Dark Energy in Modified Supergravity
We propose a supersymmetric extension of the dynamical dark energy function
and the corresponding scalar (super)potential in F(R) supergravity. Our model
is viable in the Einstein approximation, and also has an analytic (regular)
Wess-Zumino-type scalar superpotential. The hidden sector responsible for
spontaneous supersymmetry breaking is given.Comment: LaTeX, 9 pages, 1 figure; secs. 2 and 3 extended, references updated,

Breadand Effervescent Beverage Productions with Local Microbes for the Local Revitalization
Local microbes such as yeasts fungi and bacilli, were isolated and used to apply for the food processing (bread making) and the production of an effervescent beverage (fruits kvass) for promotion of the local revitalization. Our yeast isolates could contribute to make the breads that can sell in alocal bakery shop. Furthermore, the same yeasts could be used for making the fruit kvass (a Russian effervescent beverage which was fermented by yeast) with local fruit products (lemon, dry grape, mandarin orange and apple that were produced in Hiroshima prefecture in Japan). Development of merchandise having the local brand, which was made with only products of Hiroshima prefecture was attempted. Results of these activities demonstrate that the search of local microbes can help to establish the regional brand product related to its local area. They also showed that the local microbes have the potential ability to lead the local revitalization and the local brand product
Fourth-order gravity as the inflationary model revisited
We revisit the old (fourth-order or quadratically generated) gravity model of
Starobinsky in four space-time dimensions, and derive the (inflaton) scalar
potential in the equivalent scalar-tensor gravity model via a Legendre-Weyl
transform. The inflaton scalar potential is used to compute the (CMB)
observables of inflation associated with curvature perturbations (namely, the
scalar and tensor spectral indices, and the tensor-to-scalar ratio), including
the new next-to-leading-order terms with respect to the inverse number of
e-foldings. The results are compared to the recent (WMAP5) experimental bounds.
We confirm both mathematical and physical equivalence between f(R) gravity
theories and the corresponding scalar-tensor gravity theories.Comment: 10 pages, 1 figure, 1 table, LaTeX; few comments added, style

A case of newly demonstrated coronary spasm 4 months after paclitaxel-eluting stent implantation for in-stent restenosis
SummaryA 56-year-old woman with hypertension and hypercholesterolemia was admitted to our hospital with acute inferior myocardial infarction. The patient had total occlusion of the right coronary artery (RCA) segment 2, and bare-metal stents were placed. Four months later, plain old balloon angioplasty was performed for in-stent restenosis. Follow-up coronary angiography (CAG) 6 months later showed in-stent total occlusion, so a stent-in-stent procedure was performed using paclitaxel-eluting stents (PESs). Four months later, the patient began complaining of early morning chest pain at rest. CAG showed no in-stent restenosis, so coronary spastic angina was suspected. Intracoronary infusion of ergonovine to the right and left coronary arteries revealed spasm of the RCA with total occlusion just proximal to the PES in segment 1. Her chest pain was reproduced with ST-elevation in leads II, III, and aVF, so the diagnosis of coronary spastic angina was made. Treatment with a Ca-channel blocker and nitrates relieved the symptoms. The PES was the probable cause of the coronary spasm
Slow-roll inflation in (R+R*4) gravity
We reconsider the toy-model of topological inflation, based on the
R*4-modified gravity. By using its equivalence to the certain scalar-tensor
gravity model in four space-time dimensions, we compute the inflaton scalar
potential and investigate a possibility of inflation. We confirm the existence
of the slow-roll inflation with an exit. However, the model suffers from the
eta-problem that gives rise to the unacceptable value of the spectral index n_s
of scalar perturbations.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, LaTeX, misprints corrected and references
