MIXING BEHAVIOR AND HYDRODYNAMIC STUDY OF GASSOLID-SOLID FLUIDIZATION SYSTEM: CO-FLUIDIZATION OF FCC AND COARSE PARTICLES

Gas-solid-solid (GSS) fluidization system is a unique piece of equipment and its features related to better mixing quality. The mixing and hydrodynamic behavior of FCC particles with coarse particles is investigated in 2D and 3D cofluidized beds. The reason of enhancing mixing and fluidization properties by adding coarse particles is particularly due to the movement of coarse particles, those breaks the strong interparticle forces between FCC particles and destroy bubble wake (bubble disassociation strategy), time to time. The attrition mass was measured by using Zeeshan relationship at designated conditions

The title compound, C8H8N4, possesses crystallographic mirror symmetry, with four C atoms lying on the reflecting plane, which bisects the phenyl and tetrazole rings. It is composed of a planar r.m.s. deviation (0.0012 Å) tetrazole ring which is nearly coplanar with the benzene ring, the dihedral angle being 2.67 (9)°. In the crystal, symmetry-related molecules are linked by intermolecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The molecules stack along [100] with a π⋯π interaction involving the phenyl and tetrazole rings of adjacent molecules [centroid–centroid distance = 3.5639 (15) Å]. The H atom of the N—H group is disordered over two sites of equal occupancy. The methyl H atoms were modelled as disordered over two sets of sites of equal occupancy rotated by 60° with respect to each other

Studies on Propane Dehydrogenation to Propylene in a Gas-Solid-Sold Fluidized Bed Reactor

Platinum and tin deposited on mixed support of SAPO-34 and alumina oxide at certain proportion constitute a new catalyst of good catalytic performance. The catalyst was tested in a Gas-Solid-Solid fluidized bed reactor. Cold model experiment was carried on to obtain fluidization curves and characteristic velocities. Reaction results in the GSS-FBR showed that propylene yield was improved by 5 % compared with that in micro fixed bed reactor

A model local interpretation routine for deep learning based radio galaxy classification

Radio galaxy morphological classification is one of the critical steps when producing source catalogues for large-scale radio continuum surveys. While many recent studies attempted to classify source radio morphology from survey image data using deep learning algorithms (i.e., Convolutional Neural Networks), they concentrated on model robustness most time. It is unclear whether a model similarly makes predictions as radio astronomers did. In this work, we used Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanation (LIME), an state-of-the-art eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) technique to explain model prediction behaviour and thus examine the hypothesis in a proof-of-concept manner. In what follows, we describe how \textbf{LIME} generally works and early results about how it helped explain predictions of a radio galaxy classification model using this technique.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, accepted summary paper for URSI GASS 2023 J0

Near-Term Quantum Computing Techniques: Variational Quantum Algorithms, Error Mitigation, Circuit Compilation, Benchmarking and Classical Simulation

Quantum computing is a game-changing technology for global academia, research centers and industries including computational science, mathematics, finance, pharmaceutical, materials science, chemistry and cryptography. Although it has seen a major boost in the last decade, we are still a long way from reaching the maturity of a full-fledged quantum computer. That said, we will be in the Noisy-Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) era for a long time, working on dozens or even thousands of qubits quantum computing systems. An outstanding challenge, then, is to come up with an application that can reliably carry out a nontrivial task of interest on the near-term quantum devices with non-negligible quantum noise. To address this challenge, several near-term quantum computing techniques, including variational quantum algorithms, error mitigation, quantum circuit compilation and benchmarking protocols, have been proposed to characterize and mitigate errors, and to implement algorithms with a certain resistance to noise, so as to enhance the capabilities of near-term quantum devices and explore the boundaries of their ability to realize useful applications. Besides, the development of near-term quantum devices is inseparable from the efficient classical simulation, which plays a vital role in quantum algorithm design and verification, error-tolerant verification and other applications. This review will provide a thorough introduction of these near-term quantum computing techniques, report on their progress, and finally discuss the future prospect of these techniques, which we hope will motivate researchers to undertake additional studies in this field.Comment: Please feel free to email He-Liang Huang with any comments, questions, suggestions or concern

A nonalcoholic fatty liver disease cirrhosis model in gerbil:the dynamic relationship between hepatic lipid metabolism and cirrhosis

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) usually takes decades to develop into cirrhosis, which limits the longitudinal study of NAFLD. This work aims at developing a NAFLD-caused cirrhosis model in gerbil and examining the dynamic relationship between hepatic lipid metabolism and cirrhosis. We fed gerbil a high-fat and high-cholesterol diet (HFHCD) for 24 weeks, and recorded the gerbil's phenotype at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 weeks. The model's pathological process, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, liver collagen deposition and presence of relevant cytokines were tested and evaluated during the full-time frame of disease onset. The gerbil model can induce nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) within 9 weeks, and can develop cirrhosis after 21 weeks induction. The model's lipids metabolism disorder is accompanied with the liver damage development. During the NAFLD progression, triglycerides (TG) and free fatty acids (FFA) have presented distinct rise and fall tendency, and the turning points are at the fibrosis stage. Besides that, the ratios of total cholesterol (CHO) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) exhibited constant growth tendency, and have a good linear relationship with hepatic stellate cells (HSC) (R-2 = 0.802, P <0.001). The gerbil NAFLD cirrhosis model has been developed and possesses positive correlation between lipids metabolism and cirrhosis. The compelling rise and fall tendency of TG and FFA indicated that the fibrosis progression can lead to impairment in lipoprotein synthesis and engender decreased TG level. CHO/HDL-C ratios can imply the fibrosis progress and be used as a blood indicator for disease prediction and prevention
