rasgos forenses por patolog铆as dentarias, tratamiento dental y patolog铆as no
cariosas
The odontogram is a faithful, graphic description of a person's mouth, which is why
it serves as an effective means of personal and medico-legal identification.
The objective of this study was to characterize an antemortem forensic odontogram
in the rented personnel of the Volunteer Fire Department of the city of Cuenca, year
2022, with a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional design, without a sample, to
127 of the 139 analyzed (12 did not attend or refused).
For the registration and data collection, an instrument (file) was used that integrates
the study variables: sociodemographic, facial, and dental characteristics and
forensic features due to dental pathologies, dental treatment, and non-carious
pathologies.
In the end, it was possible to single out those studied according to the variables and
all the constant features in the individual odontogram, especially those that may
persist after death by cremation.
The incidence of dental caries and especially dental wear due to attrition, stands out
remarkably.
By having an average of twenty-five forensic features per individual (without
considering facial features), it is concluded that this study provides a valuable tool
for postmortem positive identification in people who, due to their profession, such as
firefighters, could be unrecognizable by other means.Mag铆ster en Medicina Legal y ForenseCuenc
