    We express recent double-sums studied by Wang, Yee, and Liu in terms of two types of Hecke-type double-sum building blocks. When possible we determine the (mock) modularity. We also express a recent qq-hypergeometric function of Andrews as a mixed mock modular form

    In this paper we present a new class of dynamical system without equilibria which possesses a multi scroll attractor. It is a piecewise-linear (PWL) system which is simple, stable, displays chaotic behavior and serves as a model for analogous non-linear systems.     © Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons. Session I of the Neutrino Oscillation Workshop 2018 Conference, “Neutrino Oscillations: Present”, is summarised. Results were presented by the currently-running long-baseline oscillation experiments T2K and NOvA, as well as from the accelerator experiments OPERA and MiniBooNE. Status reports and results from experiments using short-baseline accelerator neutrinos (ICARUS and MicroBooNE), atmospheric neutrinos (Super-K, IceCube and ANTARES), and those from reactors (Daya Bay and Double Chooz), and from the Sun and the Earth (Borexino) were also presented. Our current knowledge of neutrino oscillation parameters depends significantly on the experimental inputs that inform us of details of the production and interactions of neutrinos, which were presented by the NA61/SHINE hadron production experiment and cross section measurements from T2K and MINERvA, as well as a review of the status of our understanding of neutrino production at nuclear reactors. The session also included theoretical reviews of the current status of neutrino oscillations, and phenomenological studies on neutrino tomography and experimental studies to support nuclear matrix element calculations (NUMEN)

    A mass that has no (EBUS) echo.

    We report findings for a patient that underwent endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) guided transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) for diagnostic purposes after an abnormal chest CT. The patient initially presented with cough and shortness of breath. Chest CT revealed a 6 cm soft tissue mass with mildly enlarged right hilar lymph nodes (LNs) and a small right sided pleural effusion. Based on these radiologic findings, the patient underwent an EBUS guided FNA of the mass. To our surprise, the mass was hypoechoic by EBUS and on aspiration, the syringe filled with yellow fluid. This finding in combination with a re-review of the CT scans with a special focus on the Hounsfield Units of the lesion confirmed the diagnosis of a mediastinal bronchogenic cyst. This case demonstrates the role of Hounsfield units in analyzing mediastinal masses and highlights the effectiveness of EBUS guided TBNA in diagnosis and treatment of bronchogenic cysts

    Robust image matching algorithm using SIFT on multiple layered strategies

    As for the unsatisfactory accuracy caused by SIFT (scale-invariant feature transform) in complicated image matching, a novel matching method on multiple layered strategies is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the coarse data sets are filtered by Euclidean distance. Next, geometric feature consistency constraint is adopted to refine the corresponding feature points, discarding the points with uncoordinated slope values. Thirdly, scale and orientation clustering constraint method is proposed to precisely choose the matching points. The scale and orientation differences are employed as the elements of -means clustering in the method. Thus, two sets of feature points and the refined data set are obtained. Finally, 3 * delta rule of the refined data set is used to search all the remaining points. Our multiple layered strategies make full use of feature constraint rules to improve the matching accuracy of SIFT algorithm. The proposed matching method is compared to the traditional SIFT descriptor in various tests. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the traditional SIFT algorithm with respect to correction ratio and repeatability.Yong Chen, Lei Shang and Eric H
