    No full text
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is twofold. The first objective is to outline the main theoretical framework on the conflict style phenomenon; the second purpose is to understand the conflict style in a sample of Medical Health Manager. Design/methodology/approach – The authors based this research on qualitative-quantitative analysis. This study starts with a survey questionnaire as a method to collect quantitative data. Therefore, the authors conducted a survey on the style of conflict management of hospital managers with subordinates. A modified version of the Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory II (ROCI II) (Rahim, 1983) – Module B is used. This instrument is composed of 28 entries. Findings – The results of this study offer a double perspective. From a theoretical point of view, the results highlight the main theoretical references related to conflict management. In particular, the main currents of study and the results of empirical evidence have been identified within organizational theory. The empirical part of this study, instead, offers a survey, carried out through the administration of the ROCI II – module B questionnaire. Originality/value – This paper offers interesting food for thought on conflict management. In particular, it offers theoretical references on the subject and on the validation of the ROCI II - Form B model, in health organizations

The Covid-19 era asks for a reduction in face to face relationships. For this reason, the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are becoming the main tool able to substitute the direct relationship among people. So, one tool able to support health authorities in monitoring and mitigating the ongoing COVID-19 was Mobile Applications (mApps), by facilitating follow-up among patients and practitioners and providing direct guidance to citizens in order to play their part in the control of the disease. The main purpose of this paper, is to know and analyze features and functionalities of the mApps for COVID-19, currently available in the widely used smartphones applications stores, like Play Store and iTunes. The first results obtained at this stage of the research have permit to give a preliminary taxonomy of the mApps specifically oriented to COVID health management in Italy. The research found n°71 mApps operating on principle stores, by underlining features and aspects useful to make users more responsible and self management regarding own health. MApps in COVID period could represent one organizational support for mantaining a useful relationship among patients and health operators regarding health care assistance. In order to do this it's necessary to determine optimal capabilities and evaluate utility and clinical benefit of these tools. This work permits to recognize and obtain first informations to this regard

Health care delivery occurs within a complex organization which have different professional figures. Competing priorities within this structure of health care often result in conflicts between the work teams. In order to better understand the conflict among Medical Health Manager and subordinates the approach requires a general comprehension of the context and the different impacting variables. Infact the workers are becoming more and more interdependent in their actions and responsible for more decision-making processes. These changes mean new types of conflicts may arise among different groups of workers than were experienced in bureaucratically structured organizations (Janssen, Van de Vliert & Veenstra, 1999). On this basis, the research question and the hypotheses that address this study arise from analysis of the literature. The first purpose is to know how conflict styles are defined in academic literature; the second purpose is to understand the conflict style in a sample of Medical Health Manager

This research aims to analyze the implementation process of new knowledge management tools (KMT) in an Italian university as a result of the emergency challenges (COVID-19). The processes of academic knowledge transfer (AKT) and knowledge management tools (KMT) are undergoing rapid changes due to technological innovation and new user requirements. Universities are obliged to offer educational and training courses through distance learning technologies and e-learning platforms. The research adopts a research-action approach to analyze the case study. The results of this research show that the extensive use of KMT and e-learning requires new approaches for the creation of educational content on the part of professors; on the other hand, the implementation of these new technologies requires the redesign of the knowledge transfer processes to meet the requirements of web connection and the quality of teaching materials which are shared with many students at the same time
