Harvesting Discriminative Meta Objects with Deep CNN Features for Scene Classification

    Get PDF
Recent work on scene classification still makes use of generic CNN features in a rudimentary manner. In this ICCV 2015 paper, we present a novel pipeline built upon deep CNN features to harvest discriminative visual objects and parts for scene classification. We first use a region proposal technique to generate a set of high-quality patches potentially containing objects, and apply a pre-trained CNN to extract generic deep features from these patches. Then we perform both unsupervised and weakly supervised learning to screen these patches and discover discriminative ones representing category-specific objects and parts. We further apply discriminative clustering enhanced with local CNN fine-tuning to aggregate similar objects and parts into groups, called meta objects. A scene image representation is constructed by pooling the feature response maps of all the learned meta objects at multiple spatial scales. We have confirmed that the scene image representation obtained using this new pipeline is capable of delivering state-of-the-art performance on two popular scene benchmark datasets, MIT Indoor 67~\cite{MITIndoor67} and Sun397~\cite{Sun397}Comment: To Appear in ICCV 201

MDSC: Towards Evaluating the Style Consistency Between Music and

We propose MDSC(Music-Dance-Style Consistency), the first evaluation metric which assesses to what degree the dance moves and music match. Existing metrics can only evaluate the fidelity and diversity of motion and the degree of rhythmic matching between music and motion. MDSC measures how stylistically correlated the generated dance motion sequences and the conditioning music sequences are. We found that directly measuring the embedding distance between motion and music is not an optimal solution. We instead tackle this through modelling it as a clustering problem. Specifically, 1) we pre-train a music encoder and a motion encoder, then 2) we learn to map and align the motion and music embedding in joint space by jointly minimizing the intra-cluster distance and maximizing the inter-cluster distance, and 3) for evaluation purpose, we encode the dance moves into embedding and measure the intra-cluster and inter-cluster distances, as well as the ratio between them. We evaluate our metric on the results of several music-conditioned motion generation methods, combined with user study, we found that our proposed metric is a robust evaluation metric in measuring the music-dance style correlation. Experimental study on ground vibration response in gun firing environment

    Get PDF
In order to know the ground vibration response law of gun firing environment, a large caliber gun was taken as the research object, and the ground vibration response law of gun firing environment was tested. Several acceleration sensors are arranged on the ground around the gun, and the ground vibration acceleration response laws of the gun position in the firing environment are obtained. The firing of gun will cause the ground vibration of gun position. In the bore period, as long as the projectile is fired, there will be acceleration response on the ground of the gun position. The maximum acceleration response of ground vibration in the bore period of projectile is less than 0.03 g. The maximum acceleration response of ground vibration is less than 0.1 g after projectile exits the muzzle and before the muzzle shock wave reaches the ground. If the sensor bracket is placed on the ground around the gun, when the muzzle shock wave does not reach the sensor position, the influence of ground vibration on the sensor can be neglected. Once the muzzle shock wave reaches the sensor position, its influence should be paid attention to

Study on experiment measurement method of braking force of muzzle brake for vibration analysis

The braking force of the muzzle brake affects not only the strength of the connection thread of the muzzle brake, but also the vibration response of the artillery structure. Due to the complex formation process of the braking force of the muzzle brake, the current theoretical calculation method is used to estimate. This paper presents an experimental measurement method for artillery force of muzzle brake, which describes the measurement principle and deduces the calculation formula. The small-caliber cannon with muzzle brake is selected as the test object. A verification shooting experiment is carried out to obtain the size of the artillery force of the muzzle brake. The measurement values of the artillery force are basically consistent with the theoretical ones. The measurement method and principle introduced in this paper can be applied in the actual artillery force measurement of the muzzle brake. In this paper, the strain measurement principle is used to complete the experimental test of the braking force of the muzzle brake. This paper innovatively proposes a new method for testing the braking force, which has the advantages of simple operation, no need to manufacture special tooling, and low cost
