Microsolvation Of The Green Fluorescent Protein Chromophore One Water Molecule At A Time

    Get PDF
Solvation plays an important role in the function of fluorescent proteins. Many of these proteins contain a functional water molecule in the chromophore pocket, which can influence the electronic properties of the chromophore. In the case of the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), a single water molecule is coordinated to the phenolate group of the chromophore, raising questions about the effect this has on the electronic spectrum of GFP. Here, we present the electronic and infrared spectra of a model system for the GFP chromophore in complexes with up to two water molecules

Hadronic gas models in particle production and phase transitions

In this work the methods of exact quantum number conservation in statistical mechanics are discussed and applied to the field of high energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. Various types of hadronic gas models are discussed as well as their merits and restrictions. Attempts to construct a phenomenological equation of state for nuclear matter are discussed in the context of the phase transition from hadronic matter to the quark-gluon plasma (QGP)

What drives the purchase decision in Instagram stores?

    Get PDF
The popularity of social media and particularly Instagram grows steadily. People use the different platforms to share pictures as well as videos and to communicate with friends. The potential of social media platforms is also being used for marketing purposes and for selling products. While for Facebook and other online social media platforms the purchase decision factors are investigated several times, Instagram stores remain mainly unattended so far. The present research work closes this gap and sheds light into decisive factors for purchasing products offered in Instagram stores. A theoretical research model, which contains selected constructs that are assumed to have a significant influence on Instagram user´s purchase intention, is developed. The hypotheses are evaluated by applying structural equation modelling on survey data containing 127 relevant participants. The results of the study reveal that ‘trust’, ‘personal recommendation’, and ‘usability’ significantly influences user’s buying intention in Instagram stores

The electronic spectrum of cryogenic ruthenium-tris-bipyridine dications

    Get PDF
We present the electronic spectrum of Ru(II)-tris(2,2’-bipyridine), Ru(bpy)32+_3^{2+}, measured by photodissociation spectroscopy of mass selected Ru(bpy)32+_3^{2+}\cdotN2_2 ions prepared in a cryogenic quadrupole ion trap. The spectrum is composed of several metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions, as well as metal centered bands and ligand centered \pi \pi^ states. We observe several partially resolved electronic transitions in the MLCT band. We discuss the results in the framework of time-dependent density functional theory

Automatic Resource Allocation in Business Processes: A Systematic Literature Survey

For delivering products or services to their clients, organizations execute manifold business processes. During such execution, upcoming process tasks need to be allocated to internal resources. Resource allocation is a complex decision-making problem with high impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of processes. A wide range of approaches was developed to support research allocation automatically. This systematic literature survey provides an overview of approaches and categorizes them regarding their resource allocation goals and capabilities, their use of models and data, their algorithmic solutions, and their maturity. Rule-based approaches were identified as dominant, but heuristics and learning approaches also play a relevant role
