    Microorganisms’ Effects and Mechanisms in Ocular Infections: A Systematic Review

    In the world, microorganisms are the main cause of eye illnesses. Common bacterial infections of the eye, if untreated, can damage the eye\u27s structures and lead to blindness and other visual impairments. The eye may get infected from the outside or as a result of bloodstream-borne germs invading the eye. Infectious bacteria can cause eye infections. Blepharitis, conjunctivitis, Listeriosis, keratitis, dacryocystitis, etc. are some of the frequent eye illnesses brought on by bacterial and fungal pathogens. The information on the variety of ocular surface microorganisms has been significantly increased by the series of genome-based methods through 16S rRNA gene-based identification. According to this research, a sufficient number of bacteria have a substantial part in the pathophysiology of eye illnesses, even though certain bacteria contribute to normal ocular processes. As a result, those with good vision can shed light on the intricacy of the ocular microflora and learn more about some visual requirements in addition to their vital contribution to the regular operation of the eye. Under these conditions, it is crucial to establish a quick, dependable, and affordable procedure that will eventually become a standard diagnostic process.     Correlation between vitamin D and lipid profile in patients with ischemic stroke

    Background: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum vitamin D level and lipid profile in ischemic stroke patients.Methods: 217 patients with ischemic stroke were selected for analysis between ages 45 and 80 years admitted at our hospital from January 2014 to December 2015. Measurement of serum vitamin-D concentration was made by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Confounding variables like diabetes, hypertension, smoking, alcohol, tobacco, BMI, CRP, S. uric acid, duration of sunlight exposure, prior history of drug intake or fracture and S. calcium were considered. 200 age and sex matched controls were taken. The source of data was questionnaires and multiple linear regression analysis and correlation analysis were used.Results: A positive correlation was seen between vitamin D and serum cholesterol, VLDL, LDL, triglycerides, cholesterol/HDL ratio and LDL/HDL ratio but inverse correlation between vitamin D and HDL.Conclusions: In ischemic stroke patients increase in vitamin D is associated with increase in atherogenic lipids

    Neglected obstetric haemorrhage leading to acute kidney injury

    Pregnancy related acute kidney injury takes substantial share of acute kidney injury (AKI) in India, with obstetrical haemorrhage having high morbidity and mortality. A young female had neglected obstetric haemorrhage (unrecognized intrauterine and massive intraperitoneal bleeding post caesarean, due to uterine trauma and atony) and dangerous intra-abdominal hypertension with exsanguination eventually leading to shock, multifactorial AKI, metabolic acidosis, and hyperkalemia. Intensive and aggressive management with subtotal hysterectomy, inotropes, fluid management, mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy, and hemodialysis changed the outcome. Despite odds against, neglected obstetric haemorrhage with complicated AKI, was managed successfully by emergency hysterectomy, aggressive intervention for AKI with intensive fluid, ventilatory management and daily hemodialysis. Timely identification and aggressive management of this condition and complications is pivotal in preventing complications, morbidity, and maternal mortality.

Various parts of this plant are used in Ayurveda and other folk medicines for the treatment of different ailments such as filariasis, leprosy, toothache, diarrhea, dysentery and cancer.     Effect of Organic and Inorganic Plant Growth Promoters on Yield Attribute, Yield and Economics of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Varieties

    The field experiment was carried out during Rabi season of 2021-22 at “Students’ Instructional Farm” of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. The experiment included two factors, viz. timely shown wheat varieties, V1-DBW-187, V2-K-1006, and V3-K-607 in main-plot and plant growth promoters (PGPs), G0- Control, G1- Nitrobenzene @ 3ml l-1, G2-Gibberellic acid @ 2000 ppm, G3-Seaweed extract solid @ 25 kg ha-1, G4-Seaweed extract liquid @ 625 ml ha-1, G5-Micronutrients (Zn, Fe, B, Cu) @ 0.5% were selected in sub-plots. The overall 18 treatment combinations were accommodated in Split Plot Design and replicated thrice. The results of this study showed significant increases in yield attributes, yield and economics, viz. no. of ears m-2 (426.29, 417.63), length of ear (10.97, 10.53 cm), no. of grains ear-1 (69.55, 69.81), test weight (40.67, 39.66 g), grain yield (4764.67, 4402.33 kg ha-1) and  gross income (INR. 141547.00, 131446.90), net income (INR. 96773.00, 86672.74) and B: C ratio (3.14, 2.93) in  wheat varieties DBW-187, K-1006 respectively as compared to variety K-607. Among plant growth promoters,  G6-mixture of micronutrients (Zn, Fe, Cu, B) @ 0.5% foliar spray at tillering stage, resulted significant increments in yield attributes, yield and economics, viz. no. of ears m-2 (445.43), length of ear (11.96 cm), no. of grains ear-1 (73.67), test weight (41.87g), grain yield (4813.67 kg ha-1), gross income (INR. 139707.40), net income (INR. 94263.00) and B: C ratio (3.06) as compared to control treatment. G3-Gibberellic acid @ 2000 ppm and G5-Seaweed extract liquid @ 625 ml ha-1 show significant result also. The maximum No. of ears m-2, Length of ear, No. of grains ear-1, Test weight, grain yield, gross income, net income and B: C ratio was recorded under the variety DBW-187 and   mixture nutrients (Zn Fe, Cu, and B)
