Matrix Nonlinear Schr\"odinger Equations and Moment Maps into Loop Algebras†{}^\dag

It is shown how Darboux coordinates on a reduced symplectic vector space may be used to parametrize the phase space on which the finite gap solutions of matrix nonlinear Schr\"odinger equations are realized as isospectral Hamiltonian flows. The parametrization follows from a moment map embedding of the symplectic vector space, reduced by suitable group actions, into the dual \tilde\grg^{+*} of the algebra \tilde\grg^+ of positive frequency loops in a Lie algebra \grg. The resulting phase space is identified with a Poisson subspace of \tilde\grg^{+*} consisting of elements that are rational in the loop parameter. Reduced coordinates associated to the various Hermitian symmetric Lie algebras (\grg,\grk) corresponding to the classical Lie algebras are obtained.Comment: 17 pgs, plus 4 Tables Preprint CRM-183

Badiou qua Badiou, or vanity of void ontology

A nonsensical claim is hardly worth the trouble to contest as long as nobody except its author takes it seriously. In some circles, however, French philosopher Alain Badiou is heralded as a great thinker. Especially his emphasis on multiplicity should raise interest from the perspective of information management. So, can Badiou’s ideas be put to practical use, there? After admitting that his perplexing obscurity prohibits responsible evaluation, this paper nonetheless proceeds to discuss Badiou’s major work Being and Event. Constructive advice cannot be derived, but at least a general warning is sounded against irresponsible nonsense

    Multiple axiomatization in information management

Information management is essentially multidisciplinary, requiring multiple axiomatization.Types of causality provide grounds for a productive framework. After developing a framework formultiple axiomatization in information management, Maes\u27s framework is introduced. From theordering of the so-called disciplinary types in the multiple axiomatization framework, a suggestion ismade to modify the framework of Maes. An attempt follows to match both frameworks. The concept ofsignifics is presented as the disciplinary type for researching motivational phenomena

    Reinventing Christian Doctrine

Providing an alternative to current Trinitarian and Christocentric approaches to dogmatics, this open access book instead centres the Augustinian and classical Reformation Law-Gospel distinction. Maarten Wisse demonstrates the viability of dogmatics based on the Law-Gospel distinction from both a historical and a systematic-theological perspective. From a historical perspective, Wisse shows that the actual use of Scripture should be understood as the interplay between a critical concern about the difference between God and the world on the one hand, and the witness to God’s presence in Christ in the world on the other. From a systematic-theological perspective, the benefits of approaching dogmatics through the dynamics between Law and Gospel is exemplified by discussions of key dogmatic topics, such as the doctrine of Scripture, predestination, atonement, the Eucharist and the theology of religions.
