 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid (NOTA) and 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid (DOTA). Flow cytometry analysis confirmed that chelator conjugation of TRC105 did not affect its CD105 binding affinity or specificity. PET imaging and biodistribution studies in 4T1 murine breast tumor-bearing mice revealed that 64Cu-NOTA-TRC105 exhibited better stability than 64Cu-DOTA-TRC105 in vivo, which resulted in significantly lower liver uptake without compromising the tumor targeting efficiency. In conclusion, this study confirmed that NOTA is a superior chelator to DOTA for PET imaging with 64Cu-labeled TRC105

    A critical review of employee turnover model (1938-2009) and development in perspective of performance

    Retaining employees remains a primary concern for many organizations during days of intellectual property, for intellectual capital has become a critical component of wealth creation. This paper provides a theoretical overview of the different periods of motives and domains or targets of employee retention/turnover and highlights the performing importance from the platform of social capital in research. The objective of this study is to present literature on the complex relationship between individual performance characters and withdraw tendency based on Social Capital Theory. It is generally revealed that in the traditional attitude turnover model the process of employees' volunteer turnover is the reversed transformation process of employees' retention psychology and behaviours, mainly consisting of four sectors (Lee and Mitchell, 1999): first is the quit process caused by job dissatisfaction; then, employees' search for substitutable jobs before turnover; is evaluation on such substitutable jobs; and result is occurrence of turnover behaviour. Finally, an integrative model of the relationship is proposed which argues that performance character may lead to withdraw tendency even turnover behavior through four different routes with the introduction of the Job-Coupling variable. The practical implication of the proposed model for practitioners and researchers encourage further discussion and suggestions

Then discuss some new development of Organizational Commitment in commitment tendency or combined influence to organizational outcomes. This paper will argue some of thinking and ideas developed so far do provide the basic building blocks for suggesting a conceptualization that will attempt to clarify and to better represent the concept of organizational commitment. The advantages of suggested theory and its implications for the understanding of organizational commitment and future research on it are discussed

    Effective contact texture region aware pavement skid resistance prediction via convolutional neural network

    The surface texture of asphalt pavement has a significant effect on skid resistance performance. However, its contribution to the performance of skid resistance is non-homogeneous and subjects to local validity. There are also a few deep learning models that take into account the effective contact texture region. This paper proposes a convolutional neural network model based on the effective contact texture region, containing macro- and micro-scale awareness sub-modules. In this study, the asphalt mixture with varying gradations was designed to accurately obtain the effective contact texture region. Then, the textures were disentangled into macro- and micro-texture scales by applying the fast Fourier transform and fed into the model for training. Finally, the area of effective contact texture region was calculated, and the effective contact ratio parameter was then proposed using the triangulation algorithm. The results showed that the effective contact texture area of pavement varies by the asphalt mixture type. The effective contact ratio parameter exhibited a significant positive correlation (Pearson correlation coefficient is 0.901, R2= 0.8129) with skid resistance performance and was also influenced by key sieve aggregate content from 2.36 to 4.75 mm. The data of effective contact texture region following disentanglement significantly released the model performance (the relative error dropped to 1.81%).
