A design approach for integrated CMOS LC-tank oscillators using bifurcation analysis
Electrical oscillators play a decisive role in integrated transceivers for wired and wireless communication systems. In this context the study of fully integrated differential VCOs has received attention. In this paper formulas for investigations of the stability as well as the amplitude of CMOS LC tank oscillators are derived, where an overall model of nonlinear gain elements is used. By means of these results we are able to present an improved design approach which gives a deeper insight into the functionality of LC tank VCOs
The Role of Social Perspective-Taking in Developing Students\u27 Leadership Capacities
This study examined relationships between social perspective-taking (SPT) and the individual, group, and societal domains of socially responsible leadership. SPT is a higher-order cognitive skill linked to moral development and social coordination, but never empirically connected to leadership development. Analyses determined SPT has a strong direct effect on group-level leadership values and an indirect effect on societallevel leadership values. Results offer critical new insights into directionality in the social change model
Orbital Magnetic Dipole Mode in Deformed Clusters: A Fully Microscopic Analysis
The orbital M1 collective mode predicted for deformed clusters in a schematic
model is studied in a self-consistent random-phase-approximation approach which
fully exploits the shell structure of the clusters. The microscopic mechanism
of the excitation is clarified and the close correlation with E2 mode
established. The study shows that the M1 strength of the mode is fragmented
over a large energy interval. In spite of that, the fraction remaining at low
energy, well below the overwhelming dipole plasmon resonance, is comparable to
the strength predicted in the schematic model. The importance of this result in

Competing electric and magnetic excitations in backward electron scattering from heavy deformed nuclei
Important contributions to the cross sections of
low-lying orbital excitations are found in heavy deformed nuclei, arising
from the small energy separation between the two excitations with and 1, respectively. They are studied microscopically in QRPA using
DWBA. The accompanying response is negligible at small momentum transfer
but contributes substantially to the cross sections measured at for fm ( MeV)
and leads to a very good agreement with experiment. The electric response is of
longitudinal type for but becomes almost purely
transverse for larger backward angles. The transverse response
remains comparable with the response for fm
( MeV) and even dominant for MeV. This happens even at
large backward angles , where the dominance is

Constrained Willmore Surfaces
Constrained Willmore surfaces are conformal immersions of Riemann surfaces
that are critical points of the Willmore energy under compactly
supported infinitesimal conformal variations. Examples include all constant
mean curvature surfaces in space forms. In this paper we investigate more
generally the critical points of arbitrary geometric functionals on the space
of immersions under the constraint that the admissible variations
infinitesimally preserve the conformal structure. Besides constrained Willmore
surfaces we discuss in some detail examples of constrained minimal and volume
critical surfaces, the critical points of the area and enclosed volume

Universality of Symmetry and Mixed-symmetry Collective Nuclear States
The global correlation in the observed variation with mass number of the
and summed transition strengths is examined for rare earth nuclei. It is
shown that a theory of correlated and fermion pairs with a simple
pairing plus quadrupole interaction leads naturally to this universality. Thus
a unified and quantitative description emerges for low-lying quadrupole and

Temperature Dependence of Damping and Frequency Shifts of the Scissors Mode of a trapped Bose-Einstein Condensate
We have studied the properties of the scissors mode of a trapped
Bose-Einstein condensate of Rb atoms at finite temperature. We measured
a significant shift in the frequency of the mode below the hydrodynamic limit
and a strong dependence of the damping rate as the temperature increased. We
compared our damping rate results to recent theoretical calculations for other
observed collective modes finding a fair agreement. From the frequency
measurements we deduce the moment of inertia of the gas and show that it is
quenched below the transition point, because of the superfluid nature of the
