Pion transition form factor in the Domain model of QCD vacuum

Domain model of QCD allows for description of wide range of meson observables, dynamical chiral symmetry breaking, and resolution of UA(1)U_A(1) and strong CPCP problems. The purpose of the present study is transition form-factor of neutral pseudoscalar mesons, and how they are influenced by the typical vacuum configurations of the model -- almost everywhere homogeneous Abelian (anti-)self-dual fields. Asymptotic behavior of the calculated pion form-factor supports Belle trend, but the asymptotic value of Q2FπγγQ^2F_{\pi\gamma^*\gamma} differs from the prediction of factorization theorems.Comment: Talk given at The XXIII International Baldin Seminar on High Energy Physics Problems "Relativistic Nuclear Physics and Quantum Chromodynamics", September 19 to 24, 2016, Dubna (Russia); 4 pages, 3 figure

Software system for sawmill operation planning

    Get PDF
The paper describes research and development of software system for optimal planning of sawmill operation. This work is a part of long-term activity carried out by Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU) in the field of scientific research, software development and customer projects for enterprises of pulp-and-paper and forestry industry of Russia. The system uses advanced mathematical models and optimization algorithms, developed by IT-park of PetrSU, to solve a series of planning tasks for any number of orders and any configuration of process equipment of a hardwood sawmill. The developed mathematical model takes into account all features, limitations and parameters of process equipment, as well as of raw material and production orders. The efficiency of solutions had been validated on real production data of several sawmills in Russia. The system has friendly and flexible user interface and can be easily modified to handle new customer-specific requirements

Theoretical Modelling of Thermoelectric Properties of Fe2Ti1-xVxSn Heusler Alloys

Fe2TiSn is a full-Heusler alloy with 24 valence electrons per formula unit. Its electronic properties, thermal and chemical stability, relatively low cost of constituent elements make it a potential thermoelectric material for practical applications for conversion of waste heat to electricity

Common dace (Leuciscus leuciscus) - A new host of the myxozoan fish parasite, Myxobolus elegans (Cnidaria: Myxozoa) - Short communication

This paper reports the detection of the myxozoan species Myxobolus elegans Kashkovsky 1966 in common dace (Leuciscus leuciscus) that has not been previously listed as its host. The problem of differentiation of phenotypically similar Myxobolus species is addressed. During parasitological survey of common dace from the desalinated part of the Gulf of Finland at the city of Sestroretsk, Russia, numerous oval-shaped plasmodia, 0.2-0.4 mm in size, filled with Myxobolus spores were found on the gills. Pear-shaped myxospores were 15.4 (14.8-16.0) x 10.2 (9.6-10.9) mu m in size with a rib on each valve. On the basis of spore morphology, the species appeared to be similar to M. elegans and Myxobolus hungaricus Jaczo, 1940. In order to identify the species, molecular genetic analysis was performed, and the species was identified on the basis of morphological characteristics and 18S rDNA data. The results obtained indicate that the Myxobolus species observed on the gills of dace is M. elegans. Thus, common dace is another valid host of M. elegans besides the type host, ide (Leuciscus idus)

Spectroscopic study of proflavine adsorption on the carbon nanotube surface

The present paper sheds light on one of the possible mechanisms of interaction between the typical aromatic dye proflavine and the carbon nanotube surface, namely, π-stacking between aromatic rings of these compounds. To investigate such a complexation, a qualitative analysis was performed by means of ultraviolet visible, infrared, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The data obtained suggest that π-stacking brings the major contribution to the stabilization of the complex between proflavine and the carbon nanotub
