Scatter plot of openness factor score and (a) serum ALA:DHA ratio or (b) FADS2 activity.

Graphs show a significant negative correlation between openness factor score and serum ALA:DHA ratio (pβ=β0.008, rβ=ββ0.498) and a significant positive correlation between openness factor score and FADS2 activity (pβ=β0.036, rβ=ββ0.406).</p
Statistical Tests.

Factors: N, Neuroticism; E, Extraversion; O, Openness; A, Agreeableness; C, Conscientiousness

Correlations and p-values are shown in each box with corrections for age, BMI and antipsychotic dose shown in the parentheses. Significant correlations are bolded with those remaining significant after correction marked with an asterisk.</p
Schematic of biosynthetic pathway for common n-3 and n-6 fatty acids.

Major dietary inputs are shown with arrows and enzymes catalyzing each conversion are given.</p
Scatter plots of ALA:EPA ratio, EPA:DHA ratio and both agreeableness and extraversion factor scores.

Graphs show significant correlations between ALA:EPA and agreeableness (pβ=β0.023, rβ=ββ0.436) and extraversion (pβ=β0.045, rβ=ββ0.389) and significant positive correlations between EPA:DHA and agreeableness (pβ=β0.024, rβ=β0.433) and extraversion (pβ=β0.048, rβ=β0.384).</p
Subject Data.

Atypical antipsychotic (AAP) medications are given with actual dose and chlorpromazine equivalents (CPZ eqs.). Body mass index (BMI) and history of suicide attempt (Suicidal Hx), either Yes or No are also reported.</p

Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing can improve treatment of depression and ADHD by identifying altered metabolizers of specific therapeutic treatments. Despite the lack of widespread clinical uptake, use of commercial PGx tests for depression and ADHD medications is growing. We sought to document how PGx tests are used in clinical practice among early adopters for patients with depression and/or ADHD. Phone survey with providers who had previously ordered an Informed PGx (Progenity, Inc.) test, identified from customer records. Phone survey designed to assess prescriber usage of PGx testing and perceptions of use within eight different clinical scenarios. This study received approval from the University of Michigan IRB.

</div
