    Wie zuverlässig ist die Verwirklichung von Stichprobenverfahren? Random route versus Einwohnermeldeamtsstichprobe

    Full text link
    Am Beispiel einer 1988 vom Deutschen Jugendinstitut durchgeführten Umfrage, bei der die Stichprobe einmal über eine Auswahl aus den Einwohnermeldeamtsdateien, zum anderen über ein random route-Verfahren gezogen wurde, wird die Repräsentativität beider Verfahren an den Ergebnissen des Mikrozensus getestet. Es wird ermittelt, daß die großen Abweichungen im random route-Verfahren auf die Manipulation der Interviewer bei der Auswahl der Interviewpartner zurückzuführen ist. Professionalität, d.h. die Durchführung einer weitaus höheren Zahl an Interviews als vorgegeben, führt zu höheren Manipulationseffekten. Die Einschränkung der Manipulationsmöglichkeiten durch Vorgabe der Zielpersonen verbessert dagegen die Qualität der Daten. (psz

    Das Timing der Familiengründung und dessen Folgen für Familien

    "Ausgehend vom lückenhaften Forschungsstand zu den Folgen des Timing von Elternschaft für die Lebenslage, Lebensform, und Lebensführung von Müttern, Vätern und Kindern werden Hypothesen zu diesem Zusammenhang entwickelt und anschließend mit Daten des DJI-Surveys AID:A für die Familiengründungsphase überprüft. Wo möglich, werden die Befunde mit Daten aus dem Mikrozensus 2007 validiert. Der Analyse sind Überlegungen zur Definition von 'früher' und 'später' Elternschaft vorgeschaltet. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass zentrale Aspekte der sozialen Lage und der Institutionalisierungsgrad der Paarbeziehung mit dem biografischen Zeitpunkt der Familiengründung variieren. Das Zeitbudget für das Kind und die Zufriedenheit der Eltern werden durch den biografischen Zeitpunkt der Familiengründung aber kaum beeinflusst." (Autorenreferat)"Little is known about the consequences of the timing of family formation for the living conditions, the civil status, the conduct of life and the well-being of mothers, fathers and their children. This study is based on the DJI Survey AID:A, and the official statistics of the 2007 German Microcensus. The analysis includes considerations about the definition of 'early' and 'late' parenthood. Results: Living conditions, educational background, marital status and the stability of partnership vary by the timing of the first child. The timing of family formation hardly has an impact on the time that parents spend with their first child nor does it influence their contentment." (author's abstract

    Im Mittelpunkt des Familiensurveys stehen folgende Themenbereiche: Pluralisierung von Lebensführung, Regionalisierung von Problembereichen, Singularisierung von Lebensformen, sozialer Wandel, soziale Ungleichheit, Staat und Familie, soziale und kulturelle Aspekte. Hauptfragerichtungen betreffen die aktuelle Lebenssituation und Lebensform, die sozialen Beziehungen sowie die Lebensläufe der Befragten. Der Familiensurvey verbindet relativ große Stichproben mit komplexen Erhebungsdesigns und anspruchsvollen methodischen Zugängen. (ICE2

    Oseltamivir Is Adequately Absorbed Following Nasogastric Administration to Adult Patients with Severe H5N1 Influenza

    In the absence of a parenteral drug, oral oseltamivir is currently recommended by the WHO for treating H5N1 influenza. Whether oseltamivir absorption is adequate in severe influenza is unknown. We measured the steady state, plasma concentrations of nasogastrically administered oseltamivir 150 mg bid and its active metabolite, oseltamivir carboxylate (OC), in three, mechanically ventilated patients with severe H5N1 (male, 30 yrs; pregnant female, 22 yrs) and severe H3N2 (female, 76 yrs). Treatments were started 6, 7 and 8 days after illness onset, respectively. Both females were sampled while on continuous venovenous haemofiltration. Admission and follow up specimens (trachea, nose, throat, rectum, blood) were tested for RNA viral load by reverse transcriptase PCR. In vitro virus susceptibility to OC was measured by a neuraminidase inhibition assay. Admission creatinine clearances were 66 (male, H5N1), 82 (female, H5N1) and 6 (H3N2) ml/min. Corresponding AUC0–12 values (5932, 10,951 and 34,670 ng.h/ml) and trough OC concentrations (376, 575 and 2730 ng/ml) were higher than previously reported in healthy volunteers; the latter exceeded 545 to 3956 fold the H5N1 IC50 (0.69 ng/ml) isolated from the H5N1 infected female. Two patients with follow-up respiratory specimens cleared their viruses after 5 (H5N1 male) and 5 (H3N2 female) days of oseltamivir. Both female patients died of respiratory failure; the male survived. 150 mg bid of oseltamivir was well absorbed and converted extensively to OC. Virus was cleared in two patients but two patients died, suggesting viral efficacy but poor clinical efficacy

    A study of CP violation in B-+/- -> DK +/- and B-+/- -> D pi(+/-) decays with D -> (KSK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+) final states

    A first study of CP violation in the decay modes B±[KS0K±π]Dh±B^\pm\to [K^0_{\rm S} K^\pm \pi^\mp]_D h^\pm and B±[KS0Kπ±]Dh±B^\pm\to [K^0_{\rm S} K^\mp \pi^\pm]_D h^\pm, where hh labels a KK or π\pi meson and DD labels a D0D^0 or D0\overline{D}^0 meson, is performed. The analysis uses the LHCb data set collected in pppp collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb1^{-1}. The analysis is sensitive to the CP-violating CKM phase γ\gamma through seven observables: one charge asymmetry in each of the four modes and three ratios of the charge-integrated yields. The results are consistent with measurements of γ\gamma using other decay modes

    A search for the rare decays Bs0π+πμ+μB_s^0 \to \pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- and B0π+πμ+μB^0 \to \pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- is performed in a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb1^{-1} collected by the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Decay candidates with pion pairs that have invariant mass in the range 0.5-1.3 GeV/c2c^2 and with muon pairs that do not originate from a resonance are considered. The first observation of the decay Bs0π+πμ+μB_s^0 \to \pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- and the first evidence of the decay B0π+πμ+μB^0 \to \pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^- are obtained and the branching fractions are measured to be B(Bs0π+πμ+μ)=(8.6±1.5(stat)±0.7(syst)±0.7(norm))×108\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to \pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^-)=(8.6\pm 1.5\,({\rm stat}) \pm 0.7\,({\rm syst})\pm 0.7\,({\rm norm}))\times 10^{-8} and B(B0π+πμ+μ)=(2.11±0.51(stat)±0.15(syst)±0.16(norm))×108\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to \pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^-)=(2.11\pm 0.51\,({\rm stat}) \pm 0.15\,({\rm syst})\pm 0.16\,({\rm norm}) )\times 10^{-8}, where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction of the decay B0J/ψ(μ+μ)K(890)0(K+π)B^0\to J/\psi(\to \mu^+\mu^-)K^*(890)^0(\to K^+\pi^-), used as a normalisation.A search for the rare decays Bs0→π+π−μ+μ− and B0→π+π−μ+μ− is performed in a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb−1 collected by the LHCb detector in proton–proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV .
