Implicit Study of Techniques and Tools for Data Analysis of Complex Sensory Data
The utility as well as contribution of applications in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been experienced by the users from more than a decade. However, with the evolution of time, it has been found that there is a massive growth of data generation even in WSN. The smaller size of sensor with limited battery life and minimal computational capability cannot handle processive such a massive stream of complex data efficiently. Although, there are various types of mining techniques being practiced today, but such tools and techniques cannot be efficiently used for analyzing such complex and massively growing data. This paper therefore discusses about the generation of large data and issues of the existing research techniques by reviewing the literatures and frequently used tools. The study finally briefs about the significant research gap that calls for need of data analytical tools in extracting knowledge from complex sensory data
NOVEL UV SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF TERIFLUNOMIDE IN TABLET DOSAGE FORM
Objective: The current work is intended towards the development of a novel, simple, and precise UV spectrophotometric method for the estimation of teriflunomide (TEF) present in the marketed formulation.
Methods: Acetonitrile was used as asolvent and the absorbance of the drug was measured at the absorbance maxima of TEF, UV 284 nm.
Results: Calibration curve plotted in concentration range 5-10 µg /ml exhibited excellent linear relationship with line equation y = 0.0858x-0.0223 and r2 value of 0.9996. The method was found to comply all the validation parameters as per the ICH guideline indicating the sensitivity of the method towards analyte.
Conclusion: The method can be used satisfactorily for the routine analysis of TEF present in marketed formulation
Single Secret Key Crptosystem for Secure and Efficient Exchange of Data in Cloud
Nowadays users are storing their personal data on a cloud storage because of its numerous advantages. One of the important advantage in cloud storage is sharing of data between users or between organizations. In this paper we propose a simple, flexible, efficient and secure data sharing method for the cloud users. Here we are describing a special type of public key encryption scheme where public key, master-secret key, single secret key and cipher text sizes are constant. Single secret key can be obtained by combining number of secret keys. The sender can securely share multiple files with receiver by encrypting each file using a separate public key. Then the sender will combine all the public keys to form a single secret key which is exchanged with receiver by using Diffie-Hellman algorithm. Advantage of small single secret key is user can store this decryption key on a resource constraint devices like smart cards, smart cell phones or sensor nodes. Receiver can download the number of files by using single secret key
Prospective study of fracture calcaneus with Allan’s procedure- bone grafting without implants
Background: Calcaneum is usually fractured following high energy axial traumas such is seen in cases of fall from height or road traffic accidents. If not properly managed these fractures can be a cause of prolonged morbidity in the form of pain, stiffness and deformities. We have conducted this prospective study of fracture calcaneum with the method described by Allan et al which constitute of open reduction and bone grafting without any implants. The objective of the was to determine the clinical approach, described by Allan et al for treatment of fracture calcaneum and to discuss in short the results, pitfalls and challenges associated with this. Methods: A prospective study was done on 42 patients who were diagnosed with intra-articular calcaneal fractures depending upon a predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. All fractures of the study subjects were treated using a lateral approach by Allan’s procedure. Final outcome was assessed on the basis modified Rowe score. Results: In this study a total of 42 patients with intra-articular calcaneal fractures and treated by open reduction and bone grafting without any implants were studied. There were 36 men and 6 women. Majority of the patients tolerated the procedure well and most of the patients (95.23%) had a complete or partial restoration of heel shape. Significant residual pain was seen in only 1 (2.38 %) patient. 36 patients (85.71 %) had excellent outcome 5 patients (11.90%) had good and 1 patient (2.38%) had satisfactory outcome. Conclusions: The management of intra-articular calcaneal fracture by open reduction and bone grafting without any implants give good results with excellent functional outcome. Since no implants are used in this technique this can be a preferable procedure in rural areas and in patients with low socioeconomic status.
Ancient oceans and Martian paleohydrology
The global model of ocean formation on Mars is discussed. The studies of impact crater densities on certain Martian landforms show that late in Martian history there could have been coincident formation of: (1) glacial features in the Southern Hemisphere; (2) ponded water and related ice features in the northern plains; (3) fluvial runoff on Martian uplands; and (4) active ice-related mass-movement. This model of transient ocean formation ties these diverse observations together in a long-term cyclic scheme of global planetary operation
NOVEL HPTLC-DENSITOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF TERIFLUNOMIDE IN TABLET DOSAGE FORM
Objective: The current work is intended towards the development of a novel, simple and precise high-performance thin layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method coupled with a densitometer for the estimation of teriflunomide (TEF) present in the marketed formulation.
Methods: The chromatographic development was performed on aluminum plates coated with silica gel 60 F254 using toluene: ethyl acetate: glacial acetic acid (7.5:2: 0.5 v/v/v) as the mobile phase. Densitometric scanning was achieved at the absorbance maxima, UV 284 nm.
Results: Well separated band was observed with Rf value 0.46. The calibration curve plotted in the concentration range 100-700ng/band exhibited an excellent linear relationship with the r2 value of 0.9928. The method was found to comply with all the validation parameters as per the ICH guidelines.
Conclusion: The method ensures minimal use of mobile phase with minimal run time compared to other reported analytical methods. This validated method can be used by quality control laboratories for the routine quantitative analysis of tablets consisting of Teriflunomide
Combined Approach for Tooth Whitening: A Case Report
The discolored, non-vital anterior tooth is a common aesthetic concern for many patients. Discolored non-vital teeth are frequently compromised owing to previous trauma, caries, endodontic therapy and failed restorations. Destructive invasive treatment options are likely to weaken the remaining tooth structure. This can reduce the prognosis and challenge the long-term viability of the tooth, thereby initiating further prosthetic predicaments. This paper discusses modern approaches to the treatment of discolored teeth. The paper presents a case on inside/outside bleaching techniqu
FORMULATION OPTIMIZATION OF PROMETHAZINE THEOCLATE IMMEDIATE RELEASE PELLETS BY USING EXTRUSION-SPHERONIZATION TECHNIQUE
Objective: Promethazine theoclate is a BCS Class II drug having anti-histaminic property and mainly used for the treatment of motion sickness and postoperative emesis. The main objective of the research work was to formulate and optimize immediate release pellets of promethazine theoclate by using the extrusion-spheronization technique to offer immediate release dosage form suitable for treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness and post-operative conditions. Methods: Immediate release pellets of promethazine theoclate were prepared by using microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and corn starch as filler and disintegrant respectively along with other excipients. Pellet formulation was further optimized for bulk density, disintegration time and percent drug release after 10 min. using 32 factorial design. Formulations were also characterized for drug-polymer interactions using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), surface morphology by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and other physicochemical properties. Results: Optimised pellet formulation contains 2.5:4.5:1 ratio of MCC: Corn Starch: Drug and spheronization time of 60 seconds showing highest percent yield of 78% and immediate drug release of 100.52±0.65% after 10 min. Conclusion: Promethazine theoclate pellets formulated in this study can serve as an alternative to tablet dosage form which can give immediate drug release for treatment of motion sickness and postoperative emesis
