A novel bi-functional photorefractive (PR) metbacrylate polymer with carbazolyl fragments and chromophoric azophenyl sulfonyl group were synthesized and characterized. The generation of photocurrent on illumination and the photoconductive propel-ties of the homopolymers and copolymers were studied. The addition of 2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone (TNF) resulted in a considerable increase of the photoconductivity by about one order of magnitude. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
