Group 12 and group 13 metal complexes of cross-bridged tetraamine macrocycles

The use of radiometal-based radiopharmaceuticals for the therapy and diagnostic imaging of various diseases is rapidly increasing. Metal complex stability in vivo is an important factor to keep the metal chelate intact under physiological conditions for the radiopharmaceutical application. A novel class of cross-bridged tetraazamacrocycles with nonadjacent nitrogens bridged by an ethylene unit was developed to make metal complexes with good thermodynamic stability and higher kinetic inertness towards dissociation. Complexes of Ga(III) and In(III) radionuclides are widely used in diagnostic imaging and their respective half-lives are convenient for specific diseases. The new complexes [In-CB-DO2A]+ and [In-CB-TE2A]+ have been prepared by direct and indirect routes respectively. In addition, to predict how these complexes will survive in vivo, their decomplexation half-lives under forcing conditions are used as first indicators. Related diamagnetic Ga3+, In3+, Zn2+ , Cd2+, and Hg2+ complexes were also included for these acid decomplexation studies by NMR spectroscopy in DCl/D 2O solution. In general, relative inertness can be correlated to their solid-state structures

The Impact of Sleep Apnea on Conventional Doppler Indices

AbstractObjectiveTo prospectively explore the impact of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) on conventional Doppler indices and to identify possible negative prognostic factors for left ventricular diastolic dysfunction. Materials and Methods: All included subjects had overnight polysomnog-raphy. All subjects underwent a comprehensive echocardiography examination to evaluate systolic and diastolic function of the left ventricle. A multiple logistic regression model was created to identify potential negative prognostic factors for left ventricular dysfunction.ResultsA significant decrease in the ratio of early and atrial mitral flow velocity (E/A ratio) in OSA patients was found. Patients with moderate-to-severe OSA had a significant increase in the odds ratio for development of an abnormal E/A ratio (p=0.014, multivariate logistic regression). There was a significant negative correlation between E/A ratio and apnea-hypopnea index (p = 0.01). Non-obese OSA patients and obese-OSA patients carried significantly increased odds ratios for the development of a reduced E/A ratio (p = 0.02 and 0.038, respectively).ConclusionSubjects with OSA had reduced mitral E/A ratios, which implies possible impaired diastolic heart function. Further study to reverse impaired diastolic function via lifestyle modifications and treatment with nasal continuous positive airway pressure or surgery is warranted

Multi-Label Zero-Shot Learning with Structured Knowledge Graphs

In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning architecture for multi-label zero-shot learning (ML-ZSL), which is able to predict multiple unseen class labels for each input instance. Inspired by the way humans utilize semantic knowledge between objects of interests, we propose a framework that incorporates knowledge graphs for describing the relationships between multiple labels. Our model learns an information propagation mechanism from the semantic label space, which can be applied to model the interdependencies between seen and unseen class labels. With such investigation of structured knowledge graphs for visual reasoning, we show that our model can be applied for solving multi-label classification and ML-ZSL tasks. Compared to state-of-the-art approaches, comparable or improved performances can be achieved by our method.Comment: CVPR 201

Factores en el acoso cibernético: el modelo de actitud-influencia social-eficacia

    Get PDF
This study examines the correlation between risk perception, knowledge, social influence, self-efficacy, and cyber bullying behavior from the perspective of the attitude-social influence-efficacy model. The samples in this survey are adolescents who have had cyber bullying behavior or have witnessed their peers’ cyber bullying behavior. The results showed that attitude towards cyber bullying affected cyber bullying intention, and that intention also influenced cyber bullying behavior. Social influence also had an impact on cyber bullying intention and cyber bullying behavior. In fact, intention was a mediator between attitude and behavior, as well as between social influence and behavior.

Absorptive Capacity And MNC Knowledge Transfer: The Organizational Behavior Perspective

    Get PDF
Many previous studies on internal knowledge transfer in multinational corporations (MNCs) have indicated that organizational absorptive capacity (AC) has a significant effect on knowledge transfer, but few scholars have dwelt on employee absorptive capacity. Employee AC is fundamental to organizational AC. Therefore, employee AC is an important management issue. From an organizational behavior perspective, this study attempted to explore whether employees personality traits, job characteristics and organizational environment had an impact on their absorptive capacity, hoping to develop a new research direction for the AC research realm

Consumers value the advice of others when they are shopping online. Therefore, some high pageview bloggers could have a great influence on a consumer’s shopping decision. Blog marketing is a new communication tool. “Blog trustworthiness”, “product attitude” and “blog involvement” were the three independent variables used in this study to investigate the aspect of purchase intention. This study found that blog involvement had a significant influence on purchase intention. This result contributes concrete suggestions to enterprises when they are dealing with blog marketing
