Robust Half-Metallic Character and Large Oxygen Magnetism in a Perovskite Cuprate

The new perovskite cuprate material Sr8_{8}CaRe3_{3}Cu4_{4}O24_{24}, which behaves ferrimagnetically and shows an unusually high Curie temperature (Tc∼T_c \sim 440 K), is found from density-functional theory calculation to display several surprising properties after hole doping or chemical substitution: (1) Half metal (HM) is realized by replacing Re with W or Mo while TcT_c remains high; (2) hole-doped Sr8_{8}CaRe3_{3}Cu4_{4}O24_{24} is also HM with high TcT_c. Moreover, we find that the O atoms will carry a large magnetic moment after hole doping, which is in sharp contrast with the generally accepted concept that magnetism in solid requires partially filled shells of dd or ff electrons in cations. The material Sr8_8CaRe3_3Cu4_4O24_{24} is therefore expected to provide a very useful platform for material design and development.Comment: 5 pages and 4 figure

Enhancement of Dark Matter Annihilation via Breit-Wigner Resonance

The Breit-Wigner enhancement of the thermally averaged annihilation cross section is shown to provide a large boost factor when the dark matter annihilation process nears a narrow resonance. We explicitly demonstrate the evolution behavior of the Breit-Wigner enhanced as the function of universe temperature for both the physical and unphysical pole cases. It is found that both of the cases can lead an enough large boost factor to explain the recent PAMELA, ATIC and PPB-BETS anomalies. We also calculate the coupling of annihilation process, which is useful for an appropriate model building to give the desired dark matter relic density.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, references added, accepted for publication in Physical Review

Population growth and high population densities caused providing pedestrian of transportation such as people crossing bridge, have started in several locations of congested traffic. People crossing bridge is intended to facilitate the pedestrians to cross the road in comfort and safety. This is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach as a tool of analysis. The research was conducted at Pekanbaru, with a focus of research on the implementation of policie sregarding pedestrian facilities such as people crossing bridge in Pekanbaru and factors that affectingthe implementation of policies about people crossing bridge didnt maximal which used the theory by Edward III. Techniques of data collection were interviews, observati on and documentation. After research, the authors conclude that implementation of policies about people crossing bridges didnt maximal because the existence of a people crossing bridges was rarely used and often miss functioned. The affecting factors of didnt maximalis less effective communication, the limited available resources, the attitude of implementator. The factors that most influence implementation of policies about people crossing bridges are resource constraints such as budget or funds that have not been owned by the Pekanbaru government and there isnt punishment to the existence of people crossing bridges that violates the rules and functioned incorrectly.Keyword : Implementation, PeopleCrossingBridge, Policy

Nonlinear ac response of anisotropic composites

When a suspension consisting of dielectric particles having nonlinear characteristics is subjected to a sinusoidal (ac) field, the electrical response will in general consist of ac fields at frequencies of the higher-order harmonics. These ac responses will also be anisotropic. In this work, a self-consistent formalism has been employed to compute the induced dipole moment for suspensions in which the suspended particles have nonlinear characteristics, in an attempt to investigate the anisotropy in the ac response. The results showed that the harmonics of the induced dipole moment and the local electric field are both increased as the anisotropy increases for the longitudinal field case, while the harmonics are decreased as the anisotropy increases for the transverse field case. These results are qualitatively understood with the spectral representation. Thus, by measuring the ac responses both parallel and perpendicular to the uniaxial anisotropic axis of the field-induced structures, it is possible to perform a real-time monitoring of the field-induced aggregation process.Comment: 14 pages and 4 eps figure

Searching for Dark Matter Signals in the Left-Right Symmetric Gauge Model with CP Symmetry

We investigate singlet scalar dark matter (DM) candidate in a left-right symmetric gauge model with two Higgs bidoublets (2HBDM) in which the stabilization of the DM particle is induced by the discrete symmetries P and CP. According to the observed DM abundance, we predict the DM direct and indirect detection cross sections for the DM mass range from 10 GeV to 500 GeV. We show that the DM indirect detection cross section is not sensitive to the light Higgs mixing and Yukawa couplings except the resonance regions. The predicted spin-independent DM-nucleon elastic scattering cross section is found to be significantly dependent on the above two factors. Our results show that the future DM direct search experiments can cover the most parts of the allowed parameter space. The PAMELA antiproton data can only exclude two very narrow regions in the 2HBDM. It is very difficult to detect the DM direct or indirect signals in the resonance regions due to the Breit-Wigner resonance effect.Comment: 24 pages, 8 figures. minor changes and a reference added, published in Phys. The enactment of Law No. 32 Year 2004 on Regional Government as a form of refinement of the Act No. 22 of 1999 that is considered still has many weaknesses . In Act No. 32 of 2004 there was no change to the establishment of village head but there is a change to the term of office . For the determination of village head is fixed directly elected by the villagers in Article 25 ( 5 ) , and under section 91 ( 3 ) for a term of six years and the Chief can only be re-elected for one more next term. Based on legislation applicable and the determination of the true term should refer to the village chief or guided by the existing regulations . However, an interesting phenomenon to be studied , that the village Pauh subdistrict Bonai Darussalam Rokan Hulu province of Law No. 32 of 2004 for the establishment and tenure of village head is not enforced . This research was conducted in the village of Bonai Darussalam Pauh subdistrict Rokan Hulu , which is the key informants in this study is Agusman as acting interim ( PJS ) Pauh village and BPD. In doing this data collection , the data obtained from in-depth interviews to the informant . Once the data is collected and then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis . From the results of this study concluded that the inconsistent Consultative Body (BPD ) Pauh in exercising its functions and powers as well as the interest by certain parties , and also village Pauh less given serious consideration by the District and the Local Government of Rokan Hulu .Keywords: Implementation of Policies, Political Interests, Leadership, Power
