Single-photon transport in a one dimentional waveguide coupling to a hybrid atom-optomechanical system
We explore theoretically the single-photon transport in a single-mode
waveguide that is coupled to a hybrid atom-optomechanical system in a strong
optomechanical coupling regime. Using a full quantum real-space approach,
transmission and reflection coefficients of the propagating single-photon in
the waveguide are ob- tained. The influences of atom-cavity detuning and the
dissipation of atom on the transport are also studied. Intriguingly, the
obtained spectral features can reveal the strong light-matter interaction in

Feasibility of remote evaporation and precipitation estimates
Remote sensing by means of stereo images obtained from flown cameras and scanners provides the potential to monitor the dynamics of pollutant mixing over large areas. Moreover, stereo technology may permit monitoring of pollutant concentration and mixing with sufficient detail to ascertain the structure of a polluted air mass. Consequently, stereo remote systems can be employed to supply data to set forth adequate regional standards on air quality. A method of remote sensing using stereo images is described. Preliminary results concerning the planar extent of a plume based on comparison with ground measurements by an alternate method, e.g., remote hot-wire anemometer technique, are supporting the feasibility of using stereo remote sensing systems
Conditions for Nondistortion Interrogation of Quantum System
Under some physical considerations, we present a universal formulation to
study the possibility of localizing a quantum object in a given region without
disturbing its unknown internal state. When the interaction between the object
and probe wave function takes place only once, we prove the necessary and
sufficient condition that the object's presence can be detected in an initial
state preserving way. Meanwhile, a conditioned optimal interrogation

Earthquake source parameters of the 2009 Mw 7.8 Fiordland (New Zealand) earthquake from L-band InSAR observations
The 2009 MW7.8 Fiordland (New Zealand) earthquake is the largest to have occurred in New Zealand since the 1931 Mw 7.8 Hawke’s Bay earthquake, 1 000 km to the northwest. In this paper two tracks of ALOS PALSAR interferograms (one ascending and one descending) are used to determine fault geometry and slip distribution of this large earthquake. Modeling the event as dislocation in an elastic half-space suggests that the earthquake resulted from slip on a SSW-NNE orientated thrust fault that is associated with the subduction between the Pacific and Australian Plates, with oblique displacement of up to 6.3 m. This finding is consistent with the preliminary studies undertaken by the USGS using seismic data
Analysing B2B electronic procurement benefits – Information systems perspective
This paper presents electronic procurement benefits identified in four case companies. The
benefits achieved in the case companies were classified according to taxonomies from the
Information Systems discipline. Existing taxonomies were combined into a new taxonomy
which allows evaluation of the complex e-procurement impact. Traditional financial-based
methods failed to capture the nature of e-procurement benefits. In the new taxonomy, eprocurement
benefits are classified using scorecard dimensions (strategic, tactical and
operational), which allows the identification of areas of e-procurement impact, in addition
the benefits characteristic is captured (tangible, intangible, financial and non-financial)
