Superconductivity mediated by the antiferromagnetic spin-wave in chalcogenide iron-base superconductors
The ground state of KFeSe and other iron-based
selenide superconductors are doped antiferromagnetic semiconductors. There are
well defined iron local moments whose energies are separated from those of
conduction electrons by a large band gap in these materials. We propose that
the low energy physics of this system is governed by a model Hamiltonian of
interacting electrons with on-site ferromagnetic exchange interactions and
inter-site superexchange interactions. We have derived the effective pairing
potential of electrons under the linear spin-wave approximation and shown that
the superconductivity can be driven by mediating coherent spin wave excitations
in these materials. Our work provides a natural account for the coexistence of
superconducting and antiferromagnetic long range orders observed by neutron
scattering and other experiments.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Mapping the Dirac point in gated bilayer graphene
We have performed low temperature scanning tunneling spectroscopy
measurements on exfoliated bilayer graphene on SiO2. By varying the back gate
voltage we observed a linear shift of the Dirac point and an opening of a band
gap due to the perpendicular electric field. In addition to observing a shift
in the Dirac point, we also measured its spatial dependence using spatially
resolved scanning tunneling spectroscopy. The spatial variation of the Dirac
point was not correlated with topographic features and therefore we attribute
its shift to random charged impurities.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figure
Optimization of medium composition for cisepoxysuccinate hydrolase production in Escherichia coli by response surface methodology
Response surface methodology was applied to identify and optimize the medium composition for the cis-epoxysuccinate hydrolase production in recombinant Escherichia coli. Plackett-Burman design was used in the first step to evaluate the effects of 8 variables on the enzyme activity. CaCl2, corn steep liquor and lactose were screened as significant factors and their concentrations were further optimized using response surface methodology based on 23 full factorial rotatable central composite design. The optimum predicted medium for maximum expression of recombinant  cis-epoxysuccinate hydrolase was found to comprise: 17.1 g/l Na2HPO4·12H2O, 2.0 g/l KH2PO4, 0.5 g/l NaCl, 1.0 g/l NH4Cl, 0.0111 g/l CaCl2 and 0.5 g/l MgSO4·7H2O, 17.18 ml/l corn steep liquor and 9.74 g/l lactose, with a predicted enzyme activity of 35490 U/g biomass, which was very close to the experimental activity of 36318 U/g biomass resulting in 1.7-fold increment after optimization
Incommensurate magnetic structure of CeRhIn5
The magnetic structure of the heavy fermion antiferromagnet CeRhIn5 is
determined using neutron diffraction. We find a magnetic wave vector
q_M=(1/2,1/2,0.297), which is temperature independent up to T_N=3.8K. A
staggered moment of 0.374(5) Bohr magneton at 1.4K, residing on the Ce ion,
spirals transversely along the c axis. The nearest neighbor moments on the
tetragonal basal plane are aligned antiferromagnetically.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures There was an extra factor of 2 in Eq (2). This

0.374(5) Bohr magneton at 1.4
Effects of space flight factors on genetic diversity of Buchloe dactyloides seeds
The objective of this research was to investigate the effects of space flight factors on Buchloe dactyloides “Jingyin No.3” seeds. After the retrieval, basic turf characters of plants were tested. Among the 100 plants tested, 21 showed great change on phenotype characters, including leaf blade length and width, height, stem diameter, number of tillers, number and length of stolon, length of stolon inter node, leaf color and extent of leaf turning yellow. 33 primers were screened in inter-simple sequence repeats (ISSR) analysis to evaluate DNA variation between mutations and their ground controls. Results show that 15.6 reliable bands were generated by 7 primers, of which 12.9 (80.9%) were polymorphic. Based on the study, we can conclude that the space flight factors could induce inheritable mutagenic changes on B. dactyloides seeds, and do further research to demonstrate these changes in genetic material of the mutants.Key words: Genetic diversity, Buchloe dactyloides, spaceflight, inter-simple sequence repeats
Factorization and Unitarity in Superstring Theory
The overall coefficient of the two-loop 4-particle amplitude in superstring
theory is determined by making use of the factorization and unitarity. To
accomplish this we computed in detail all the relevant tree and one-loop
amplitudes involved and determined their overall coefficients in a consistent
